Gilmour and Bairnson are very much alike in phrasing and note choices. Not saying that one stole from the other by any means! Just remarking on how these two icons of guitar could easily cover each other's material.
Brilliant, what a distinctive guitarist he is. Even early days with Pilot - check out Morin Heights album, (some of his best stuff on here). This was great as well, even if the boss was watching over his shoulder :)
Thanks Mr. Bairnson for all your music. Your art makes you immortal.
Descansa en paz , nos queda tu magia en la guitarra
What a guitarist the big man is,In a past life he was a member of 70's group Pilot.and played the guitar outro on Kate Bush's Wuthering Heights.
Super Beautiful grazie
RIP Ian
Ian bairson mi fai sognare da quando ero piccolo
Definitely Ian is one of my favourite guitar players of all times, I also love David Gilmour, Jeff Beck and Brian May`s style...
... and Andrew Latimer?
@@fmtfniuprog8029 Naaa.... John Goodsall
Wow... I had no idea how good he is. I grew up with Pilot.....what an amazing player.
RIP one of rock's most underrated guitarists.

Certainly one of Shetland's greatest electric guitarists.
😭😍 straight into soul
Amazing!!! He is the master!!!
Ah, yes...Cloudbreak. One of his best guitar pieces with Alan.
What a guitarist he'll run circles around Gilmour because he can get from rock to jazz easily not an easy feat
@Radio K.A.O.S. David is the famous PF guitarist, but Ian was even more versatile than David!
Ian is very good with guitars on every song
Speechless... great, great touch.
master of changes, too!
Amazing! Cloudbreak is one of my favourite Parsons instrumentals. Is there any more video of this tour?
Gorgeous
Trieste, may 1998, FIRST ITALIAN CONCERT of ALAN PARSONS, cameraman David B.
Guido Montini oh, thanks
If I was a record producer Ian would be my first call for electric guitar.
He was Alan Parsons main man on all those classic albums.
magnifico!!!

世界でもっとも過小評価されているギタリストNo1! センスの塊。
now that is telling a story...........
Bel brano......Complimenti.
Does anyone have video of him playing the wuthering heights solo....
Live in Trieste 1998...?
🙏🌹😔
Love the Kate bush solo
What was this concert?
I'm positive Gilmour tips his hat. Very nice!
His style reminds me of Gilmour
DEP Aart .....
ok,..this is Pink Floyd, right?
***** yeah, it's David Gilmore of the Alan Parsons project that used to play for Pink Floyd, but was kicked out for snorting LSD
Probably as old as Gilmore so who stole whose effects pedals back in the day when they were just invented
Not the pedals, the sound is right from playing and fingers and heart
In Ian's case the effects were all post-production from Alan Parsons, he's stated all the APP solos and such were guitar straight into amp.
