I knew the gentleman that lived there as a kid my dad and I and the family used to swim their fish there and take her over there with Mr Rodney Costa. My aunt Bertha and Uncle Mars used to live up the road which is now belhaven lake campground
Thank you for your comment on my shoetwave bandcan. I guess you found my Herman City videos. The stump with the fungus was where the oak stood with an orange paint ribbon on it, I believe. At the end of this video is a buttonwood that took damage during the fire that burned down the hotel 6-15-87. At 10:04 you point the camera at the spot where the Hotel once stood.
The trees lining the Mullica were planted by Leon Koster before WW2 -- probably earlier in the 20s. He lived in the hotel. The trees lining your walk along the path to the river were not there 20 years ago. They began to grow since then.
I have the same problem posting video on TH-cam. Higher resolution video is unmercifully compressed by TH-cam. I have not found a way to fix it. TH-cam is designed for baseband camcorder video or video taken off VCR tapes. Obviously, TH-cam needs to upgrade their parameters.
Hi, To my knowledge I have seen all your Pine Barrens videos. I once sent a comment to you regarding them, wondering whether you had made all of them into a documentary or anything. You said you had not. I was working at Batsto during the time you were there. We used to drive into Hermann City once or twice a week to empty the trash barrel that used to be there. Also, I remember seeing the hotel before it burned down. I have many photos of the old oaks that were cut down. I live nearby.
Too bad it was overcast, again. That Mullica river sure is huge, I dont think we have such wide and long rivers here on LI. That Cedar Swamp sure looks nice.
Yes. actually I did make a video documentary in 1989. The videos i posted were the original footage that I used to make the 26 minute documentary. I showed the documentary to the Batsto Citizens Committee, Hammonton Historical Society and the Evesham Historical Society. I gave a copy of it to Batsto. After 20 years, the raw video footage works better and is more value to researchers. I may re-edit it at some time to put out another video.
@MrJeffHardyFan222 That's cool. Well now you know. I would have to re-watch this video, to know what all I said while shooting. But yeah, I'm familiar with Bel Haven, though I've never camped there. Thanks
Thats funny cause Im watching your video while in my trailer out in bel haven!Great place out here man and just took me a nice swim in lake!Cool video and I went to Archway school in Washington Township when I was a kid and we used to cut out and go hang back in the woods!Lol

I remember the oak tree in the driveway had a yellow ribbon spray painted on it. I have a ghost story for that house
