I think Sweet Caroline is my favorite song by the Bubs. They do an amazing job on all the songs for that matter! I hope they continue to sing wherever they go in life.
13 people didn't like the Bubs...sigh. They were the best last season, they should've won! There is so much tangible energy in their performances...they seem as if they are having the absolute time of their lives! I love seeing that in performances...
Matt McCormick all the way right now I'm listening to him sing 'come sail away' he is amazing!!!!! This is probably the 25th time in a row I am listening to him it's one if those songs u can't stop listening to and u never get tired if it. All cuz Matts singing it I LOVE him I would kill to meet him!!!!!!!
they came to my school and did a concert and then they did a workshop with us the next day and i got to speak to alll of them! and we all did a song with them
I think you hit the nail on the head. I always thought the awesome thing about shows like this and America's Best Dance Crew is unlike, say, American Idol where they're all about finding undiscovered nobodies in such a broad criteria as "mainstream music", all (or I assume at least most) of these groups are pretty well established, just within a genre that is more obscure. By gaining interest for that genre everyone wins, regardless of who *wins*.
I got to see these guys live... and then they serenaded some girl in the audience for Sweet Caroline. Haha, I was so jealous of her! They're so amazing.
my theory is they are more musical theater..two are music majors and Matt (curly haired one) has been in 20 productions and there are so many of them it overwhelms some maybe thats why. i personally love these guys to bits especially Matt. those eyes and the voice, SWOON!..anyway thats just my thoughts.
100% agree. (with PokerJoker811) It's not that I think Nota wasn't talented, but they didn't show nearly the same range as the bubs. The bubs had such a varied approach and throughout the course of the contest they proved they could handle virtually anything. No other group went to such great lengths to show that, and in the case of nota they tended to prove the exact opposite. For example, I really enjoyed nota's "down"...until they changed the song completely.
I love how many people think the Bubs should have won. But they don't get how big of an achievement it was for Nota to hold their own against the Bubs while having half as many members. I mean, yeah they pulled most of their songs into Puerto Rico, but that's why they won. I mean, who pulls the audience vote more often, a bunch of college boys from the winning side of life, or the group of Puerto Rican men who you know didn't get the same opportunities as the Bubs.
omg, i watch this all the time and it never gets old. while my favorite songs on this video to rock out to are right round and teenage wasteland, my favorite of all these songs is when penn did sweet caroline. his voice just makes me melt like butter. i think they are doing WAY better than nota. i mean, the bubs have made like six or more arrangements on glee and provided the backround vocals. and has nota been offered something like that on a popular tv show like glee? I THINK NOT! I LOVE BUBS!
are talking about season 3 or the up coming season 4? that would be a shame if they would not sung anymore the warbles songs, because their songs were my favorites from glee
@nubnubnub1 Vocal nod to Nota? Do you know how hard it is to coordinate 12 guys like the Bubs have and have it sound this good 24/7. Not easy. Go look up some of their tracks on their CD....I'm thinking very marketable. Plus- don't we have enough groups that sound like Nota already? They're Puerto Rican and faced hardship, we get it. But raw talent? Still going with the Bubs...
I loved them too, but as far as I know, versatile means contrast, dont do the same over and over....And DSar...you have to admit that those Rythims Nota brought in play (at least for me) where authentically original. Basically they made the difference between a group just doing a cover and completely rearranging a son. My humble opinion. Go BUBs!!!!
Technically, Beelzebubs is an established college group that already has a lot going for it. Nota is a more amateurish group with a smaller base. by winning, they gain a lot more recognition and have a better chance of staying together. The bubs will always be there, though. Either way, both groups are excellent even if htey are very different.
@lucasbitts i may be a little biased, but the winners of season one werent that good. they did pop and hip-hop songs and that was it. the beelzebubs are much more versatile, and i definitely think that they should have won. just in my opinion.
god a lot of people comment about me! Maybe it's just cuz I comment too much... I watch this video every day! And for people whe know the bubs names more- did I get them all right? Cuz i only know 4 of them and I want to know all their names
@PSPruler24 Everything except for sweet caroline you can find videos or recordings from previous awesomely funded and insane cd's prior Bubs on the sing-off...making sure copyrights go through limits songs to do on the show...but did NOTA sing the Jackson 5 songs, Down or Sledgehammer before the show? Right Round was musically was a mess...primarily Rhythm and minimal melodic solos with little use of other voices. Sweet Caroline was by far the easiest arrangement anyone remembers on the show
Beezlebub means Lord of the Flies.. And is also a name for a demon as it says in the Bible. In 2 Kings and somewhere else is the gospels. That's why I'm interested in knowing why they called themselves that? That's all!
haha its funny, on this page all you see are bub fans asking why didnt they win, and on a Nota video, EVERY comment is from a Nota fan. in either situation, i was glad at least one of the them won, not voices of lee :p
NOTA - winners of Season 1 are the best!!!!! Just saw their new video for "All I Want For Christmas Is You" on their channel - NOTAVOCAL ... its AMAZZINNNGGGG
@TheAllOutGirl1 First of all, my friend, I'm a ordained minister, at a church here in Milwaukee WI. I have no reason to lie, or make up any stories. I'm sorry I got the name of the winners wrong, I thought that's what my friend out in L.A. told me. Btw, I commented on the winner, before the first show aired, so how did I know then? Maybe I got advance information from a devine source? I forgive you for the "Bologna" comment, and will include you in my evening prayers...
@WarriorThirrin The Beelzebubs are out of Tufts and actually had CDs out before the Sing Off -- if you look up their university site, they have albums linked there. Tonight I watched the Sing Off finale and saw the most entertaining group get 2nd place again... *sigh* ... don't get me wrong, perhaps Nota put out amazing albums and all, but the Beelzebubs were so fun to watch -- I'm just glad they remained on throughout the competition.
So charming, makes a girls heart just melt! Well "Caroline" does... The rest is just awesome talent! They probably could have won- but these are Tufts students, Effectively Ivy League. This is a hobby. The other guys are much lesser talents but with no future and perfect for Sony to drop in to the sausage grinder of the music business. The Bubs will do very well, some will land on Broadway. But really- a Tufts degree or a short career? They tossed it no doubt.
@element74 Nothing delusional about it, just the facts maam...You must realize it's all about the mighty dollar. what about my fact filled comment do you consider delusional? Just read the blogs. All these "talent" shows, are the big hits now. The producers see dollar signs, and do anything to maximize those dollars. What I say, is from good sources, watch and see my friend, then come back and apologize.
GUYS!, it's all rigged. You'll never see a group of "well off" college kids win this show. They already have the means to cut an album, rich parents!. I know friends of the producers, and can tell you, that the poorest group, with best sound will win. They already picked "The Commitments" to win this year. Sorry to spoil it, but that how they get ratings, and ratings = MONEY...Mark my words...But it sucks not to be completely fair...
@PokerJoker811 In my opinion, both groups are incredible at singing. Granted that Nota took songs and re-created them with a Puerto Rican twist, they were still very good at what they did. That being said, Beelzebubs were my favorite of the groups with Nota being a close second. I do agree that Beelzebubs deserved to win more, but I can't agree with saying that Nota failed.
I think Nota is hugely talented and while my (many) votes went to the Bubs, I can see why Nota won. (Better them than the rest of the contestants!) But I agree. I wouldn't buy their stuff- it's not my style. Luckily I can just go buy the Bubs' records anyway. :) And I got a little sick of the rags-to-riches story when they have college degrees and whatnot. I felt like the poverty stereotype was played up a lot, which is lame.
I'd have to disagree. When you listen to Nota, after a while you just want to say "OK, you're Puerto Rican. We get it." I mean, they can't leave their comfort zone. The judges gave the final 4 a challenge song to leave their comfort zones. For the Bubs, that zone was insane, high-energy stuff. The judges gave them a traditional, romantic song: Sweet Caroline. They passed with flying colors. They gave Nota an 80's pop song, hoping they wouldn't pull the song back into Puerto Rico. Nota failed.
Alex k is the guy win the mike ... And I've become obsessed with these guys, you should see my iPod haha....I just wantto meet Eric and become friends with him (: thatbis my lifetime dream (: he is just perfect, especially in who are you and where is the love... And you can revenue hear his voice very clearly in he magical mystery tour... But anyway... These guys are just amazing
ok thats it for me! im tired of how everyone is making fun of the other groups. all the beelzebub fans are being mean to nota cuz nota won and beelzebubs didnt and thieir jealous. nota fans are being mean to beelzebubs cuz beelzebub fans are being mean to nota. so just stop! both groups made it to the final two. theyre the top two singing groups in the country! their both great people so stop being mean to eachother! sure, they both deserved it, but nota just got more peoples votes. thy bth roc
yeah i figured it out... and alex is someone else... not seen very often. but does it really matter how many "risks" they take? hmmm i dont see most of the stars (rhianna... beyonce.... and many others) getting out of their comfort zone... they sing what they are good at and they dont try to force out other things... the reason we like them is for thweir style not for trying to be something they are not..
This is a Tufts University extracurricular club. A fun hobby. They are AMAZING! They have a lot of depth too. See how many leads they use? And the pathetic NOBO or whoever won... This songs makes me go all squishy girly inside! So kawaii romantic! Beautiful performances all throughout though. Amazing work from college kids having fun.
@Juvchan It's true that their arrangements are selling like crazy, but they aren't getting the recognition for it openly, most people don't realize that they are arranging them. also, i think they are the real winners here, because Nota hasn't really done anything with their win. it's just like American Idol. Second place owns.
@CWengerd95 Yes! Matt has always reminded me of Frodo He grew up in the town next to my school and some of my friends know him/his family. Just to add to the debate, I support them over Nota. Although Nota was great and sometimes was more ontune, the Bubs captured the audience in a way Nota never did. And I've seen them perform live, they're amazing.
@PokerJoker811 I agree that Nota went into the "Puerta Rican" music a little too often, but they out did the Beelzebubs on harmonies and overall talent and sound.. The B's totally rocked with their performances visually a and comically, making them more memorable. I think the ending was a fair call, but the B's are my favorite.
@jjbalishhhh--- they have 2 bass (well actually three) the super super hot one with the dark hair is Eli Seidman and the really cute one with lighter hair is Evan Powell... and the third is the guy with the mic... again his name is Alexander Koutoukis but his voice part is a bass although he is not a bass in these songs....
can anybody help me.. after seeing vaious videos I know all of their names except for two guys: In "Come Sail away" when their all lined up: the guy at the very right end, next to Nick and the guy between Tim and Paul, I believe the 5th from the left. Please somebody tell me their names!!
Nota was good... But the bubs were like ten billion times better... Their harmonics are amazing... They are soooooo entertaining!!!, and I know I could watch them perform for hours and hours and be entertained and love them so much... I would do anything in the world to meet Eric.
Btw.... I have a couple favorites because the whole thing is my fav.... But the ones that stand out are 6:15, :58, 1:56, 2:45, 3:15, 4:30, 4:38, 1:25, 4:50.... Hahaha and the sad this is that those are only a few of them... Really anythig with Eric in it suits for me :D
You can find Matt's other project, All Out, on iTunes and on myspace. (On myspace their ID is AllOutMA) It's pretty impressive stuff. When I saw Matt's other stuff I realized he was going to have a musical career whether the Bubs won or not.
they were really good singers. you just didnt like them because they didnt sing any songs you liked. quit being ignorant. bubs were my favorite, but i knew maxx factor was good too. they just didnt appeal to me.
@DerekXLhead- Beatboxer- Alexander Koutzoukis Singer of behind blue eyes- Matt McCormick Singer of who are you- Eric Morrisay Singer if sweet caroline- Penn Rosen The guy with the glasses- I'm pretty sure it's Paul Alvarez
Love the Bubs and voted for them, but I'm happy NOTA won the contract. Everybody wins - Bubs get all kinds of extra publicity to build up their tradition, and NOTA gets discovered. Enjoy it all!
@hwirstrom I go to Tufts and a couple of my friends and I figured that he must have been the love child of Frodo and Sam. It's almost uncanny how much he looks like a mixture of the two!
Beelzebubs didn't win because they already had records and things out. Nota didn't. Beelzebubs are also a college group. Don't know how the negotiations would've gone with a school.
On the first night when they sung mystery tour and Matt yelled, 'roll up roll up for the mystery tour step right this way!!' i knew these guys were gonna b funny (and my faves!!!!!)
@bobular1000---- his name is Alexander Koutoukis..... and @coleymoly5----- his name is paul alvarez and i think the guy giving the lap dance is hoootttt!!!!
@careyellow Filming Glee would take them away from school and competition too long to do both because they are on the East Coast and Glee films on the West Coast...
@chancesxfade Did you ever get an answer to your questions? These guys are an acapella group from Massachusetts. This was the first season of The Sing Off on NBC.
has anyone noticed that the bubs have worn all the colors in the rainbow. red orange yellow green blue and purple...they are a bunch of colorful boys arent they lol
And I would do ANYTHING to meet them. But mostly Matt and Eric, no offense to the other bubs but they r the BEST! I am so jealous of the people who go to school with them.
It wasn't the shows fault that they lost. It wasn't anybody fault. Nota got more votes (f*** them). And the guy with the mike has some serious talent. What's his name???
seriously!? one they dont any of the profits from that it belongs to Tufts University. this was their chance to be just The Beelzebubs and not Tufts Beelzebubs.
@careyellow completely and totally agree, Glee should use these guys! they'd fit the Warbler look perfectly and they're just as animated as any actors! :)
I love these guys sooo much!! How did they not win??? The guy who sang sweet Caroline the end there is wickedddd hot!!
I want more bubs!! :) :)
Matt McCormick all the way right now I'm listening to him sing 'come sail away' he is amazing!!!!! This is probably the 25th time in a row I am listening to him it's one if those songs u can't stop listening to and u never get tired if it. I loved them in every aspect!! They are awesome!!
I got to see these guys live... and then they serenaded some girl in the audience for Sweet Caroline. Haha, I was so jealous of her! They're so amazing.
So much passion in the "Teenage Wasteland" song. :)
@ambidreamz I think they had scheduling conflicts or something like that where the Beelxebubs weren't able to physically come to the set.
I love how the nerdy kid is the one rapping.
OMG CSI SONGS
my theory is they are more musical theater..two are music majors and Matt (curly haired one) has been in 20 productions and there are so many of them it overwhelms some maybe thats why. i personally love these guys to bits especially Matt. those eyes and the voice, SWOON!..anyway thats just my thoughts.

I think these r the guys who lend their voices for the glee club on glee called the warblers led by darren criss :)
sweet caroline!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
are talking about season 3 or the up coming season 4? that would be a shame if they would not sung anymore the warbles songs, because their songs were my favorites from glee

I loved them too, but as far as I know, versatile means contrast, dont do the same over and over....And DSar...you have to admit that those Rythims Nota brought in play (at least for me) where authentically original. Basically they made the difference between a group just doing a cover and completely rearranging a son. My humble opinion.
Go BUBs!!!!
Definately agreed... I do have my favorites though...ae: Eric (of course), eli, Evan, Penn, nick, and Alex
i love the bubs.
i cant believe they didnt win.
and you guys can have penn, eric, and alex.
i want Matt McCormick. =]
These guys should be the new warblers on glee XD
whats the name of the first who song they did?
WHERE CAN I GET ONE??
Lol, cheeky wink. Are they actually the voices of the Warblers on Glee? XD
ME TOO!!
the who mashup was great
The only guy with the microphone looks like Jack Barakat.
This might sound weird but can Alex sing good cuz we never heard him sing he only did the beatboxing
@lucasbitts i may be a little biased, but the winners of season one werent that good. they did pop and hip-hop songs and that was it. the beelzebubs are much more versatile, and i definitely think that they should have won. just in my opinion.

And for people whe know the bubs names more- did I get them all right? Cuz i only know 4 of them and I want to know all their names
HEY ITS SLYTHERIN!!!!
with long dark hair?
i think his names Alex...i could be wrong.
Well they are the 'voices' of the warblers(not including who ever sings lead on the song).
The bubs TOTALLY should have won!!! they are soooo much better than Nota!
dont you think their soloist for come sail away looks like frodo baggins????
I just relized none of them have light colored hair. Haha!
The bubs motto is "fun through song" and no other a capella group is more entertaining and exciting to watch. Love them so much!!
Their beat boxer is unbelievable. I've never heard such realistic spit-drumming since Rockapella
What I love about this group is they're not afraid to not be pretty. Their cover of the who was fantastic because it was so rough.
Bubs' beatboxer is unreal, so on point with every song.
Beezlebub means Lord of the Flies.. And is also a name for a demon as it says in the Bible. In 2 Kings and somewhere else is the gospels. That's why I'm interested in knowing why they called themselves that? That's all!

they were really good singers. you just didnt like them because they didnt sing any songs you liked. quit being ignorant. bubs were my favorite, but i knew maxx factor was good too. they just didnt appeal to me.
@DerekXLhead-
Beatboxer- Alexander Koutzoukis
Singer of behind blue eyes- Matt McCormick
Singer of who are you- Eric Morrisay
Singer if sweet caroline- Penn Rosen
The guy with the glasses- I'm pretty sure it's Paul Alvarez
@bobular1000---- his name is Alexander Koutoukis..... and
@coleymoly5----- his name is paul alvarez and i think the guy giving the lap dance is hoootttt!!!!
@careyellow Filming Glee would take them away from school and competition too long to do both because they are on the East Coast and Glee films on the West Coast...
@chancesxfade Did you ever get an answer to your questions? These guys are an acapella group from Massachusetts. This was the first season of The Sing Off on NBC.
has anyone noticed that the bubs have worn all the colors in the rainbow.
red
orange
yellow
green
blue
and purple...they are a bunch of colorful boys arent they lol
And I would do ANYTHING to meet them. But mostly Matt and Eric, no offense to the other bubs but they r the BEST! I am so jealous of the people who go to school with them.
It wasn't the shows fault that they lost. It wasn't anybody fault. Nota got more votes (f*** them). And the guy with the mike has some serious talent. What's his name???
@Generationd20 Excuse me, but the Bubs were clearly the best last season...
This makes me laugh every time!
seriously!? one they dont any of the profits from that it belongs to Tufts University. this was their chance to be just The Beelzebubs and not Tufts Beelzebubs.
@careyellow completely and totally agree, Glee should use these guys! they'd fit the Warbler look perfectly and they're just as animated as any actors! :)
@purplekingroger All the ones last season, yeah. This season the Bubs aren't doing the Warblers songs anymore and you can reeeeeally tell.
@twihardsuperfan321 the warblers only did the backing for blackbird. the bubs did all the background vocals for the other Warblers songs.
join the club..i've got major crush on him too.what a sweet heart too.cant wait to see him and the bubs on the 5th its gonna be awesome
I'd like to see something like this for all the groups....except Maxx Factor. They sucked. Should not have made it past the first round.
@KatrinaMess because I've heard better musicality and A Capella from other groups. These guys are mediocre at best. Open your ears!
I'm sorry, I heard their first song in this compilation, and for some reason, I just burst out laughing. Talented and hilarious.
The one who sang Sweet Caroline Is Penn Rosen.....these guys are all just so amazing... But my true inspiration is Eric Morrissey
Rofl there's 361 likes and 10 dislikes, wonder which 10 idiots said they didn't like it to mess with the rating... oh well. :D
@shortigirl6789 took them off with his left hand and put them in his coat. :D don't worry, i was worrying the same thing.
magical mystery tour was the best song of the whole show...right behind is the who medley, and the jackson 5 medley by nota
@bobular1000 If you go on their channel, there's a video of him singing All the Love In the World by Nine Inch Nails.
Thanks @hahaily.
What's the leads name who sung sweet Caroline??? I haven't seen him before but he's RELLY good!!!
These guys should totally do The Social Network: The Musical. Half of them look like they were in that movie.
I want to point out that as I post this comment this video has 266 631 views while the Nota video has 141 321.
Later in an interview he said he couldn't believe he did that! But apparently he got his kiss backstage. :)
