I just got back from a little town in Maine, and the gossip really is like this. I am trying and failing, to watch this episode without waking my husband with my laughter.
My family has been re-watching Murder She Wrote recently. And we always feel bad for Grady. Not just for his failed romances, but all of the really crumby jobs he gets and how many times he is a murder suspect. He is such a sweet puppy of a guy and terribly naive. We have been tempted to trace his history just to see how rough and up and down the character's life is.
I like how it's in Oregon,my state and yet they all sound like country bumpkin hicks. And of course it had to do with prostitution 🙄 atleast the women are willing

By nine I watched Sleepy Hallow by Tim Burton and fell in love with it. By seven I think I had watched most of the National Lampoon's vacation movies which are rated R IIRC.

Season 5s JB as in Jailbird. I love that one and we get to see Grady be the worst detective of all times. There is literally eye holes cut from a newspaper as a "disguise" to spy on someone. As always a hilarious episode and a great relief after a terrible day. Keep up the awesome videos.

The title's a play on the movie "If it's Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium," a rom-com about a European tour. Re. Jess and men. Personally, I never bought that she and Len Cariou's characters weren't in rooms with an adjoining door...

I remember watching this episode on Netflix with my mum (who was around to see Murder, She Wrote on television in the late 80s/early 90s, and is over 50 now seeing it again) over summer break. Needless to say, we had different degrees of recognition with the tropes, twists, and character types in the episode, but we both liked the ending as neither of us expected the mail man, despite knowing about the lottery and the wife's history of depression/dissatisfaction with her life. Trying to pin it on someone who is seen as a paragon of virtue, with a side life as a 'boy toy' for the local older women, was ingenious, especially with the back up suspect of the beauty parlor owner.
I have been absolutely loving the latest Murder, She wrote videos! So much so that I've just gone and bought a box set with all the seasons on DVD and it's great :D
Might I suggest the episode “Keep the Home Fries Burning” as a future consideration? I think it’s a fairly good Cabot cove one, and it’d make an interesting comparison with the episode where everyone nearly died (I won’t say why). It’s one of my favorite episodes.
FYI Ruth Roman (Loretta) was in _The Baby_ from 1973, one of those bizarre B-movies with lots of scenery chewing that are so fun to watch. 3:49 I love that they actually broke away from the phone call to show Seth and Jess hiding the pie from Amos 😄 This was definitely a fun episode, and one of the few that I was able to figure out, albeit mostly from understanding the show's formula when I noticed the missing ticket rather than competent sleuthing skills. one of the things i loved about Murder She Wrote was the little way they made reference to old movies and things ... like the references to Arsenic and Old Lace in the Applegate sisters ... and the reference to the old movie If its Tuesday it must be Belgium in this episode ... i imagine the writers had a riot thinking up ways of incorporating the little hints 🤣🤣

I've never watched a single episode of Murder, She Wrote until finding your channel. I'm not sure I would have enjoyed it as much without your fun, interesting, and well-informed commentary. I love having no idea how the episodes are going to play out and watching your videos is like discovering a new show with a friend who loves it and wants to share their love with you. Honestly I don't care which episode you do next, just keep them coming. Heck I would say begin with episode 1 and just look at them all. But that's alot of work. So grateful for any.
Please, please, please do "We're Off To Kill A Wizard" (S1E7) so you can do a Joker tie in (its an episode with a young Joaquin Phoenix). Plus it is a fun episode! Jessica takes her (insert relatives title here) kids to a "murder theme park" where they stage murders and the owner pranks everyone.

Fun Fact: its a fairly common law for any crime committed that results in a death to automatically be considered a higher charge. If you broke in, your intentions don't matter, your crime is elevated. It varies between jurisdictions but one variant is where what would normally be manslaughter becomes say murder in the second degree (or maybe its third?).
Love your videos which I just found tonight. And this episode is my very favorite. There's no other episode quite like it, subjectwise, but even more so, the farcical timing and rhythm. And lots of little fabulous moments, a bunch of which you touched on here. In case you don't know, the title is a play on a 1969 comedy about American tourists in Europe, "If it's Tuesday, This Must be Belgium." Oh, also, wanted to mention that I've read that it was actually Angela Lansbury who did not want Jessica to have a love interest. I've never watched a single episode of Murder, She Wrote until finding your channel. I'm not sure I would have enjoyed it as much without your fun, interesting, and well-informed commentary. I love having no idea how the episodes are going to play out and watching your videos is like discovering a new show with a friend who loves it and wants to share their love with you. Please, please, please do "We're Off To Kill A Wizard" (S1E7) so you can do a Joker tie in (its an episode with a young Joaquin Phoenix). Plus it is a fun episode! Jessica takes her (insert relatives title here) kids to a "murder theme park" where they stage murders and the owner pranks everyone.

Fun Fact: its a fairly common law for any crime committed that results in a death to automatically be considered a higher charge. If you broke in, your intentions don't matter, your crime is elevated. It varies between jurisdictions but one variant is where what would normally be manslaughter becomes say murder in the second degree (or maybe its third?).

Love your videos which I just found tonight. And this episode is my very favorite. There's no other episode quite like it, subjectwise, but even more so, the farcical timing and rhythm. And lots of little fabulous moments, a bunch of which you touched on here.
In case you don't know, the title is a play on a 1969 comedy about American tourists in Europe, "If it's Tuesday, This Must be Belgium." Oh, also, wanted to mention that I've read that it was actually Angela Lansbury who did not want Jessica to have a love interest. She wanted to show that woman could have a full happy life without a man, and without "replacing" the husband she'd lost.

Love your videos! My wife is a big MSW fan, and I get a kick out of them. I think that the inherent silliness of the concept is leavened by the quality of the production and the actors.
