      @@MentalAmanda Just wanted to say hello Amanda. And I wanted to let everyone know that I am done with partial hospitalization therapy and have started working again. Next Wednesday is my first appointment with my new outpatient therapist. And I definitely need that appointment. Everything is f..... up again. It will soon be the first anniversary of my neighbor's death and my dark thoughts are getting crazier by the day. I'm taking some medication to "calm down" a bit.

    Oddly enough, this band is why I was able to score my 1st win over my Seasonal Depression last year. Getting to see them for the first time In December got me through November and gave me a reason to look forward to December. The fun I had gave me a happiness I hadn’t felt in a long time and it stayed.

    You figured this out almost immediately! Seasonal depression... Good job!
    "This autumn feels like funeral to me
    The longest song of grief
    And not for what has passed
    But for what shall last
    Exhausted nature is tragic and suicidal!
    Oh how spectacular she is when she kills herself!
    Death throes are slowly crawling to her toes
    As the last leaf is falling off her head
    I’m here with her undressed
    With a few petals on my breasts
    We shared opiates and let the landscaped do the same
    I love your warmth but yet prefer to sleep in cold alone
    We fixed our eyes up to the sky
    To see a flight send us farewell
    Goodbye!
    May we see each other next time
    So please, come back to celebrate this festival of life!
    Then as now fly!
    Today you reached the point of no return
    Now cry! And then die!
    Tomorrow I will meet you with your cells restored
    Annual tradition of mass destruction
    In the name of total reconstruction
    My biggest source of confusion
    The reason of decay and disillusion
    Under permanent ice we found breathless paradise
    No, we’re not dead
    No, we’re not dead
    Just enjoying coma
    From the ashes of my roots the new me will rise to live again
    This is poetry of youth, this is poetry of me and you!"

    I love how she uses phytomorphism(plant centric perspective) by using the characteristics of a perennial to explain the human experience of killing off the old self and being reborn anew.
    I interpret this further as possibly having a darker meaning. She sings "We shared opiates...", and this makes me think/relate this song to the never ending cycle of opiate use.
    "This autumn feels like a funeral to me..." This is the "fall" into withdrawal.
    "Exhausted nature is tragic and suicidal!
    Oh how spectacular she is when she kills herself!
    Death throes are slowly crawling to her toes
    As the last leaf is falling off her head"
    Exhausted nature is being dope sick. Its a tragedy to experience and you sometimes ponder suicide. How spectacular she is when she kills herself relates to how people will do anything to get more, even resorting to self harm(to get a prescription), all for a deadly drug.
    "We shared opiates and let the landscaped do the same
    I love your warmth but yet prefer to sleep in cold alone
    We fixed our eyes up to the sky
    To see a flight send us farewell
    Goodbye!
    May we see each other next time
    So please, come back to celebrate this festival of life!"
    This is about a relationship of two lovers addicted and getting their fix. They shared the drugs, melt into the landscape, both with a look of euphoria in their eyes. One nods out into the "coma", unable to waken, the person pleads for them to "come back" to life.
    Today you reached the point of no return
    Now cry! And then die!
    Tomorrow I will meet you with your cells restored
    Annual tradition of mass destruction
    In the name of total reconstruction
    My biggest source of confusion
    The reason of decay and disillusion
    Under permanent ice we found breathless paradise
    No, we’re not dead
    No, we’re not dead
    Just enjoying coma
    The person awakens from their coma. The other crying that theyd their loved one had oversosed(hit the point of no return). They meet up again to repeat the cycle of "mass destruction", this time both are on the verge of death in an icy breathless paradise, but they arent dead. They are just enjoying their comatose high...
    Basically she(my interpretation) is pointing out the tragedy of opiate addiction. The only thing that matters is getting high. Humans fear dangerous stuff that can cause death, it is a survival instinct. Sadly, the power of addiction removes that fear which has led to too many people chasing the high one step too far, and unwillingly falling over the cliff's edge... It is a tradition of mass destruction (using the drug), in the name of total reconstruction (regaining normal function after being in withdrawal, and getting the euphoric high). We question in confusion why do we continue this cycle, as it pushes one into further decay and dissolution.
    In no way am i saying this is the proper interpretation. It is my subjective view based on my past experiences..

    • @davidgaps6589
      @davidgaps6589 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Interesting interpretation. The best music/art offers several windows to view it through. The song is Tati’s effort to cope with her Season Effective Disorder. She’s from eastern Ukraine and they suffer severe winters. Plus, the political change now.

    • @Z_TPI
      @Z_TPI 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@davidgaps6589 I totally agree. A great song writer can put down lyrics that have a deep subjective meaning to themselves, but will leave the subject matter vague enough so that it allows listeners to easily interpret them through their own subjective experiences.
      Interestingly enough, I have(self diagnosed) the inverse side of seasonal affective disorder. In no way am I making light of Tatiana's situation. Especially with, as you mentioned, the turmoil they've been plagued with in the present and past.
      I'm Canadian, and experience basically the same climate as Ukraine (short hot summer/long dark and cold winter). But, instead of getting depressed in the dark cold winters, I get down and out in the summer. I lived in North Carolina for 7 years when I was younger. The extremely long, hot and humid summers mixed with the short, little to no snow winters screwed my young mind up lol. I was the kid always wearing shorts in the winter there 🤣. It made me hate summer and miss Canadian winters. I've been back in Canada since 01, but in the summer my body and mind shut down. Don't get me wrong, the extreme cold sucks, but I don't feel down and out like in the summer. Hoodie and shorts weather is my ideal haha

    I've always been annoyed by the name for seasonal affective disorder, because of the abbreviation. Because it is not being simply that, it is an almost inescapable chemical disorder.

      @gimiwanishkaa 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      It's an acquired taste, one I found well worth acquiring.
      And I have to laugh because this vocalist is known for being particularly articulate with her screams such that you can in fact understand every word. It just take a bit of practice to attune your ears.

    • @MentalAmanda
      @MentalAmanda  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Music is art and art is expression. Not everyone expressess themselves the same way. While it might not be your cup of tea (it's really not mine either), I don't think she's ruining anything. It's a beautiful reflection of yin and yang, light and dark. I can actually understand her quite easily now, though my first reaction to her caught me off guard and I struggled a bit.
