- Here gamers I go over Marvel Midnight Suns New Game plus + why I think it's not for everyone so if you want to know the ins and outs of midnight suns new game + (ng+) then that's covered in this video.
patched and now you can keep your cards in NG+, it only resets your levels (not friendship levels) and the story related quests in the abbey (words of power etc)
it's the fastest way to do a dark playthrough (for trophies) if you did light before and vice versa. and cool to play on higher difficulties.
you keep all the benefits from previous quests so no real need to do them again anyway :)

Can you play all the dlc's when you didnt play them in the first playthrough. So NG+ you can keep all your stuff but start over and can meet deadpool etc. ? Thanks
@@neyney3493 yes of course. btw I'm putting it there but I had issues with the trophie to pet the dog, turns out you can't always pet her right away everyday, unless you ask her to follow for a few sec then it's ok, if that helps anyone :)

Now that 4 dlcs are out it's the perfect time to start my ng+, do a light side build and start freshly to remember the mechanics of the heroes.

I spent countless hours upgrading and modding my hero cards, and I am not doing it all over again. Endgame is the way to go for me.
That's where I'll be firmly placed as well and farm stuff until a new DLC👍
@@sofasupastargaming Exactly what I'm doing too. New DLC's the only reason for me to start over so I can bring the new people along on the story. The right rare Ability Mods for the right Cards are just way too time-consuming to RNG for again. NG+ for casual/story funsies while keeping the old save file for actually playing on a proper team and build.
definitely if you've invested a lot of time in rerolling mods new game plus can seem like a pretty bad option

I almost made the blunder of clicking on new game plus assuming that my characters would still be the same levels. Worked pretty hard on them, not quite ready to let them go just yet.
Firaxis are the kings of replayability, they should know better than this. The card building from scratch I kinda understand, because that's literally the entire drive of the game. But all the mundane collectables, and charging money again for all the cosmetics you already unlocked is insane. I was really looking forward to NG+ because I was going to create a completely different Hunter (from being 100% light the first time) and build an entirely new deck to experiment with.
I really don't see why they made it so that all the cosmetics you had already bought in the first playthrough are suddenly locked behind a paywall of glimmer all over again. How is that a fun mechanic for anyone?
Especially since a lot of those cosmetics are pretty damn expensive to begin with, like the different skin tones you can unlock at endgame are 1000 glimmer each and the better costumes colours and eyes and such are like 200 to 250, I started new game plus with like 5000 something glimmer carried over and I spent it all just on like two hunter costumes, a skin tone, two of the eye colours, one of the face tats and some other basic stuff, I didn't even have enough to rebuy the costume colours I had liked and had previously, it's just making you grind for glimmer again for no real reason.
Why make us waste the glimmer we have carried over to rebuy that stuff all over again? It just doesn't make sense to me.
And having your card deck completely erased as well is pretty stupid, like you I had spent hours making the perfect decks and upgrading them all, but for Hunter I also had collected a full dark deck and upgraded it as well even though I never touched it first playthrough because I figured I'd go lightside the first play and then switch out to the dark powers the second run. Having all that erased and needing to start it over really does make it feel like I'm just restarting from scratch rather than doing a new game + run.
I'm now going to wait till the dlc characters get released to do my second run because I don't see any real point of just going again from scratch the way it's been implemented.
Absolutely loved the game, but the way they handled new game plus was definitely frustrating and disappointing.
I must admit I feel that same way I spent thousands on modding my cards perfectly when i saw none carried over i decided it was definitely not for me
@@sofasupastargaming That's how I feel. In a recent dev interview they said if they could go back and change something, it would be how they handled the NG+. They would give people the option of choosing whether they want to start from scratch like it is now, or if they want to carry over their builds. While I appreciate the sentiment, I would very much love for them to actually implement that in a future update. Giving people the option is the perfect solution, that way everyone wins.

Nice vid but there is one major flaw in NG+ you have not mentioned. If for example you played as a male hunter and finish the game and when you start a NG+ game and change gender to female. Your hunters Champion levels etc WILL NOT transfer over.
It'd be great if ng+ was much harder but offered more powerful cards warranting the card wipe other than that some new cosmetics would be nice for the player to flex they beat ng+ say on ultimate 3 or even add an unique difficulty that can only be accessed in ng+ come on Fraxis give us something juicy

Huge oversight, if they allowed a full carry over. I'd play again, but that stinks. I'll come back after all the dlc drops.

Thus far, wolverine is probably my favorite hero to take along with me. The best part of that is he is actually my favorite x-man and one of my all time favorite super heroes in general. As for my least favorite, I think it might be Cpt Marvel. Even in this game, she is just way too arrogant for me to like. She even had this awful dialogue where she tells me to stop "hunter-splaining something to her," like, wth? I am soooo sorry that my entire life as the hunter has revolved around the games plot and me explaining something to a woman is just too much for her fragile ego. I am soo sorry for my toxic masculinity, I should have known that Cpt Marvel doesn't need no dam man to tell her anything!

I'm sorry, but that's not New Game+, that's just a New Game.
If I wanted to start all over again, I would just start a new Save.
The devs really screwed the pooch on this one.
Also I think that other then fixing the NG+, they should have Saving Profiles, so if I wanted to start all over again, I could just switch to a different profile without having to manage all my saves like a caveman.
That was my question for SSG, this NG+ doesn't overwrite your older saves does it? I guess we'd have to carefully maintain our manual saves from the first campaign? Because I'd like to keep my old campaign as that would be a totally different Hunter character and playthrough. There 100% should be different profiles.

It's not really a new game plus if you level up your characters all over again. Also what's the point if nothing new gets added to the game when you do a New Game Plus playthrough

Yup can definitely see that being a big incentive annihilation is 1 of the best cards in the game so you will have a lot of fun with an upgraded one of those👍
you can get all the cards with any affiliation i believe the dark path just unlocks the passives associated with it. Cause im full light and still use annihilation.
What the hell were they thinking,most stupid Ng+ that I ever seen in any game ... There is absolutely no way I will grind all over again... I love Ng+. Always playing it every game.. this cannot be called Ng+. You are basically restarting the game.. and who the feck would want to do that .. what's the point lol
I have an important question. CAN I BUY the expansions before I get thru the main game? I am la little less than halfway. what would u do. my missions are getting crazy. like I only have 3 rounds ro kill 12 guys...stupid stuff like that...,.
Thank you for the awesome content! @Sofa Supastar Gaming When the DLC comes out, will you start a new game and crank up the difficulty or jump straight into NG+? I just finished the standard game and started a new one, but so far NG+ on ULT3 feels like a joke. Yes, my hunter is level 1, but because of the extra champion levels, he hits like a truck and his HP is double that of anyone on the field. Furthermore, is the point of playing the game when you have maxed out friendship bonuses + combo cards, which are dominating the game from day 1?
For me I did an awful lot first time round after starting new game plus I went back to the old save file as it was easier for me to just do the mirror table missions keep getting the money missions as I needed it for build guides I'm hoping the new DLC just carries straight on from there as it seems to be the new threat we see after the cut scenes which i think could be pretty good ... But in general like you said other than perfecting your cards and mods in general there's not much to do other than wait for DLC unfortunately
Honestly the characters all have strengths and weaknesses. So far the I think the most useful ones are magik, Dr Strange, and Nico. They can easily flip a hard fight into a piece of cake.
I solo with ghost rider.
Ghost Rider was perfect for me...especially when using Hell Ride or his Stare

I've just started NG+, just thinking about searching and modifying and picking up artifacts all over again, to unlock each hero's ultimate skills, makes me extremely lazy, exploring the whole abbey again, leveling up arcane knowledge again to open the chests without needing a key, pass those boring challenges to unlock the words of power, I've never seen an NG+ the main part you don't take with you, which are the cards, I already gave up, and I'm going to load the old save I made , they should have changed that, and I have a question, what are the hero points?, which they said that you gain as you level up above the maximum, and that you can use in NG+
I believe that's just the levels you gain above level 25 on your character so unfortunately they too don't carry over... I found myself going back to the old save file as building up my team that way was a lot more fun👍

Fully planned to do NG so I could run a dark hunter and see the female voice acting but will not after hearing no resources transfer and all the work I did is literally erased. Why not just make enemies more difficult, have different mods for cards in NG and such? I loved the game but it really is a horrid NG plus mode, which sucks as I would love to go through the story with DLC characters when they come
Maybe I missed it or misunderstood, but does the Light/Dark meter transfer over in New Game+, or is it completely reset?
main character and all others are completely reset so light dark is as well👍 just friendship carries over plus all the characters you acquired

cards and acquired bracelets etc are also reset if i remember correctly its why a lot of people just keep playing after completing it by doing the missions table create a save file before new game plus so you can come back to it if you enjoy the other way better👍

Yeah honestly i am most likely just gonna start a regular new game if im gonna be forced to change up shit im playing as a light hunter right now and i have been gloss grinding like hell so hearing that it doesn't carry over when you buy shit is disheartening to say the least
What if i made a save from before unlocking NG+, and then I opted for NG+. Will i still be able to access my save?
The point here is to keep 2 separate saves. 1 save for NG+ and the other save is continuing the endgame.
That should be fine I can only speak for xbox as that's what I play on but that is exactly what i did saved after completing the game then went on to new game plus and saved on a new save file i then went back and started playing on the older non new game plus version 👍

You can, if you keep your old save active. (Every few saves, load the old one and re save.) Otherwise the game will eventually delete your old save as it is "obsolete ".
I have a question. Doth DLC character shows up in final mission or in slideshow memory's?
Do you know if you keep the dark/light suits in ng+?
No none of the suits are passed on
So stats don’t carry over? I have my Spider-Man’s resilience almost at max and caps fortitude as well. Things like that don’t transfer over?
Ive beaten the game but there is no new game plus option on the main menu. Am I doing something wrong? Im on the xbox series s digital download
Was hoping the suit powers carried over but seems not. Have most of them but only 1 ability so far so seems it just for cosmetics🤔
So how does that work if you get hulk and scarlet witch at the start when you have to fight them?

Same (il)logical thought comes to mind when Fallen Hulk or Fallen Scarlet (later Fallen Venom after DLC drops) shows up in a general mission fight. How are we fighting Fallen Heroes after we saved them? Ya just kinda shrug and say oh well it's just a game.
After getting Hunter to full lightside I'm trying to switch sides and get her to full dark before the end of the game however everything is going very slowly and I'd like to know if I'm doing right.
best way is to have massive amounts of dark cards in your deck using lots a mission and in the training threat room portal plus answering everyone with dark side answers is the fastest way to level it👍
You can also chill at the water during full moon (light) and new moon (dark) and use 8 light/dark abilities per day in the threat room to get additional 2 points per day. So you can get a max of 17 points in 4 ingame days or 4 missions.

@@porphyrapurpurapurpul Recently I found out, that you can get additional 2 points per day if you don't mind the extra grind at night by leaving one of the trials with charlie uncompleted. Playing 8 light/dark abilities there without completing them can grant you another 2 points per day for a max of 25 points in 4 ingame days.
@@nikton7486 So on top of doing Threat rooms with Hunter and getting 2 points per day for playing 8 dark cards you can do that in the Trials as well, thats wicked m8 thanks for the info
This sucks. I put so much into the original game thinking that new game was going to be just everything that you had brought back. I like to do new game plus like a month after I beat the core game. But now I have to wait longer so I don’t get fatigued. Omg especially the Agatha Woods missions. Why not just start where you left off with the story like other games? Still this game is amazing.

Since you have all your friendship at top you can be a douchebag with all the heroes without many consequences and go full dark sociopath mode. Not for everyone as you said.

Then immediately contradicts this by saying “All of your hero champion and friendship lvls carry over”

champ level only carries over if you create the same gender as your regular play through otherwise you lose it. friendship level always carries over to ng+

Wow, that's the most disappointing new game plus I've ever seen!!! It's just a new game!!
its kind of a half and half you carry over the unlocked characters friendship levels and cosmetics although you do have to repurchase them but your characters levels and cards are reset so you are not overpowered at the start. I can see where they were going with it but if you spent a long time the first playthrough optimising your cards etc this will feel like a big setback

@@sofasupastargaming If someone doesn't want to feel overpowered at the start, they can turn the difficulty up to Ultimate 3 and decide not to bring their best deck. People can create their own challenges for themselves, but that does require them to take responsibility for their own experiences. The difference is the illusion of lack of choice. If they don't have those things available 'just in case', they generally feel more of a sense of accomplishment because they don't have to rely on self-discipline to keep them from accessing all their uber build components. But if they do tailor their own experience instead of relying on the card reset mechanic we're currently all forced to work with on NG+, they can curve their progression of ease up at their own pace on their second playthrough, which is perfectly valid.
I honestly just find the lack of a player-given option for which version of the NG+ you want to experience, very disappointing.
So I finished the game completely. Went back to finish a few achievements I didn't get yet. Now that I've done this I don't have ng+ option in the menu. What am I missing here? Any help is appreciated.
You beat the final mission went through the cutscene and it didnt mention about new game plus?
@@sofasupastargaming finished the final mission, watched post credits scene, and was taken back to the abbey and told that it was unlocked. Saved my game so I didn't have to redo that buggy mess of a mission, and there's no button. Just continue, load, and new game.
Contacted their support but we all know how that goes. So hoping there's a work around or something I'm missing to this.

Seams very useless. The reason I like NG+ in most games is everything transfers and you can play again but at the strongest you can be at the start, but the game is more challenging.
So basically theres nothing you get in NG+ at all?! No new cards or cosmetics?! Then its absolutely useless!

Shittiest new game plus i have ever seen. Wanted to start a new game but luckily i read on reddit and saw some youtube videos that it isn't worth it.
My thought was that everything, literally everything will carry over. Gloss, champion levels, hero levels, herbs, cards and decks with all the modification you did. Also the recipe books you found. And of course not doing the damn abbey again with the damn words of powers where you spent many hours to do anything.
I spent over 150 hours in this game so no thanks, i wont ever do it . Sorry for my english btw its not my first language.
