@@dindjarin5132 No, It is canon that obi-wan made changes to the hilt so it would be easier to train Luke with it. It is thicker, the black grips are larger and it has a clasp for his belt buckle, all changes made by obi-wan _post_ episode 3. It is Anakin's base hilt with so many changes to it that it was considered Luke's.

KALOS619 Gaming No, not those. Those are collectible props (Force FX) by Hasbro and Master Replicas, not suitable for dueling with. First Force FX Lightsaber was made in 2002 by Master Replicas. Movie props didn't have any electronics, but metal pipe as a blade (ANH used motors in the handles). They started using lighten up versions in the production of TFA, but those were designed for dueling.
Oh and I forgot, they used lighten up sabers in the production of Attack of the Clones. But only in one scene (Dooku fighting Anakin in the dark) But still, those were not collectible replicas.

+TopDog69 If you watch some behind the scenes stuff you can see Lucas telling them to change how they're acting, which is something the director is supposed to do I guess but Lucas gives them BAD advice. He also changes entire scenes while shooting, which also throws the actors off.

I have a few and yeah, I do.
I had a friend in college that would bring his (they were a pretty pricey version that you could duel with but also lit up) and we’d have mock battles with another friend in the parking lot. We had to stop after dusk because campus patrol thought it may be “distracting.” But seriously, the end of the first day I handed mine back while bouncing on my toes and said, “Will you bring your sabers back again soon so we can play again!?” I was instantly mortified, but just beamed at him anyway. 😂 I always favored a double bladed one, and now I actually have learned how to use a bo staff, so I wish I could thank him for helping me figure that out.
Now that people can take saber classes for fun or exercise, I kinda wanna do it! Nothing like being active AND having a ton of fun. 😅

+Darktendo Ian McDiarmid was only in the theatrical cuts of ROTJ in the original trilogy. The Emperor from Empire was played by another actor. A woman, actually... The original actor was replaced with Ian in one of the recent rereleases. I can't remember if it was for the Special Edition in 1997, or the later DVD or BluRay releases, which also had some adjustments.

He knows that it's not Obi Wan's light saber. He simply means that it was the one Obi Wan had in the movie that he took from Anakin and gave to Luke
I think he just meant that it was a blue saber. It may have been Obi-Wan's saber or Anakin's but as long as it was blue. It would be so weird seeing Obi-Wan weilding a green lightsaber. Actually I think that Luke is the only one to have 2 different colors during the saga.

I think Ewan McGregor was one of the best things in the prequels, and Obi-Wan is my favorite Star Wars character. But I think Disney is unfortunately trying to avoid prequel related stuff. I would much rather see spin of movies of Mace Windu , Plo Koon or some other Jedi instead of a Han Solo or Bobba Fet movie.

At least with the "owning a droid" thing, he was correct. R4 was just assigned to the Delta-7 and Eta-3 starfighters he was assigned to during the Clone Wars. Anakin also used to have an R4 assigned to him but it got blown up, then Padme gave R2 to him as a graduation present when he was knighted.

I think it’s because of the current trilogy. Knowing more about Kylo’s father may impact how we see Kylo. Snoke was going on about his father’s heart, etc. I think I, grudgingly, understand more about how growing up with Han Solo for a parent would be after Solo; before I wasn’t sure how that had probably gone so it left a lot of room for what Kylo’s upbringing was like. So I think it’s the impact on the current films.
Obi-Wan’s story is over now. So it impacts the trilogy far less. Unless he’s Rey’s grandfather or something and that’s why she heard his voice in The Force Awakens. 🤷🏻♀️ At that point, I’d be more pissed about Solo. I still didn’t love putting Obi on the back burner. He’s my favorite character and seeing that time period and his story would have been awesome. I was the perfect age when a series of young young adult books about him becoming Qui-Gon’s apprentice came out and seeing how they’d adapt that (or not) would be interesting as well. The line he walked with the code, the anger and attachment, but his feeling of a higher calling, he’s such a good character that resonates with everyone, is in the OT and prequels, so he has crossover in the fan base, it just makes sense to do his story.
So again, my only thought for why they did Solo was the current trilogy. I don’t agree. But it’s all I can come up with. I know they had a reason; it may have been a stupid reason, but they didn’t just do it without thought, because it behooves them to plan, so they can make more money. 🤷🏻♀️

They wouldn't be able to do it. In the scene they slam their sabers into each other. The sabers were only used for 1 fight, then a new one was crafted basically on stage. They bent very easily.

JohnSmith96 It's about time someone see this but I would say the direction is what needed some serious help. Thankfully we will get that from JJ Abrams when he directs the next 3 Star Wars movies. Finally Star Wars will achieve it's full potential!!!
JohnSmith96 Im not worried one bit about Disney and i'll give you 2 reasons why. 1. Disney bought ILM the special effects company that was created to make Star Wars - originally. 2. Disney doesn't only do kids shows and movies. They do have an rated R division. Until 2010 Disney owned Miramax which is responsible for "Pulp Fiction" and "Kill Bill" among other hardcore flicks. And for me the bonus is JJ Abrams at the helm! I love what he did with Star Trek and I can't wait to see what he does with Star Wars...!
The script was okay, it was the direction and execution of the story where it all fell apart. But despite that, he was really good.
So that whole idea Disney has about a Obi-Wan spin off starring Ewan McGregor, yeah, fantastic idea.
