Bought mine in October 2022 and still love it… not yet have I regretted it and wished I bought the 250 or 300 instead.

I’ve had mostly Honda bikes since 1987, lots of XL’s and XRs 200cc-400cc. A few CRF 150 and 230f. Currently have a 2021 TE150 and a CRF450L. … outside of a highly modded 230f, the 150 is by far the most fun in the woods.

I'm the most satisfied with this purchase over any of my other bikes lol the 150 is just fun. It has enough power but not too much where it's just scary like a 450 lol One whiskey throttle with a 450 and you are gone lol

I had 450’s and they were quite easy to ride in flowing trails and on trails like this video but any slower rougher would be a handful because of the weight and stalling without a rekluse. For long distance open trails the 450 is king. If you can control your right wrist they are easy bike to ride very stable with tons of torque. I sold it and bought a TE150. Very different bike at opposite spectrum of performance. The tighter and slower the better it is vs the 450. On fast open trails i miss my 450 but everywhere else no. The 150 is light and easy to push around when stuck it opps over stuff easily and has decent torque and power when using the gears correctly. Shifting is the key here and you shift a lot on this bike. I enjoy it and the power is more than people think in the mid range. One thing that people that did not ride a small 2 stroke is when in the power things happen quickly. Top end power is not really there vs an mx bike. It was design to pull low to mid range rpm. I have put a tsp kit on it to clean the mapping and now it is a baby 300. Nice bike if you are not in a race with your friend. It will make you a better rider for sure; you will learn to shift and use the clutch. Different tool than a 300 or 450 but great ride with a nice suspension and ergos.

I like the analogy of the 1000cc bike vs a 600. Makes sense. I bought my 23’ TE150 in October last year. Mainly for the weight savings coming from a KLX300R. I couldn’t physically handle that bike in the woods. It puts a smile on my face every time I ride. I did change to a 52 tooth rear sprocket and got a tune from TPI tuning. There is plenty of torque and power to be had even below the pipe. And the suspension is just excellent. I’ll be keeping this bike for a long time.

I have a ktm 300 and have ridden 450s but I do not have the skill for those bikes. I can put a 300 around and have fun but I can rip a 125 2t and have an absolute blast. The 300 is nice in certain scenarios. But like you mentioned, its hard to ride these bikes to their potential. If I had to pick a bike for slow speeds I would take a 125 any day. Love your vids!

    I picked up a 2018 KTM 150 XC-W as my first 2 stroke and I really love it and I’m glad I went with a 150 over a 250 or 300.

I’ve got a 2020 Husky 150 tpi. I love it a lot, it’s an amazing bike, but I’ve wondered as a newb if it’s not the bike for me. As a few riders have pointed out it likes to live on the pipe. Great for someone experienced who likes living full throttle everywhere but on hill climbs it’s tricky for me as you end up in 1st in many rocky climbs where you can’t fly and I find clutch control is on/off in 1st as you have to give it serious revs to get into the power so it doesn’t flame out. I’ve been told a FE250 would suit better? I do just “general enduro”. Basically not exactly hard enduro but plenty of up and down work, small hill climbs, some single track and fast trails. I’m stuck whether to continue with it or switch to an Fe250. I do love the bike though so wouldn’t switch lightly. I certainly don’t fancy a larger 2 stroke. I’d prefer the 150 over a 300 as a 300 would scare the shit out of me 😁

there is nothing wrong with getting a 300 and just lugging everywhere lol. you just have to live with the monster that is there when you open it up haha. they have great low end and you don't have to ride them on the pipe

I'm thinking of beginning motocross. I found a cool schematics website which has frames and stuff from every bike on the market, i could ask a fabricator to weld one up or buy a fresh one, and buy a bike then build it from scratch. It seems appealing because I am on a tight budget. I wanna go big, 250 2t or a 450 (450 maybe because 4 strokes need less maintenance). First, i will fix my laptop, then I should have like 300 of our currency spare (Romanian Lei), the PC is kinda expensive though not really. My plan is to visit Italy, work on the ranch a bit, raise some cash, and begin my motor head (proper) debut because i already own a moped (basically, my dad helped me reassemble it, and I used my money to buy stuff for it. He basically fueled my bike addiction. I began when I was 15, I am 16 now, a motocross would work here still because if you aren't on tarmac laws don't apply. But a 125 2t enduro would be cool still to get to school and back.

when I asked questions online about the TE 150 I was getting similar responses "150s suck you shoulve got the 250 or 300" like I already have a yz250f which i love to ride but im still relatively novice at riding dirtbikes to the point where im still too scared to go past 3rd gear on it. im in no way shape or form doing any type of enduro competition or doing hard enduro in general. I literally ONLY ride on my local trails near my house and all of these trails i have been able to tackle on a 2007 DRZ125L which is basically a toy bike lol everyone thinks that if you dont have the best possible bike then anything else is a literal lemon lol

getting something smaller that you can actually learn to ride will help improve your skill. because you aren't wrestling a bear... I love my 150 it has power but you can control it and its not going to just yeet you off of it with a little throttle input like a 300

I've been riding almost ten years on the street and I honestly thought the sanctimony was a myth, but I finally met a guy who unironically talks shit about people who ride anything other than a liter bike. It's bananas. Dude's totaled 4 R1s in as many years, 3.5 of them due to how shitty he is at riding. Anyway, I'm just out here looking for more 150 content I love my '18 TE.

I think people saying it isnt a mans bike are more talking about racing. Which yea you can race it but then youre in a small bikes class. It IS a smaller engine bike I feel like it's demographic is newer or smaller riders. I race ECEA i'm riding a KX125 FRAME with a KDX250 engine. Rocking a 18 inch on the rear and its the best bike ive ever woods raced. Its a 99 and i beat guys on these new bikes all day long. Its the rider at the end of the day not the bike. This bike is exactly what he said "fun" that's it unless you're new to racing or riding or you just cant handle the power of a bigger bike than yea this would be the bike for you. From an experienced rider this bike is strictly a "fun" bike to ride and cruise on. Unless you're just super into racing the 200 C class.

Your first mistake was buying a bike that you thought everyone would love and the second mistake you made was giving a chit was folks on YT think of your bike. You should get a bike YOU like not what others like. If you make good content you will be successful on any bike. It's not the bike that makes the video's it's the rider. Stop buying bikes because you think other people will like them. Buy them for yourself.

yeah after a few months of pushing it you just are able to build confidence then when I do get on my 450 I can ride it a bet better (harder to do a comparison because my 450 is the big wheel so handling is a different world) but downsizing has made me a better rider I believe
