As soon as that final day comes, it is going to be emotional. It feels very sad still, this news programme will never be the same without Jon Snow at the helm. 32 years of the colourful ties, the opening and closing monologues, his warm humour and energy he has given to Channel Four News and also to Channel 4 in general cannot be underestimated.
One of the best British television journalists / newscasters ever. He has graced this show with absolute distinction and professionalism and has made it what it is today.
My favourite memories that is still fresh of him is of that hilarious Rickroll video and the Nelson Mandela video .

I have been watching you since the beginning, and this has been a very moving reminder of all the events we have heard you commentate on over the years. Your departure feels like the end of an epoch in more ways than one... I would be very interested to see any future documentaries you make...your 'long eye' over the last 50 years will be so needed!

Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦 and Treaty Seven Territory. This is the first time I have really heard of Jon Snow, but of course he is familiar as I recently follow this channel. Wonderful career! Makes me feel my age too watching this trip down memory lane from 1976 onward. 1976 was a milestone year because my high school social studies class went to Leningrad and Moscow. My first and most surreal international adventure. Jon’s life is an almost a continuous international adventure. Best wishes on the next phase of your career! ✨😺💫

There is so much wrong with this interview, hard not to critique it. ‘Let by gone be by gone let’s forget the past’, a startling statement from Mandela and a seriously erroneous one in my view. That’s led to the mess SA is in today. But back to the interview. This obsession to memory hole facts is littered across this interview. Really don’t we know the triggers that removed the shah of Iran which led to unintended consequences, or the Berlin Wall symbolism, which has now led to NATO taking over the role of the NAZI, urinating all over the region and now we are on the precipice of WW3 due to its corruption and stupidity. Let’s not even talk deeply about Amin. My point is this could have been a piercing interview to tear through the facade of narratives and understand why these state sponsored stations create well “state propaganda”. In the end with this interview we are left with surface leftist cliches that panders to emotions.
