Instead of a text create a rectangle, while selected go to Window > Attributes > little burger menu top right corner > "Show all". Paste your URL, done. Stupid interface = waste of nerve and time. It works after all, hope this helps.
this doesn't work for me. I do everything exactly as the videos say and the link doesn't work. When I go to open the PDF, there is no link. Please someone help, I have tried with Illustrator and Photoshop and none of them work. It's so frustrating.
@daytime2150, did you get help and get this to work? Just seeing your request. I'm wondering if you are trying to link with text? I found that trying to do two different links within the same line of text does NOT work (as distinct from an object), because all the text in that line (or paragraph, even!) will only grab onto and cite one URL. Workaround for me: just like with an object, place your URL text on separate layers, put transparency to "0" and hide the beneath your other visible text. Voila! I hope this helps? 🙂
IF IT DOESNT WORK: when saving go to the compression (under general settings) and uncheck at the bottom the box for "compress text and lineart" it made the link work for me after i did that
