I've visited Epic three times now and am about halfway through the various indoor tours. Of all the TH-cams that I've watched of Epic self-guided tours, this one duplicates the feelings I've had while wandering the halls and rooms. Thanks!

Your healthcare dollars on display as an Electronic Medical Records theme park.

I didn't say taxes, I said healthcare dollars. But now that you bring it up, taxes made a significant contribution to Epic's success, through the HITECH act in ARRA.
NOTE: That's a reply to this comment that was deleted after I posted my reply:
Spacecadet_3000 replied: "Epic is a private company hahaha, and obviously one that has made a ton of money - you really think taxes are going toward this?"

Is your son enjoying it? I have a friend who is considering working there. He is wondering if it will live up to all the hype.

Thank you for your comment...I have read that they have a pretty low turnover rate and that everyone who i have talked to seems to be very happy but yes i am sure they do have turnover but they do hire young people that are not sure what they want to do. All i can say its a super cool campus and if i was younger i would love to work there !

@@LifeOfPuddles where are you seeing a low turnover rate??? They have one of the highest turnover rates in the industry, and its not close.

You must be from LA or something lol. I have skiied to work in Michigan winters to wash cars in sub freezing temps. Among that turnover rate, I wonder how many were rich kids going into their first job? Lol.

Why do they only hire young people? Like < 35 yo?

@@Citrusfruits50because the job is very demanding, with bad work life balance. Epic they usually hire new college graduate who are top of their class and have them work on project 50 hours a week. They do pay well (70k starting for 23 years old) is good pay but it’s work work work. It can get tiring

@@username15yearsago52 spot on. Starting pay is even higher now, especially if you have any experience in any IT field. Horrible culture, leadership, and work load, but great pay/benefits and campus.

Heck no. Idk how that enormous compound could be sustainable. What will the 10 winters do to all that outdoor stuff? It will start looking like a sad, abandoned amusement park in a few years. Lots of gimmicks to attract young new tech grads but the offices they work in are windowless white rooms with no decor. They're currently only offering $24/hr for accounting positions. It all feels very contrived and fake but you're still doing a soul sucking tech job. And that campus is an abomination on the beautiful landscape, desecrating the Driftless Area and doing permanent damage to the land. Epic fail.
