Gu53cUa I admit that some dictionaries do give that overgeneralized definition, but in popular media it's almost always used when you outmaneuver someone that is trying to put you down (verbally or in sports). Olga wasn't even talking to Gerard, let alone trying to put him down. This is why I'd say it's more correct to say it was just a witty comment instead of a comeback.
