- Firstly, sorry about the light! It's not actually that dark in my house but is on camera?
Secondly, the sound and pic quality, after very first bit had to swap to my crappy I phone.
Anyway in this video I go through the process of reading the ISN from a Siemens MSD80 ECU then writing the info into the CAS module. Using the Autel IM608 in the video, its a good tool but there are better for this type of job.

So entering 00000000 as the EGS ISN does that cause an issue if its an Auto (EGS)

Hello, didn't you need to re-program the keys on bench before going to obd work?
I supposed that as the CAS is renewed, then it will not accept the old keys. Am I right?
I have a 2010 535i e60/e61. Was trying to backup the ecu to update for key programming using the im608. First part of the 5 minutes passed which was good. The last 5 minutes it crashes and failed. Car no longer starts. Autel tells me to pull out the ecu, solder the wires on and read the eeprom and flash for they can give me a new file. I need help soldering it on. Can you help ?

Will this 100% still use the original keys that go to the cas module? It would be pretty bad if the original keys are useless and have to program new keys.
Hi thank you for the video. Very helpful. I have a question I’m hoping you’d be able to answer. Can I replace an msd80 with any msd80? As long as it’s cloned to the car? E.g I have a faulty msd80 from a n53, can I get an msd80 from any other engine code? I have a Ktag so can clone ecu using that.

I Wes stuck on the renew part I didn't know you could input the 8 zeros for the egs isn # I had tried 12345678 and I believe I tried 1111111 it didn't work also I can't wait to do the job now knowing what needs to be done . When you have a problem in the transmission because of the isn the car will not apply changes so it is not recommended to change the isn remember it is a case not an ews

Hi there. My wife has a 2015 330i M Sport Touring which is begging for a B58 swap. Is it possible to make the car accept the 6 cyl ecu? Would be using a write off car as a donor so engine, loom and ECU as a set. Regards, Ryan
Hi Ryan, yes the ECU, FEM/BDC and key from the donor will do the job. If donor is before mid 2017 should be a direct plug in FEM with no wiring required

I wonder is it a similar idea with a Mercedes ecu? I’ve got a Mercedes van with a suspect engine ecu that needs replacement!
Some Mercedes are pretty simple. Is it EDC16? Just get used ECU, renew and program

I buy from Autowave, tbf the price is good, I charge these out at £150. Unfortunately they don't seem to do them with the emblem anymore. Emirates Keys does the emblem ones, but dont think you will get deliveries from them until covid19 is sorted

Yes exactly that. On some you can change the ISN in the ECU but these I just change it in the CAS and once running update VIN in ECU diagnosticaly
@@SpeedTweaks how do you change the vin by diagnostic? I did ISN write on dme in an X5 while back but wanted to write vin too but didn't know how or what to use
