Amen, brother. “And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:” 1 Peter 1:17 KJVAAE
This cuts deep! Let us work out our salvation with fear and trembling, allowing the Holy Spirit to work in us. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
@@andrewvidler6693 Don't you agree that one Bible verse does not contradict or oppose any other Bible verse? If you do agree that all Bible verses agree together and are all authored by God Himself, then consider Romans 10 : 13.
such a beautiful sermon, and people gave this wonderful preacher of GOD thumbs down, wow.well i guess this type of salvation is not good for those who has itching ears
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Amen

I grew up in the church as well in the 60’s and early 70’s and never heard the Gospel preached like this sermon. Tozer was so right in his disdain for easy evangelism back in his day.
Am not understanding: Is Accepting Jesus and following his teachings in your whole life with action the theme, or is Accepting Jesus and acquiring Heaven the main thing?
Honest question: Isn't salvation and dicipleship two different things? First we get saved, become born again, then we learn to dedicate our lives to him? It's not that I don't want to do Gods will for my life but I am deadly afraid that if I do it in order to be saved I'll go to hell.
Good question. To put it simply, there's nothing wrong with desiring to spend eternity with God. 2 Peter 1:10 Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble 11 for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you.
But that passage talks about not being nearsighted christians who "forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins." - meaning they are indeed saved but does not think much of it and are "ineffective and unproductive". It encourage us to workout on our calling so we get a "receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom". I don't see how this has anything to do with becoming/staying saved?
"It's not that I don't want to do Gods will for my life but I am deadly afraid that if I do it in order to be saved I'll go to hell." 2 Peter 1:11 for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you. My point was that it's OK to desire to be saved in order to enter the kingdom of Heaven. If you did not love God, you would not have any desire whatsoever to do His will or to spend eternity with Him.
Good question XePixels. Salvation is what God does for the sinner through faith in Christ .He justifies or declares the sinner righteous. Discipleship is a live surrendered to Christ in service . Mathew 28:20 teaching them to keep all I have commanded them , that’s discipleship, becoming like Jesus in our daily lives. It is the saved persons response to God in Christ in obedience. If you’re truly saved , you cannot help it but to become a disciple to your Savior. It’s a disciplined life of service and obedience in sanctification. Only a saved person can become a disciple. I hope this helps . Blessings PS - And you are right. Here’s why you fear . Ask Jesus to purify your heart and change your motivation. “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.” 1 John 4:18 ESV www.bible.com/59/1jn.4.18.esv
That is truth, after we claimed to have accepted Jesus, we must be careful not to be under a false hope, many have believed in vain
yes brother Amen
The Cross is obedience to God and the love of mankind .......so simple so beautiful explained in that way
workout on your salvation with fear n trembling- philippians 2:12

"If you don't know how to be saved... just call on God, saying, 'Lord, be merciful to me a sinner.'"
No, that is not enough!! Get the Bible out and search the scriptures... Acts 2:37 and then the answer in verse 38 is what we must DO to be saved!!

Easy believeism has led thousands astray.

The main Theme is God himself. If we love God, we will naturally desire to follow His teachings and to be with Him in eternity.
