I like when the bull sharpens his claws, Carmesita's operatic voice, and the kiss at the end. I do feel sorry for the bull. I guess the ending was symbolic of little mouse wins over big bull. And truth be told they do turn into steaks... the kind of thing we don't like to think about...:(
That bull was pretty powerful to knock out an armored tank and 21 other bulls out of the arena, against his will of course. But he was just no match for Mighty Mouse. Too bad. Happy New Year to you all.
Then his great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandson Ferdinand was born 100 years after this horrible thing. However, Ferdinand was born in urban Spain and not in Andaluisa and he didn't fight. Ferdinand lived.
How about an alternate ending? Mighty Mouse is pulverizing the bull, beating him to a pulp, while Carmansita is looking on and suddenly feels bad for the bull and just as Mighty Mouse is just about finish him off, she steps in and says: "Don't you dare kill this poor helpless creature and then gives Mighty Mouse a big punch, a punch so hard he flies out of the arena. Carmantsita comforts the bull and they get married and live happily ever after.....Nah that wouldn't be good. I don't think the audiences would swallow that, Mighty Mouse being punched out by a girl and a mouse marrying a bull.
brian sedlock I like your idea a lot more. I'm noticing a pattern in these Mighty Mouse cartoons of women basically being trophies, and this one has some messed up animal cruelty on top of it. it's hard to care about any of the characters or like Mighty Mouse here, sadly.
I was thinking that Mighty Mouse, being such a noble hero would not want to see the bull taken to the butcher shop to be slaughtered because he would find it cruel. When the bull fight is over and the bull defeated, Mighty would tell the butcher to spare his life; the bull would be eternally grateful to Mighty and they'd be friends forever. As much as I love to eat meat I'd want to see that bull spared.
you can also stop loving to eat meat (and other animal products too).. x'D I mean, you know someone needs to die for your meat.. 3:01 to 4:01 "Chi Mi Frena In Tal Momento" from Donizetti's "Lucia Di Lammermoor" with other lyrics. Why not an aria from Bizet's "Carmen"? It would have been more suitable. 4:35 "Ay, me rompió la nariz! Qué es esto? Qué es esto?" (Ouch, he broke my nose! What's this? What's this?)
You know. There really was no reason for Mighty Mouse to be there. Cause she was not in distress and no one was captured by the bull. it was just a cruel game where the bull was winning. So if you think about it Mighty Mouse just wasted his time, I mean its not like the episode where he was rescuing that lamb from the wolves.
brian sedlock The clearness in this episode is awesome, the other uploads of this episode are real cloudy. I love the way Carmensita sings and moves at 3:49-3:56. The animation went real well with the music. They really put alot of heart in the animation,. Makes you forget that she is just a cartoon character.
that bull has an attitude. I still think however he should've had his life spared. There was however a Popeye cartoon from 1933, one of his first ones whose name escapes me in which Popeye challenges a bull to a rodeo and as the bull charged closer to him, he punched it into steaks, beef, hot dogs and hamburgers, even kosher beef. That was funny but it would be politically incorrect today.
I was wondering why a Mighty Mouse cartoon would get 2.5 Thousand thumbs down, until I saw the last scene - Oh That's why - not a good message to send about bull fighting, even if it was made in the 40's - and I don't remember Bugs Bunny ever actually killing anybody (Ok on further review Bugs might've killed somebody here or there - LOL) - However Mighty Mouse should be more noble than that - add me to the thumbs down.
The matadors know who they fighting, I know the bull is strong but not that strong and Mighty Mouse is the deus ex machina of all this terry toons cartoon, the female mouse design too human if you ask me
The bull, the mightiest bull around, was honorable. Yes he was beating all the matadors, but that's his job, he's had a great deal of experience to be able beat them like he did. Plus he never went in for the kill, he'd launch them outa the arena, but he never killed them. When Mighty Mouse came in and started pounding on the bull, it wasn't ever a fair fight, now was it, for the bull did not have super strength, or able to fly, he even ordered his bull buddies in for backup and it still wasn't enough to take Mighty Mouse down, or even slow him down for that matter. In the end the Mightiest bull was thrown outa the arena and then when unconscious when then taken away by the butcher to be slaughtered. This episode promotes animal cruelty as I see it. ('︵')
There were two Popeye cartoons one from the Fleischer era and another from the Famous era in which he pounded two bulls into meat, thus creating a meat market. Would you consider that animal cruelty.
I think the main issue here Is the amount of personality we see from the Bull. Though I think it's acceptable in a cartoon it is rather brutal reality.
