With sheer blessings and Doer-ship of Bhagwan Swaminarayan, ‘Sahajanand Gaave’ experiences immense divinity and delight in presenting Raag Yaman bandish by Pt. Raghunanadan Panshikar.
‘Sahajanand Gaave’ joyfully dedicates this bandish to HH Pramukh Swami Maharaj on His Birth Centenary Celebrations for His innumerable efforts in reviving musical works of Swaminarayan Paramhansas and cordially inspiring Pt. Raghunandan Panshikar for providing His valuable compositions and renditions for this Project.
This bandish, ‘Jivan Dori Hameri’ has been magnificently written by Sadguru Achintyanand Brahmachari around 200 years ago and it has been mentioned in Raag Yaman by Him in His manuscript.
Pt. Raghunandan began his formal study of music in Mumbai at the age of eleven. He learned music from the late Pandit Vasantrao Kulkarni for six years. Later he took training from Gaan Saraswati Smt. Kishori Amonkar over the next 17 years. During this time, Raghunandan was also fortunate to learn from Kishori-ji's mother & guru, the late Gaan Tapaswini Smt. Mogubai Kurdikar, who learned directly from Ustad Alladiya Khan, who was the founder of the Jaipur-Atrauli gharana.
The lyrics of this bandish were extracted from the Achintyanand Brahmachari Jivan Kavan published by Karelibaug Swaminarayan Sanstha. ‘Sahajanand Gaave’ is utterly Thankful for such publications from Karelibaug Mandir.
‘Sahajanand Gaave’ is utterly Thankful to Pt. Raghunandan Panshikar for offering His invaluable efforts and time in this devotional project for Bhagwan Swaminarayan and His Paramhansas.

Transliteration and Translation:
Jivan dori hameri, Shyām tum…
Oh Bhagwan Swaminarayan ! You are my very life-force!
Shwet basan tan pāgh gulābi;
Latkat hār mani keri…
Maharaj [referring to Bhagwan Swaminarayan], you have adorned white clothing on your body and a pink turban on your head. There is an emerald necklace that can be seen on your neck.
Ratan jadit ponchi bājubandh;
Dhari utari ur gheri…
Maharaj, you have adorned jewellery studded with gems on your hands and you have armlets on both your arms. You have worn a rusted-gold coloured necklet.
Krishnānand kahe sundar karme;
Dhari chhadi kanchan keri…
Krishnānand Swami says you hold a beautiful golden staff.
