I briefly mention it in this video for the sole purpose of acknowledging that it's a thing and to state that above all else I support the *groups* involved and hope each of them comes out of this okay. I teared up the first dozen times watching this. The outpouring of support for the girls has been so heartwarming. They've just recently started talking on Phoning again and it was such a healing moment for bunnies and I'm sure Minji, Danielle and Hanni. I really hope Hyein and Haerin are doing well too
This song was used and debuted co-incidentally for a Japanese Shampoo company for an CM theme song (advert) but wasnt specifically written for it, but this MV is a pre-release video for their double single comeback on 24 May of "How Sweet" (title) and "Bubble Gum" (which will be released South Korea and Japan).
They have a 2nd double single due on 21 June "Supernatural" (title) and "Right Now". I think this will be their Official Japanese debut but will be released in South Korea and worldwide also. "Right Now" will debut also as a CM track in South Korea and Japan in May.
Then they have a Bunnies Camp FanMeeting in Tokyo Dome on 26 and 27 June as their first Japanese Concerts.
There is a new album coming in the latter part of 2024 and a World Tour in 2025.

They will also release another double single on June 21st called "Supernatural" and "Right Now"

The double singles will also include instrumental versions of each song. And they're planning on a full album later this year... Hopefully. And it was just announced that the teaser for Right Now will be released on 4/30/24

I apologize in advance for making this comment a long af one:
I feel like the thing with NewJeans is they step up their game with every single comeback. The quality of their music, the genius creativity... every time they release a new song they make our jaws drop. I get what you said about it being easy to think a group's latest release is your new favourite one, and then usually after you get used to it you are able to be more objective and see whether that's really the case. But when it comes to NewJeans I truly believe they outdo themselves with every release. We might feel more emotionally attached to an older song but you can still tell the vocals, the production and the quality of their music improves, even when you thought it was impossible for it to get any better.
When I heard and watched the MVs for Ditto and Cool with you, I thought that was it... I thought "If you look up in the dictionary the definition of art, this is what comes up". I do still think those are just genius masterpieces, and they are very different to Bubble Gum, but the production, the vocals, adlibs, entonation, delivery, MV, every single detail in Bubble Gum feels like it's just their absolute best.
Side comment: I think this is the song and MV that represents them the best, and I guess that's also what makes it so special. As I see it, this song is very much about them and their bond. I didn't get the "romantic love vibes" from it, I just got love vibes. Ever since they released it, whenever I'm feeling blue this song is able to make me smile and even brings happy tears to my eyes. It's their smiles, their sisterhood, them having fun with the smallest simplest things, the pure angelic voices combined with that slow lower key rap. It just SCREAMS NewJeans.
I thought the song was kinda boring at first but now I think it's a good chill jam and I even play it at work
the flute you mention at 3:07 sounds very similar to a sample from hey dj by 'world famous supreme team' used a lot in the 90s by rnb acts (most notably in mariah careys 'honey' and swv's 'anything).. its not the same but sounds very similar... also the ad libbing parts (which i think is minji..sounds like her) sound really similar to a bruno mars song ... although i cant remember which one.. its one from his 'funk' phase though :)

Whatever happened right now, NewJeans members are the one will be hurt. Like Mom and Dad fight, the son will be struggle. I don’t care anything about the drama but please don’t hurt them. People are being drawn away by the side story but their comeback. We need to pay more attention to the comeback.
Literally just me looking for any moment to ship Danielle and Haerin.. even in Their main channel Nwjns "Light jeans" or more playlist they have on their main channel they are just so damn fruity I mean everyone is fruity but Danielle and Haerin are just FRUITY FRUITY
I haven't been able to put my finger on it, but this doesn't seem to be inspired by 90s or Y2k, I think it leans more into the 70s? People keep saying it's so Y2K, but I'm unfortunately old enough to remember music from then well and even if there is some kind of 90s inspiration in there somewhere this is hitting me with soft 70s music. I could be off base, and I guess it doesn't really matter in the end anyway lol.
I’m a person who does research from actual sources before forming an opinion and I want to start off by saying that I’m a multi stan so I tend to be unbiased in these situations. (My ults are fimmies, nwjns and ive).
I know you never said that you are taking sides or “supporting” hybe and I don’t know what kind of misinformation you saw on twitter (because there is A LOT of it rn) but the hybe mediaplay blinded so many people when most of the articles they released were bunch of allegations without proof, and if they were true hybe could’ve easily taken legal action against mhj instead of pressuring her to resign.
It is unfortunate that people are using this situation to target groups when none of them are at fault. Kpop stans obsession to create drama and fan wars diverts attention from the core issue at hand and clouds peoples view of the truth. I get that everyone is trying to defend their faves but hate is never a solution.
I hope I didn’t come off as disrespectful or anything I just need people to understand that this is about a huge multi label cooperation vs one woman, bunch of greedy businessmen vs a creative, it's not just about kpop.
Just to clarify, I wasn't addressing you directly or looking to argue. I simply want to shed light on another perspective for people to consider.
