  • A total solar eclipse occurs when the entire disk of the Sun is covered by the Moon, as seen from Earth. An annular eclipse occurs when the lunar disk does not completely block the Sun. On Feb. 26, 2017, an annular eclipse will be visible from parts of Earth’s southern hemisphere. -- Full Story: goo.gl/7VFlsK

    Drove down from Canada to Rexburg, Idaho, to see the 2017, "Great American Eclipse!" There wasn't a cloud in the sky and it absolutely blew our minds!! See you in Texas 2024!!!

      I drove from near Prescott AZ to Casper, WY to see it. Was somewhat cloudy, but got good video and still pictures of it. Even got the shadow bands and the approaching shadow on video. I'll definitely be in TX for the "Great American Eclipse ver. 2.0" in 2024. It will be my 4th total eclipse I've seen in my lifetime. See you there. (Jan Griffiths).

      Same. Got the s22 ultra and I can't wait to use the 100x zoom on an eclipse. I missed the blood moon this morning bc it was 98% cloud cover outside and I'm so upset lol.
      I'm setting my calendar for next october and 2024

    1:35 So the ring of fire was the one in 2019 December? And why was I the only one who didn't know about this when my schoolmates do...It's weird since the eclipse was on my recommendation for 3 days and I didn't watch the videos.

    Why the one that goes over usa is the most important? TF?

    • @appleipodtouch2g
      @appleipodtouch2g 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      njsah88 because it goes over the entire country and its in driving distance of 1/3rd of the country, or (depending on how far you wanna drive) the entire continental US. Most eclipses just go through a small section of a country and mainly hit the ocean

      Total Eclipses are not rare, they happens at least once a 1-2 years, more frequent then Olympics, and there astronomical events that are even more rare, so for astronomical perspective of point they are nothing special and they can be studied quite frequently. What was impotent for NASA in 2017 eclipse is fact that they have infrastructure in US and they don't need to travel anywhere to observe in detail on whole shadow track, it was simply cheapest eclipse to study for them. 2024 will be the same as impotent not to mention sun will be more active at that time which give some chance to see live naked eye CME blast from potential solar flare

    I'm still confused. So does it get as dark during the annular eclipse like the total one? I saw some videos of annular eclipses and they didn't seem to be dark at all , just bunch of people gazing at the bright sun with some equipment whereas during the total eclipse, everything went darker and was able to see venus and other objects in the sky.

      Annular eclipse happens when the moon is far away from earth but blocks the sun meaning that the sun will look bigger therefore you will see the circumference of the sun like a ring (annulus) shape. A total solar eclipse is the moon is close to earth so therefore it will look bigger than the sun and when it blocks the sun it will be dark

      When there is an annular eclipse the sun light can still pass through, although it will be darker it won't be dark enough to see stars and planets. This is due to the moon being further away when the eclipse happens. On the other hand in a total solar eclipse no light passes through the area below it, meaning complete darkness.

    • @vmariontop
      @vmariontop 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ik this is from 1 year ago but it’s because the moon is not closer enough to comepletly block the sun and only part of it is visible meaning the sky is not dark
