CLEAR SKY was the one that introduced new mechanics to the STALKER saga such as: mechanics, work tools, being able to modify weapons and suits, the appearance of the anomaly detector, new maps, mutants, anomalies etc... What I did not like or not It was understood it is the war of factions and at the beginning the game had many bugs. Another change was the graphic jump compared to Shadow of Chernobyl. It's an underrated game
"Damn i only have 7 shots left in my MP5." *rewinds to previous footage in Swamps* *shows footage of going full auto with MP5 into some boxes* I think LFO isnt good enough that it makes me want to go back to CS. Whereas Autumn Aurora IS so good that it lures me back to ShoC.
Probably the ideal mod to reacquaint yourself with Clear Sky. It makes so many changes to the game, crank up the res and away you go. I think there was an update to it not that far back (yep, 2021). :)
@@Yellowswift3 That sounds like it could be well worth trying out, cheers. I have noticed that the latest version is (1.1.3) on Moddb but there is a GitHub link on there to get the pre-release version for their next release (1.1.4) which I will get.
It was the only one I tried back in the day, and I found it odd, and gave the disc back to my friend after trying to leave the swamp and getting hassled by that military aimbot. I only played it for a few hours and thought it wasnt as fun as other games I was playing at the time. But then I eventually went back and played SoC about 10 years ago and really liked it, but still skipped Clear Sky because everyone said it sucked, confirming my bias and keeping me from giving it a chance. But since playing Anomaly, I wanted to go back and play the trilogy again, and this time played Clear Sky with the ABR overhaul, and had a blast with it. Granted, there are a couple caveats, like not being able to play as Bandit faction or do missions for them, but to my understanding the bandit faction in general is the reason for a lot of the bugs in the game, so it's worth the tradeoff. It was just a lot of fun to play through the game and do the faction wars, and that makes it a great middle point between playing SoC Autumn Aurora and CoP Gunslinger when playing all three in a row
If I download this mod, the languages of the main game still as the og game right? Example I have the game in Italian, if I download this mod the game still running in Italian? I hope the dialogue not dubbing but the dialogue it self still in the language that I set ahahah
Help I'm playing STALKER CoP and currently at the second last chopper crash investigation (Did almost all the side missions) I feel in love with it, so I wanted to know if there is a better way to play the previous games? Like is playing CoC (Call of Chernobyl) for the story/lore a good idea?
If you haven't played the previous games, then I would recommend using a mod (there are a number of them out there) that doesn't attempt to 'reinvent the wheel', so you'll get an enhanced + vanilla experience.
I've heard mixed reactions to that, but totally understand if you'd rather begin with the first release of the series. Whatever you play, good hunting, stalker! :)
Unfortunately this is the one stalker game in the series I do not enjoy. It is well worth trying out mods though because there is that chance it can change or improve the base game.
That's fair enough. I'm glad I gave it another look, the sound design in it is noteworthy. It's bright in places but I guess someone can always adjust the gamma and contrast if they wish. Although unrelated, I found it Interesting that when loading the base game and upscaling to 4K, my system was struggling to maintain 30fps in the Clear Sky base! Those god rays are sure demanding...
@@Yellowswift3 it is how most do it in vanilla CS, try mg nest, fail, go back to swamps and only then the northern exit is available. But you got past it now anyways.

It certainly has its strengths. :)

Well, at least you got to watch the boar eat the guy that plugged you from behind, lol. A smidge of revenge, I suppose. :-D
Was never a huge fan of this game back in the day but I fancy trying out the Sky Reclamation Project mod to see if that fixes or changes anything.

Thanks, I'll check out 1.1.4. I tried using 1.1.3 earlier but then added a FOV changer, but unfortunately that would then stop the game from loading.
@@Yellowswift3 I tried an FOV changer myself but could not get it to work at all.

I played Clear Sky with OGSM 1.8 mod.
It's lite mod commijg with bugfixes
is it in english?

Is the entire zone map accessesable in Clear Sky LFO just like Anomaly ?
I'm not sure about that.
Help

Hmm you are right I'll have to play SoC, kinda feels bad having to leave CoP after all the grinding
@@Zangetsu-gaTensho I'd carry on with COP; you don't absolutely have to play them in a specific order.

@@Yellowswift3 not sure why but CS base is always demanding like some other places in the Zone.
With sky reclamation project I was actually flabbergasted how good it was
Can't you just take the northern swamps exit to Cordon after saying hello to the mg nest?
I don't know but it sounds like worth investigating. Probably isn't an option if it's based on the vanilla maps.
