  • My latest boring video is an almost non-stop return trip to Blyth South Beach bandstand and Seaton Sluice, including a mischievous traffic light change with botched braking. There is a glimpse of the sea. If I upload any more videos, I'll probably cut them down to a shorter length but I left this complete because my earlier experiments with camera mounts gave such bad results.

William, it's a pity you didn't show the whole of the AJS at the end...I would love to have seen what it looked like.
The video and the sound of that old AJS gentle thumper brings back warm memories for me.
In 1972 I was 19, I rode a little Honda 90 (great bike) but one day I saw an advert in our local newsagent...it was a scruffy bit of paper pinned to a notice board, and it said "Motorcycle for sale" £25. I knew nothing about bikes then, but I went to view it, a lovely old man greeted me and proceeded to show me the AJS in his garage, he told me it was an AJS Model 8 Single 350, he said he had bought it new in1960, but because of health issues he had to sell it.
Needless to say...I snapped it up!
But I was a young man and a fool...I "Choppered" it up with Ape Hanger bars, Crash bars, sprayed it in funky colours all because I'd watched the film "East Rider"....basically I destroyed a piece of British history.
Wish I still had it now...in it's original condition.
Sorry if I've waffled on a bit!

Thanks for taking the time to reply and share your story. My first bike was a Honda CD175 back in the seventies. I almost always forget to provide a view of the bike and I am trying to post a couple of photographs on the channel but you might get a glimpse of her here, if this works: th-cam.com/video/Oh6pAxy9Evg/w-d-xo.html

@@williamnethercott4364 Just had a look! Your bike is very similar, the only difference (as far as I can remember) is that my petrol tank was mainly chrome and the chain guard was was 50% exposed and not fully enclosed like yours.
      Thanks for the update.

@@johnzenkin1344 The fully enclosed chainguard does a good job.

Thank you. Paul's channel is excellent! I never really expected anybody to look at my channel. I'll bear your comment in mind whenever I make another video but I have no idea when that will be at the moment.
