My son saw me watching this just now and asked to watch the "wet bread one" again. You've definitely got more than a few fans of that gag! lol
More 100% Pete (and family), Dickhead Survival 3 had me laughing out loud.
100% agree
Hell Yeah! More dickhead survival please
Dickhead Survival 3 is a favourite for my wife and I.
Every Australian can sleep easy knowing men like Pete stand ready with their Rob Erikson choppers should the emu terror ever return. Thank you for your service Pete.
Rod Erikson chopper? The only thing that'll deal wth an Emu is a Rod Hull chopper. That'll sort them out.
Fuckin emu menace at it again
Pete, am a Physical Therapist here in the US, and live week to week, hear ya....came for the knives stayed for the company
Personality is the most important part of youtube channels to me. You and nick are the people that I enjoy the most. I like Jared very much as he is a friend of mine and I'm proud of him blowing up! Past that it's you and nick as my fav Personality based channels.
My favorite sketch was the ad10 video with the energy drink. I can still see your face! It was brilliant.
Pete has turned into a hell of a farmer or rancher. Good on you.
So true, Wranglerstar wishes he could homestead as hard as Pete does
Bought a K390 stretch mainly for the steel, ended up liking it so much I sold all but one of my PM2s, and I only kept that PM2 because it's the first knife I bought with my first ever paycheck, it's so used and abused I'm the only person it actually has value to.
Arborist here. It looks like you planted your tree a bit to deep. And the fiber you places around it shouldnt be touching the trunk at all. Constant moisture on the bottom will grow fungus and will hurt or kill the tree. Cheers bud
This is Australia, bud. Excess moisture is low down on the list.
@@King-Kazma and yet, its still recommended by arboriculture Australia, youtube wont let me post the link to their recommendation here, but its an easy google search if you’re interested.
Many thanks for answering a whole raft of questions, Pete! I'm a long-time follower. I really enjoy your oddball humor. It's also very interesting to see the lifestyle you guys are living. The knife content is a bonus! I appreciate you and wish you all the best!
I love Amalgamation. Rip Blubbe.
You are one of my favorite channels don’t worry about the latest and greatest and just keep doing what you have been doing or whatever you enjoy.
Great video. Fun new rapid fire Q&A. Love the stuff man!
You're a good person, Pete! I enjoyed this video. I stumbled onto your channel several years ago when I was gathering info before buying a sharpening system. I bought the KME primarily because you were using it, as were a couple of other TH-camrs. I have no regrets with my purchase. You also introduced me to hats, especially Akubra hats. I went nuts and bought 9 in less than a year. Again, no regrets. You have been a great source of information, but I really stuck around for the views of country life in Australia, the creativity, and the dry humor! THANK YOU, PETE!!!
I love my K390 Stetch 2 as well. What a great user! Nothing fancy to look at, but it just works!
Me too. Thanks Pete.
Great video. Keep up the great content Pete. That ending 😆
Loquats are very tasty fruit, they don’t travel well and bruise easily though so you don’t often see them in stores or they are very expensive
I never knew such a fruit existed. I still have doubts.
We had a loquat trees at my childhood home...loved those things when in season, would eat dozens. Cfh3890 is correct...they do not last long, once picked they may last a day before getting icky. They are delicious....I miss those trees. Be warned, birds love them as well and if remember right, their season (at least the variety we had was pretty short)
Gods I didn’t think he would revive that joke XD
i speak for everyone, we want pete's mind! no matter how bizzare
Excellent QnA format!
Definately my favorite knife channel. Really enjoy the lifestyle visits, and sharing your methods for a more satisfying life. Love the whacky humor. Keep the bin test in for the deserving !
My reground stretch 2 is one of my favs
I originally came here from a Gideonstactical video on the cold steel Voyager mentioning your steel edge retention tests but the minute I heard the jrpg music I had to subscribe
Can you make a vid talking about knife budget. E.g. how much you generally spend a month on knife, how much your collection is worth, cheapest and most expensive knife etc.
Great in-depth one! definitely one of the best knife content creator here, period.
Love everything you do!
I vote for all green screen all the time. Do not listen to the haters. Hysterical and completely worth the effort. Very well done, excellent work.
This also has my vote
Love these free form videos, seeing where you're at with your gear and homestead, interesting personal stories, and good laughs. Also, totally agree on the Husky, beautiful stupendous animals but they are not like any other dog AT ALL, I'm fairly certain they were created in extraterrestrial genetic labs and unleashed onto the world, lol.
The knife testing is top shelf, but the homestead sharing and surprise nonsense makes this channel special. As someone with a lot of chickens, seeing other people's setups is interesting.
Pete- I've been watching you for years, but only subscribed today. I love your videos and your humor. Love you throwing the garbage can at crap gear, and love Uncle Randy. Thank you for the entertainment and wisdom.
The buck uncle randy episode was definitely in my top 5
6:55 I don't care what anyone says I love all your videos.
Thumbnail was total clickbait! Zero hat talk!!!
I miss the silly green screen antics but I just assumed it was too much work
All the outside shots are greenscreen!
#ausisfake
Stumbled onto the channel for knife knowledge, subscribed and binged episodes because of the unique charm and humour.
Pete has definitely become a staple of my list when it comes to TH-camrs I will always smile while watching. Talking about how difficult Ada was and all the hassle while having the biggest smile is just awesome.
He's genuine, funny, and feels relatable.
I'm glad to see him and his family doing well.
I agree : most spyderco knives are as exciting as a pair of clean senior diapers
I really enjoy the weirder videos, I watch more because of you than for knife specific content
Thank you for the weird stuff through the years!
Great video, enjoyed that. What are your thoughts on the debate about toughness being more important for edge retention than wear resistance? Kinda blew my mind looking into it recently. Like for example D2 with big carbide structure breaking off from low toughness which results in a blunter edge, more quickly than tougher steels like 14c et. al. Would be interested to hear your perspective on that whole messy topic.
Thanks Pete!
Uh oh……
He’s got his pastoralists hat on.
Following this video I went back and watched some of your older videos. I found a couple which are hysterical, there is one where your Missus helps you review, and of course "The Bushcraft King"
My missus roared with laughter and mocked the hell out of our hobby. Thus I have subscribed.
Good on yer.
There is some gold in the back catalog!!
I would love to see your rain water collection setup.
i love the bin bit
Loquats are amazing, here in South Carolina they are prevelant and yes the Stretch2/or Endela is always in my left pocket regardless of what’s in my right ,hard to beat. But a 4max Elite in waist as well daily😅 I do garden design and install so tools of trade I guess. Thanks for all your work, I stop the instant I see a new video, only channel I do.
Its good there's an Australia knife review channel, its the good middle ground 'just right' between Americans and Euro's, which I don't watch much of but do watch a lot of knife making channels.
Would like to patreon, but I'm poor
I appreciate ya, all good - we are all a bit poor these day
I like your videos too, Pete. Keep up the good work, and do what you want
what a rare piece of honesty and truth here. loved to see it late at night :):):)
The Free Series is great
Great vid mate 👍
That fkin *HAT* !!! (Screams Everyone!) lol 💖
Alan is a wee radge
I was in the same spot with the t4. It definitely grew on me and might be a top 5 non pliers MT
I got an inexpensive Chinese made Eafengrow fixed blade made od RC53 steel. The knife is really well finished and cost me $40, i think its the 141 if i remember. I wonder how that steel would do in your tests. Ive used it some and I would classify it's performance as "normal".
Don’t change anything about your channel! Your doing just fine.
Awesome honest video, definitely a personality channel ;)
What is the name of your Case Knife collector's video. I LOVE IT!
.
I would love one of these videos every month.😂 even my wife can get down with these. We really appreciate the advice and insight into lives that we similarly want to live.also please bring back the weird videos I’ll even join my first patrion if there posted there. There enough strait edge detail knife goobs.
Bought a Free T4 couple of months ago and very quickly it became my favorite edc multitool ever. When I need pliers I use my Wave+ but 95% of the time the Free T4 is enough.
🧑🦲”ok” … Whaaaaaat?? Do I see a One Punch Man tattoo on your arm?
Definitely one of my favorite anime’s EVER! 😂👍
I can't recall a video that I have watched here that i didn't like. I have liked some Vids waay more than others but, you ROCK Pete
Being in Australia, you have some pretty bomb climate. Some Aussies order cacti and plant them around their home as landscaping, and its so freakin cool. My house, they wouldn't make it past summer as my climate zone gets all 4 seasons, and we just started day one of fall today. There's a place in Australia, a cactus park (cactus world or something), where a father and son have grown cacti in ground for years now and they're HUGE!!! Enjoy that growth potential, Pete!!
My neighbours have a sled dog which I walk on a regular basis and she is a sweetheart but I am happy that she lives next door. Having said that, if you place a couple of dog biscuits under those cherry trees they will blossom beyond your expectations. You take knife reviews beyond specifications and help people decide if it belongs in their pocket. This skill exceeds “knife channel” boundaries and should be acknowledged as a true service to the knife community.🇨🇦❤🔪
Do you recommend the TSPROF Pioneer after some time with it? Love Brickey and your channel!
Pete you are a stalwart Australian. God on ya mate.
Isn’t water hard to come by on your desert planet? Does it cost a lot to water all that vegemite?
When brikie did his bit your dogs chirped up sending my dogs into a not knowing who to bark at frenzy.
I liked those art vids too!
The haters are wrong, your weirdo green screen art videos are fantastic. Uncle Bucket Gang 4 Life.
Misjudged my T4 for a long time, now it's my go to urban EDC. K4x is great too.
Emus are no joke.
Neither are drop bears!
Small favour or bit of advice... I too have chipboard walls in my garage and we've been in this house about 25 years. What I should have done when we moved in was paint the garage walls. Too late now, walls are filled with racks of tools, tables etc. But you are still fairly new to the property. Paint would protect the chipboard and lighten up the surroundings. I regret not painting mine when it was empty.
I think Pete meant to say BEST thing you can do if the Queen of England is coming to visit.
The Advocate Cursed Film is a must watch…is what I told me wife. Now I catch long, puzzled looks from here when she thinks I don’t see. Win!
A cursed film about the underground culinary culture of wet bread eaters. I'd watch it.
where can i find that rob ericson big chopper
I'm all here for more artsy videos
Hey what about the cold steel Lawman? I thought it was your favorite folder if you only had to keep one. Do you still have one?
Thanks Pete.
Lots of people in the States don't have municipal water. Nowadays, since nobody does old fashioned platting any more, it's all condominium developments (meaning the whole development owns all the property collectively, while each individual owns their house and a couple feet around it) and they do group well water. But the water still doesn't go through anything fancy like municipal water; it's still just well water, pumped up by a shared pump, for lack of a better term.
I love the lunacy that you are able to pour out of your brain into semi coherent oddball videos. Theatre of the absurd fans know their own kind
Love the video. Talking to us directly. No psych ward here LOL I'm not talking to myself in a mirror.
I am truly interested in your opinion of the Lander 2 that Ben is making this fall. Steel choice, looks, design etc. I'm trying to find a "forever knife" that will stop me in my tracks of shopping for and looking for a new knife.
My only preference is that it will be a crossbar, axis, insert funkyname here, lock mechanism. A bit challenging ordering direct from Canada where our Customs and Border people are not friends of many knife types. You can buy a knife with an axis lock in Canada but if you try to import it, it may be confiscated. I would prefer it in magnacut but Hogue Deka's aren't my thing as I want full liners. I do own 2 Benchmade knives (mini griptilian, 945 mini osborne) which I love. A Doug Ritter Mini-RSK in magnacut would work but I don't know when these will be manufactured again by Hogue.
Well. New emu nightmare fuel.
more films
Loquat is a great little fruit, doesn't really taste like anything else. And it has the benefit of producing fruit in the "cold" of our Florida winters. Also a Stretch 2 guy here.
Hi mate, Spyderco Salt 2 in LC200 or H2 (or H1)? For everything salty: Boating Camping Fishing! and Diving.
havent had H2 but cant go wrong with LC200n
Whatever happened to the ghost on your first basement tour of (what was then) the new home?
Huskies are a handful...escape artists but they are fun with their weird as shit personalities. Mine I am pretty sure was special needs and would climb trees and on occasion get stuck....never had a dog like that. Pretty sure people don't believe me when I would say my husky would climb trees, but she did. She also could not have a toy, bed or one of my tools around her without destroying it soon as my back was turned....that also went for every sprinkler...anything I built or made out of wood...and unlucky animals that came in our yard. But she was one of the happiest dogs I have ever owned. They take a special type of owner and need space or to be exercised (alot)...and they will escape if at all possible (just for the sake of doing it), by digging under, going over or chewing through.
That's a strong stream. 1:29
You should transition into a garden hose channel, i think it will be the next big thing and you will be in on the ground floor. Also - Basil should have his own channel where he can talk about his plans for humanity.
You're a listen to last podcast on the left? that's cool always interesting that it seems lots of people that one of my interests share other ones that are seeming unrelated. I love huskies but i have hear what you were saying from others. I wonder if Pomskys share the same temperament.
No water with bores.... What rough area are you from mate, country SA? Every time i see your outdoor shots it has me wondering. Oh and your TH-cam about page links to your broken non-facebook account.
You have serious comedic talent and filming skills. I have one knife for my outdoor use, not buying another, im here for the entertainment.
Rip Ced and Ada....also, did you say peacherine???
He did. He certainly did
Wet bread with Garlic😂😂😂😂❤❤❤🎉🎉😊
It occurs to me that my teeth are starting to look as good as Bricky's
Definitely love the bin chuck. 🗑️💨
I love to watch your Indy films, the others can piss off and skip them.
Nooooo... don't give up on the art films!
BK9 MENTIONED
That Boy George hat thought I recognize it....😮
