My little boy is 8 years old and we got his diagnosis when coming up to his 6th birthday. Definitely keep going with the EHCP for her as I was told by my son’s juniors school that he wouldn’t get an EHCP because he talks and he doesn’t show anything in school, however we all know that children with autism like to mask their feelings. I’m going through getting him an EHCP myself as if feel he gets left out when he’s at school. Keep going hun, it is hard but we asd mama’s have got it and we are stronger than we think we are. Definitely keep going with the Ehcp. My daughter got one starting school and didn’t have a diagnosis then. The assessment was declined at first. Happy to message you as I live in Bristol so may be helpful. Glad you have your diagnosis now. I would interested to hear more about Hayden’s diagnosis and history xx
Thanks I will try we have had problems with her preschool and I’ve took her out so not sure where that leaves us but they weren’t going to help anyways and I lost all trust in them for other reasons. I will ask if he minds me doing a video on it xx
@@KirstyLouiseYabsley ah sorry they were not more supportive. You can apply again yourself now you have more evidence. Even though I have been through it myself I don’t understand why the local authority make it so hard when children clearly need help x
Definitely don’t let them tell you you won’t get an ehcp - I’ve read lots of stuff where people get turned down but then get it once they reapply. Years back my son was put forward to be statemented and was turned down so the school and ourselves said we will take it to tribunal and lo and behold they back down!
Also im not sure if you know but you can apply for dla for both children - again this is a nightmare to do and often gets refused first time round but then awarded if you oersist. Good luck with everything xx
We’ve took her out the preschool they wouldn’t help and there was other reasons I couldn’t trust them anymore with my child. So not sure if we can still do it without a preschool but I will try! Thanks I’ve heard of that I might have a look for Evie-Mai not sure Hayden would qualify. Well done for not backing down ❤️ thank you x
@@KirstyLouiseYabsley you should be able to get it for both. It’s definitely worth trying but the forms are long and its hard to out it down in writing - but you have to put diwn the worst days, not sugar coat it etc.
Maybe it will ge easier when she gets to school to sort it but i do know you can apply yourself. Hope it works out for you xx
