Your take on a Chevy pickup won't sell as an EV because the price is $91,000 suggests you should have done a little more research. Most Chevy pickup trucks start at over $60,000 with an ICE engine, with some ICE pickups models, such as the high country, for over $90,000 with an ICE. Just as there are people who will pay over $90,000 for an ICE pickup, there are people who will pay over $90,000 for an EV pickup truck, or $78000 for the 3wt model. In truth, the overall price of EVs has dropped them to be close to par with the same comparable model of ICE vehicles.

Scotty, as a resident of British Columbia I can tell many horror stories as to how bad the drivers are here. There was a clip on the news showing a woman in her Tesla in rush hour traffic crossing a bridge, fast asleep. After witnessing the level of skill of the Tesla operators, I think it would be misnomer to call them drivers, they are people who sit in the left front seat.

I’m from neighboring Washington State, and I’m familiar with driving in British Columbia. Driving in your Province is a lot like driving in upstate New York, or in Pennsylvania. Compared with the Western U.S. States, B.C. has fewer freeways, and more reliance on Provincial highways that may or may not have more than two lanes. A number of Provincial routes in the greater Vancouver area run right down the middle of the downtown areas of cities like Cloverdale and Coquitlam-and they carry truck traffic. B.C. roads are built with steeper grades, sharper curves and are narrower than we expect to see in Washington and Oregon. Believe me, this is NOT a complaint, it’s just an observation! I love B.C., and its people, too. I’m glad that your Province has taken the lead in North America and acted to prevent self driving cars from ruining the motoring experience on our continent.

@JKHTX an EV battery lasts just about 200k miles on average. A ICE engine lasts about 150k miles on average. A new EV battery is more expensive than a new engine, but regardless, most engines are too expensive to justify replacing them.

They act like those classics break down when you just look at them funny, but refuse to realize they seem to be sending their vehicle to get repairs meltiple times a year. Admitedly they do abuse them too ,but still not what I'd consider 5 shop visits in a year level of abuse having seen some 70's and 80's light duty trucks that were used for work a heavier duty truck really should be doing.

Instead of focusing on a reliable, attractive car for the masses (like a RAV4 hybrid for example, 400k units per year in the US, fast as a hot hatch form the 90s, and 40 mpg) they focus on putting 700hp engines in a vehicle that cannot brake or corner safely (Wrangler). Every time they are bailed out, they make a few half-hearted attempts to compete and change their ways, then they are right back pushing V8 and other low mpg cars.

Have to give props to my local Home Depot. They gave me a $400 credit for a failed cement leveling job from their contractor long after the job was done.
Also, they replaced a facet where the finish was peeling off within the first year, whereas the manufacturer would NOT stand behind their product. I'm looking at YOU, Glacier Bay!

Glacier Bay is a Home Depot store brand. If they don't replace it, they're staring down the barrel of a PR disaster.

Battery replacement in 10 years at a cost of 1/2 the value of the new truck. The lease companies are already aware of this expense.

Saw a cyber truck a few days ago in person. I had a good laugh. That may be a great vehicle but the design reminds me of something that Homer Simpson would design. I can imagine the fun the owner will have trying to get shopping cart scratches and dings taken care of at a body shop.

Me: EV Bro, what you gonna do if your EV battery fails and you cannot re-sell it like you would an ICE car, without another $25K battery?
EV Bro: umm *chokes on chicken bone*

Why are you so concerned about people who own an EV ? It’s their money and if they want to buy an electric vehicle it’s their choice. It’s really none of your business

EV batteries last about 200,000 miles on average, an ICE lasts about 150,000 miles on average. Yes and EV battery is more expensive to replace them the average car engine. But in virtually every case a vehicle engine that dies is too expensive to justify replacement anyway. So I don't know what do you do when your car dies? Buy new one right?
