I love this! I tried the same idea yesterday with my son in his reading book, just asking him to look for parts of speech and compound words after he read to me and he loved it! We mostly just did spelling from CLE in the book and I felt like it was a full lesson! This s was so timely bc he was getting burnt out by the long lessons and I needed a change. ❤️
I think this might be the best look into a homeschool morning I’ve seen. Straight to the point and a unique perspective on what you do in your homeschool. Thank you for sharing😍
This was such a unique “day in the life”. I love seeing how others homeschool, even when the curriculum and methods are vastly different from my own! :) This curriculum would never in a million years work for my kids, but I love seeing how it is working for yours ❤
We had to go out of town a lot the last few months with my mom being sick. I took pictures of their pages they was on for week instead taking the books and copied or went over them on the phone.and done lots reviews and bought work books from the Dollar Tree.
@@oursweetiebirdshome So glad to hear that they are working well for you! We are doing good, thank you! If your family ever travels near Gettysburg, PA, please let me know🙂
@@worldofweeze We just passed through the Lancaster area last week. ❤ I will have to plan ahead on the next trip, because it would be lovely to meet you! ❤️
@@oursweetiebirdshome Lancaster is so lovely! I hope you enjoyed your travels through😊 That is pretty close to us! Only about an hour away😊 I would love to meet you!❤ We were actually in Lancaster last Wednesday for a Sight and Sound play. That would have been so funny to be so close at the same time!!
We use almost all the same things you do in our core subjects! So grateful to get some more inspiration on how to use them. I may have missed it but where can I find the book marks you have?
My 2nd grader likes to do her CLE reading first because she thinks it’s the easiest. She is looking forward to this being her last year using CLE reading and moving into novels next year. Her second choice is Language Arts and last Math because she feels she can get that done the fastest. I will be using The Ology next year with her alongside her daily Bible reading plan.
Yes! They go more off of skill than grade. So the first reader is grades 1-2, and the second one (which we will be starting this week🎉) is grades 3-4. ❤️
@@oursweetiebirdshome I just got my McGuffey readers and want to do them next year with my second grader! We are almost done with our CLE LA. Thinking about starting him this summer . Do you think that would be too much?
Thanks for the amazing videos! We've started the McGuffey's readers after finding your channel! ❤ Have you heard about Math-U-See? Do you like that program?

So happy to hear that! I am continuing to be amazed at how little time it takes to cover the essentials. It’s amazing and such a blessing. ❤

Hi! Question- do you know where I might find simple cursive flash cards- either download or for purchase?
Yes! The Alpha Phonics Cursive cards are amazing and are free to download!❤️
Hi! Love this video. Where did your paperweight come from? Perfect idea for McGuffeys

Did you start the McGuffey first reader with your Second grader?
Also did you start him off on lesson 1? If not what lesson did you start on?
