  • Ready for a throwback? One of my favorite things to do is look back at old MV's and make myself mad that I didn't listen to them sooner.

I always will love a throwback, and it’s even better if it hurts my head in a good way

Infinite is one of the legendary groups, who don't get enough recognition from reactors, so its nice seeing you taking an interest in them. They are known for their dancing and for their unique sound. Infinite debuted in 2010, 2 years after SHINee. They are originally a 7 member group but, Hoya, their main dancer (one of the best dancers in the industry), lead rapper and vocalist, left the group about 2 years ago; and L just recently left the company, but he has alluded to the fact that he plans to still continuing activities with the group in the future.
SHINee and Infinite are the groups that started the trend of sharp synchronized choreography. Infinite is known for their sharp, knife-like synchronization. It wasn't until groups like SHINee and Infinite came along that people really started to up their game and pay attention to detail when it came to choreography. All the amazing dancers and dances of Kpop groups today, owe their impressive dance moves to their forefathers, such as Infinite and SHINee. It was these groups that started it all and convinced people that if they wanted to compete for a top spot in the industry they really needed to put the time and effort into making their dances look flawless with a high degree of complexity and skill.
Infinite is also known for their unique sound and style and how most of their songs include classical string instruments as part of their sound. It is said that you can tell its an Infinite song just by the sound and style of the song within the first few seconds because Infinite songs are different than all other Kpop songs. There is always an element of the sound of their songs that makes them stand out.

Milinda Wilson Thanks for this comment, I love learning about the background of groups I don’t know as much about. I can see how they stand out, they do have a very unique sound you don’t hear much (back then or these days)

They're amazing, arent they? Listening to them always gives me a kind of nostalgic feeling. Like im listening something from my childhood, but at the same time it doesnt aged... Gives me both excited and sad feeling

I love the nostalgia that comes with watching the older music videos. And there are a lot of things I wish they still did these days, but I kind of understand why they moved away from them.

oh wow thanks so much for doing my request! tbh i was expecting a reaction to last romeo first since that has more of the strings/orchestra sound i was talking about while this is more influenced by traditional korean music/instruments, but im really glad you did this first because this probably sums up infinite’s sound in a nutshell. i also didnt know what to make of it when it came out in 2012. it was a lot to take in lol but then after a couple more listens it started making sense and then i was completely hooked. im still left with a “wtf just happened” kind of feeling listening to it now, 7 yrs later. idk if you got the vibe from this specific song, but most of infinite’s tracks do have a kind of retro, grand sound to them (especially their earlier works which were mostly produced by sweetune), and like another commenter said, that became kind of their signature sound. anyway, thanks again for reacting to this!
p.s. nuest is coming back next week on the 21st and the only thing we know about the title track (love me) is that it’s going to be “alternative house and urban rnb” whatever that means. the video teasers have been very..... interesting...... so i really dont know how the song would end up sounding like. itd be great if you could react to the mv (if you still have time bc apparently everyone is coming back this october). kinda curious to know what you think if youve already seen the teasers though

lovepaints I actually reacted to Last Romeo as well, it’ll be up sometime next weekish. They definitely do have a unique sound, and I defiantly get a retro vibe going on.
I’m looking forward to Nu’est’s comeback. I haven’t watched any of the trailers for fear of spoiling the song (some groups practically release the whole song just in teasers *coughAB6IXcough*) but I sure as hell will react to it when it comes out!

Jenn Makani they havent used the song in any of the teasers yet (at least i dont think so bc those vids are kinda....) at this point idek if the mv is going to be anything like the teasers. but if you ever watch them, i suggest following the order of their release (baekho, ren, aron, minhyun, jr, group). anyway, thanks again for the reaction and definitely looking forward to your upcoming ones as well!
