The fact that he was the only one trying to surpass all might is the reason why he won this. Everyone gave up while he kept improving striving to be better. He unknowingly was the only hero preparing for a world without all might.

There are *so many* fathers with estranged/toxic relationships with their children that will never apologize nor show remorse. Watching Endeavor's character development has - in a way - been therapeutic for me.
Gotta say he's got one of the best character development in the show.
Maybe even the best. Seeing he realized he had to change and him trying to get along with his family again was rly good. But I think he will end up dying, maybe saving one of his sons or something like that

His character definitely inspired me with my kids to put my mistakes of the past behind me and focus on what I can change for the future.
I love how he accepted the fact how the Nomu was basically him from the past or in another future. It really goes to show how he’s accepted he was a bad person and is trying to do true good now instead of just the hero part.

As incredible as this scene was, it's tragic how Dabi just undid all the goodwill it brought Endeavor by exposing his dirty laundry to the entire world. The new Symbol of Peace, All Might's replacement, abused his family for years and has a mass murdering psycho for a son. If Shigaraki helped begin the destruction of hero society physically, then Dabi sure as hell did it mentally.

Yet another perfect example, as to why My Hero Academia is an amazing anime. A lot of people never really liked Endeavor, including his own kids. But after THIS, he completely surprised everyone, including All Might. I never really like Endeavor, but after this SCENE. I was Team Endeavor all the way...
My favorite part of this scene is the shocked looks on everyone's faces see the power Endeavor can put out. In a society reeling from losing All Might and the symbol he was this was undoubtedly Endeavor's "I am here" moment.

When the music kicked back in and the reporter announced that he was still standing, I got goosebumps.
This scene has everything: the music, emotion, top tier voice acting, top tier animation, and such a powerful drive that pushes the character in the spotlight forward. Endeavor truly won all of our respect. He not only deserves to be the No.1, but also a fan favorite. I’m watching..

Can we talk about how incredible this voice actor for Endeavor is? The voice talent in this show is unbelievable!
I haven't watch too many shows where a character actually begins an atonement arc. Don't get me wrong, he did some seriously awful stuff, but Endeavor also recognizes that being a better person is 100% worth working towards, even if doing right by the people he cares about doesn't mean they'll return that feeling.

Heck, he still hasn't gotten a redemption arc. He hasn't been forgiven, nor has he redeemed himself, but we at least get to know that he's doing what he can to heal the damage he's done; which is the most he could do. I don't think there's any way for him to reintegrate into his family, but it's good to see that he's working to help them from behind the scenes. That's nuanced, complex character writing.

But Endeavor was never really at his limit. Like he said, he was holding back because his full power would incinerate all the innocent people around him. Free of those constraints, he was able to unleash everything.

Y’all telling me people are mad that this man is actually trying to become a person? Actually showing character development? Crazy.
The idea that abusers are actually people capable of change and not heartless monsters who live to do nothing but ruin people's lives scares them
It's complicated. A lot of abusive parents never improve, never put in the effort to atone, never question their actions, and never deserve to be forgiven.
So writing redemption arcs for characters who are abusive parents is delicate, because for many of the people who read and watch this, their own parents aren't going be better.
MHA does it well, with Endeavour actually going through a process of reflection and atonement for the right reasons and in the right ways, which is good and important.
But it's really easy for fiction to cheapen redemption arcs down to a single heroic act (Kylo Ren and Snape come to mind), or present them in ways that imply that people should automatically forgive their abusers (same two again), which makes people understandably cautious about their presentation in media.
He's Vegeta if Goku was deleted.
@@Ryan-jc3ip it's not that deep with the majority of endeavor's haters I assure you. Most of them is young or not very smart ppl (have zero reading comprehension skill) who doesn't find his design attactive enough to start liking/forgiving him.

His old self burned up in those flames which is why Endeavor raised his arm signaling the beginning of the new him and the beginning of his career as the Symbol Of Peace (or maybe I’m just being dramatic idk)
After watching this, remember that Endeavor reminisced in another episode about how he trained to surpass All Might, but he realized there was a "big difference" between them. It makes you wonder just how powerful All Might was in his prime.

@person person All Might had his powers passed down to him, he was given One for All. Therefore Endeavor is the strongest hero who was born with his quirk. Funny because he breeds and beats his kids into becoming strong because he thinks All Might is naturally stronger than him.

Demonslayer I believe that it was said that Mirio was probably the closest to being the number 1 hero, even among the pro heroes. Aside from that Mirio himself is indeed strong, but his quirk is hella good too after he trained it for a lomg time.
@@mackleven7 Well, in Mirio's case his quirk is not that good by itself, it becomes a strong and great quirk because Mirio made it that way and Mirio is op only against other humans, do you really think Mirio could defeat that Nomu? Endeavor's quirk was already strong by itself, and thanks to Endeavor's hard work it became even stronger.
Shoto being genuinely relieved his father was okay and won despite everything that happened in the past was so touching! Goosebumps the whole episode.

I honestly don't even really remember Seasons 2 and 3 like that; all I remember is that nearly all of the main "fights" lacked gravitas, with the only good one being Bakugo vs Deku. I was so disappointed with S3 that I didn't even pick up S4 until hella late, but I have to say, this Season was easily the most emotional one so far, besides the 1st

I love the symbolism in this fight. Endeavor is basically killing his past self to become better suited for the title of number one hero. It is a perfect start for his redemption arc.

@WasabiLover That is just what it is at now. its been hinted a bit here and there that they believe as he gets older and develops his quirk that limitation will go away, and that he will be able to do both at the same time
@WasabiLover It's still perfect for what Endeavor was trying to accomplish. He wasn't trying to create a child that could release both at the same time. He was trying to have a child who could match his flame power, but also cool himself so he would never overheat. I'm not sure Endeavor even really cares about Shoto's ice abilities at all. He just cares that it offsets the flames.

@@nivin69 He must be more worried than anyone. For decades he's been the one to defeat the strongest of villains and save the day. Now with his retirement, society is vulnerable. He's probably been dreading the emergence of the next super villain. This is the first major villain attack after his retirement that's been televised live. Being confined to the sidelines, unable to fight to protect society, it probably eats him up inside. He has faith in Endeavor, and in the next generation of heroes. But that doesn't change the fact that the years directly following All Might's retirement are going to be the most precarious.

I can totally relate to the moment where he calmed himself when he realized Endeavour survived, I always do that triangle with my hands too when I'm stressed or not feeling well and need to take a breather, it's oddly calming to me personally for some reason.
