Thank you Kurt for showing our Ministry of Tourism how tourists are suffering on their way to the pyramids! Every time we go we can't enjoy peacefully because of what we call the pyramids mafia! This is a call to our Minister of Tourism to put an end to this mess please!!! It's a shame how one of the greatest wonders of the world is neglected like this!

I just advise you to go to these places with a good company because most people in Egypt are generous and have good morals but there are some people who try to use tourists for money like any country and I'm really sad about that because it distorts our image . don't pay anything you don't want to pay and make sure of the price before you pay and it would be good to have an English speaking Egyptian friend with you to deal with these things and you just enjoy your visit because Egypt is a really amazing country . We took horses after we have already decided on the price but in the middle of the way they stopped and demanded more money ☻ . Best way to avoid this is to actually read the reviews about the place before visiting. Now whenever i need to go I totally avoid taking any sorts of transportations inside the area ..

I lived in Egypt 6 months in 2007, people harassing and trying to take your money everywhere. I did have good experiences too, but saying that you are the most friendly in the world and that you can have some problems only today because of the financial crisis are both lies.
