    my father has a cb1300 as well he races his bikes every now and then truely a beast for its era it can gap sport bikes at least untill 160kph i remember my father racing down a mountain against a bunch of his friends with their sport bikes he was pushing this gorilla so much in both corners and straights he end up pulling over and waiting for over 2 to 3 minutes for his terrified friends to catch up they where dumbstruck wondering as to how a bike that is heavy, large and doesn't have a very high top speed could go that fast in such narrow roads

    Reminds me of my '84 Yam FJ1100 also a capable sport tourer that in those days was difficult to match.

      True. Fond memories of a '90 black FJ1200, loved riding it but never track day'd it Unfortunately.

    The CB13 is leaving other riders for dead under brakes which not what I would have expected.

      it's the rider, not the bike

      Thats the main difference between a street rider and a racer (corner entry in my opinion). Braking, track position, entry speeds, using all of the track instead of half or less. And getting used to way more grip level with your tires finally being warmed up. instead of huge eyes and white knuckles on the straight, thats where you are supposed to relax. I think the multistrada made every single mistake I just pointed out. You could tell the 1300 Honda was taking it way easy entering so tight, gassing it early, and still making the corner with ease. if he moved to the racing line he could trim several more seconds a lap off. And you can see just about every other rider had a faster bike. Its the extra speed that messes up your corner entry . You never learn how hard you really can push the corners. Even on a track. start with a small bike, you will progress way faster. I bet you turn this same guy loose with a ninja 400 and if these guys dont get in the way to screw up his corner speed the end result would be the same. Definately the rider 80% bike 20%.

    I just went back to a CB1300 after being on a VFR800 for many years. I only live half an hour from Manfeild. Looking forward to getting the super four out for a hoon.

      Good choice. Though the VFR800 are good bikes for different reasons, the retro CB just puts a bigger smile on the dial. So smooth, comfy, grunty and good looking to boot👍

    What exhaust system are you using?

    • @multihull40
      @multihull40  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Scorpion muffler on standard pipes with standard air filter. Baffle removed with no performance gain (actually seemed to go a bit better with baffle in) GoPro mic on the tail light was used to record sound.
