Always love to see you covering these games from Japanese designers. We are too little to make much of a difference but your reviews make a big impact on showing people the beauty of the Japanese gaming scene.

I looove the look of this game and, oddly, am quite fond of the Mediterranean theme.
The board looks like My Little Pax Renaissance 2nd Edition.

Great review! This game is really good. I was really impressed. It actually reminds me of Agricola. The worker placement is tight, and the cost to feed your population based on the number of ships (workers) you produce is impactful. I like that most of the points are scored up front on the score track with just a few tallied at game end.

Such a great euro game with extra flare. More people need to try this one

I want a game where one builds dice towers in the Mediterranean. One also has to shut the door.

Call it Ship Placement instead of worker placement. ;) Thanks for the video.

This is a uchibacoya game i have not yet got my hands on, i didn't know it was getting picked up for US distribution! Cool!

Amalfi - renaissance is a Sylex game. It is not just a game; it's a labor of love, a re-development project that pays homage to the original version created by Uchibacoya. While the game's basic design draws inspiration from its predecessor, I'm thrilled to inform you that almost everything else is set to be entirely different.
In this new iteration, we've poured our hearts and creativity into crafting a unique and captivating gaming experience. While the original served as our foundation, we've expanded upon it in countless ways: New Characters, new Destinations, new Objectives etcc :)

Yes, I own it. It’s very good. That’s the same designer of this game.

    How’s the solo?

    • @michaeldilisio557

It’s very good. And very difficult (for me at least).

Would be an idea to film a solo playthrough if you're still doing those :) @@michaeldilisio557

I was a bit disappointed with the solo mode because it is beat your own score style. It follows a script that reacts to what you do on the board, but in a completely predictable way. It's super easy to run, but does provide a good puzzle, and it's very challenging (for me, at least). I just wish the solo mode was a bit more dynamic.

One reason more folks aren't picking up this intriguing eurogame game is that the rulebook is absolute flaming garbage.

I thought the rule book was excellent. Very clearly laid out and easy to understand.
