This song is a sister song to Dreadful Moments (written about a friend of Eugene's that had a rough childhood) and Home Back (about war in Ukraine). The line about "Childhood misery is lifelong injury" comes from Dreadful Moments, and Tatiana follows that line up with "No, it's not for me, what I've always had - Father's love and Mother's hand" - this song is a love letter to their parents who they have essentially been estranged from since 2014 due to war. The intro basically talks about how they are honoring their parents incase they don't get a chance to do it in person again.

Written for their families who they have been away from due to both their touring and band lifestyle, as well as the 9 year long war in the east of Ukraine, where the band is from.
It's been a while since I came home
My heart is elsewhere as I roam and roam
    Until I find myself alone
Childhood of misery is lifelong injury
No, it's not for me. What I've always had
    Father's love and mother's hand
It's a beautiful song and one of my favourites of theirs. Tatiana's lyrics are as strong as any other aspect of the band, despite being written in a second language.

I love hearing Tati sing in the native tongue and the groove of this song hits different!

This song has the sickest drop of any Jinjer song. top 3 in my list of Jinjer songs! Great to see you guys totally enthralled in this band, they have the talent and the creativity to do this for a long time if they stay with it. 🤘

The beginning of the song is in Russian. The band like myself are Ukrainians but from the Russian-speaking region of the country.

It`s Ukrainian, but they all were raised in a region where Russian is the dominant language as they are all from around Donetzk. So actually they speak more Russian as far as I know. 🙂

The language is actually Russian. Russian and Ukrainian are around 62% similar in vocabulary (both Slavic languages). Most people in Ukraine can speak both and of course Tati can also speak Spanish and English. The members of the band are ethnic Russians from Eastern Ukraine (Donbas) which is of course at the center of the current conflict. In fact Tatiana's home town Horlivka is in between two of the biggest hot spots at the moment (Donetsk City and Bahkmut). Ukrainians generally call Ukraine their "motherland" as well.
It's actually "fathers live and mothers hand". They have very good relationships with their parents the song is in part an homage to all they did to bring the members of the band to where they are. Their song Dreadful moments is about friends they knew who did not have good family lives not so much about their experiences. You might try reacting to a few older songs of theirs like No Hoard of Value, Cloud Factory, Outlander (the official live version at Loudfest is very good) and A Plus or A Minus.

Ну, у Ромы и Жени фамилии таки тюркского происхождения. Про Рому пишут, что он лезгин, а про Женю я не нашёл.
Но это конечно же особого значения не имеет - просто поправка.

@@Nani_torova I think Romans family is originally from Azerbaijan but I believe they are still Russian speakers. You could be right though.

    It was
    Father's love and Mother's HAND.
All Jinjer band members are Russian spoken persons.
Jinjer has another song in Russian (without English) - Желаю Значит Получу.

In fact, in Ukraine they speak mainly two languages - Ukrainian and Russian. Of course, there are differences in languages, but not so much that a Russian speaker does not understand Ukrainian and vice versa. The group itself is from that region of Ukraine where the main language of communication was Russian

    • @Nani_torova
      @Nani_torova 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

As far as I heard, the band members speak Russian. In the song itself, Tanya sings in Russian.
      Who nursed you
Did you relieve sadness with love?
Grass will grow in late spring
The one who carried you over his head
The one who carried you over his head.
The song wasn't really about hating a mother:
No, it's not for me. What I've always had
      Father's love and mother's hand

I live in Moscow, in this war I am not a supporter of Russia, Ukraine, or Western countries, because this is a struggle of capital for resources and markets. It is a pity that the bargaining chips are the lives of ordinary people. I envy you very much because I missed the opportunity to go to the Jinjer concert when they came to Moscow. Now it is no longer known whether I will ever get there again in the future. Peaceful skies above everyone. No to world imperialism.

That was russian language. Ukrainian sounds very similar but you should have enough practice to be able to recognise and separate it.
Ukrainian and Russian languages are natural for almost all of Ukrainian people.
I would suggest you to listen to Artem Pivovarov Deja Vu both Russian vs Ukrainian versions
    Thanks for your reaction!
    Stay with Ukraine!
