I just got fired at the beginning of the month, basically for “quiet quitting”. The reality is I stopped letting myself get exploited and started working 8:30am - 5pm instead of staying till 6-7 everyday. I was salaried and told I wasn’t being a team player. The good news is I’d been looking for a new job for a month before they asked me to leave, I think I’ll be fine!

As someone who wanted to be a baker or a chef for most of my life but somehow ended up as an accountant, hearing Trevor talk about his struggles in the food service industry is so validating. I never would have been able to do that

That defintion of success - the whole "do I currently think my life is worth living" - is how I think I'd like to start defining success for myself because that's a constant thought I have anyway. It just makes sense! (Also that hoodie is actually everything. 10/10. Absolutely love)
And can we briefly acknowledge how beautiful jamie's laugh is to listen to?

When I was 19-21 I was exploited for 2 & 1/2 years by the company I worked for for hundreds of hours of unpaid labor. I did get multiple "Temporary Hourly Store Manager" positions but never made it officially past Assistant Manager.
The sunk-cost fallacy also kept me under the thumb of my boss who was grossly sexually harassing me. To this day I kinda wish I had sued.
The exploitation won't stop unless we realize & speak out. Glad you guys didn't bleep the business name, I'll make sure to never stop by.

Trevor mentioned how the life experience someone has after years in one profession and employers take this into account when changing jobs and even career paths, these are commonly known as "soft skills." These are common skills that can be shared among every profession like cleaning or communication skills and tend to be represented on a resume/cover letter. No matter how much of a change you may take from one job to another, many skills are transferable in one way or another; and learning how to present those skills to potential new employers will help in your search.

But you are exactly the kind of person I would want on my jury, if I ever need one!

Get on jury duty. If you think the law is BS, you can find the person innocent. I’ve had two friends who have done this, one for resisting/fleeing arrest (with no other underlying charges), one for leafy substance possession. Get on a jury and then create your own justice.

Ignoring a safety recall on your car can actually be illegal. At the very least, it is a careless act that will make it very hard to get compensation in the case of an accident. At the very most, it can make you legally responsible for a passenger in your car who gets hurt or killed by, in his case, the faulty airbags. If a passenger in your car is killed by the airbags you could go to prison for negligent homicide. Get them fixed, man. A 10mph fender bender could kill you. You can also get the repairs/replacements for a safety recall completely free, but that doesn't last forever. If you wait too long they may not continue to honor that.
