The timer adds SO MUCH context to what we’re watching. Please make this standard.
The period without a timer existed because of capture card's sound issues when LiveSplit was on. Those have been fixed one way or another, so the timer should stay for the more difficult hacks.
Old comment is old but agreed. I think people see Barb make it through a section in 5 minutes of edited video time but don't realize an hour of trying was edited out.
Until I saw the message from @Qaser7 I didn't realize the timer went away for a bit.
The sudden transition to metal, wig and sunglasses in the edit was hilarious.
Besides, I now crave for a montage of Barb screams of both suffering and celebration over metal music.
I remember voting for this and by the time the playthrough was done I felt I like I had personally wronged you by choosing it 😬
This is the most entertaining thing I've watched in months. Thank you, Barb, for suffering through this one.
This romhack is pure torture. I can't believe Barb's patience.
What's great is Barb was resistant to this hack. However, it appears that he kind of enjoyed it in many spots. It appeared to be a unique challenge that he was suited for.
I kind of wish Mario's Mystery Meat would have won.

@@obthree2830 it got me to listen to the fields album from here we go sublime and now i like it. It's much better as a whole thing. I think the other band i looked into because of this hack was oneohtrix point never.

I like the music too. Its an acquired taste. Of course ROM hacks are lower fidelity and missing a lot of the depth of the songs.

I like it, probably just because I’ve liked oneohtrix point never before playing, but I feel like i would rather it have like, a normal soundtrack.
This hack looks like a fever dream and butt kickingly hard. Despite all the yelling and spending hours on some levels he has remarkable patience.

dream come true to see you play this. hack has a really special place in my heart and im one of the strange ones that likes the soundtrack. props for playing something despite your gripes with it and being a good sport. was moderately worried to watch one of my fav creators shit on one of my fav hacks but all your comments were very fair. hope you had at least a bit of fun, and i kno you made a lot of people happy with this playthrough
The soundtrack is interesting and unique for sure, but it’s even more so effective at adding confusion to an already difficult hack to make you feel like you’re in a surreal world. I feel like the level names only add to that feeling. This hack was definitely crafted with care.

Mario's mystery meat is a trip, you need to play it if you already haven't.
For anyone that hasn’t seen it, it’s a very surreal hack. There’s a lot of references to Vinesauce streams, but you don’t have to understand them to appreciate all the work that went into it and have a laugh too.

It’s surprising to find out how much people hate this ost, it’s one of my favorite hack osts honestly. Seeing the amount of people hating this ost made me realize how many people hate experimental ambient music. In all fairness tho some of the songs are way too repetitive but I actually like a lot of the songs in this hack.
Edit: To be honest the ice level music is really out of place and weird for a kaizo hack and that breathing would get REALLY annoying after a while, but I really like every other song in the hack.

This music sounds exactly like a meth+alcohol+caffeine fueled fever dream feels like when you're lethally past exhaustion and you're wondering if the repeating circles in your mind will end in death or sleep if you let go.
I very much appreciate the insert of music that _is_ allowed by the Geneva Convention into the ice level that makes the level seem fun to play. I hope there will be more such edits. I am sorry that so many of your viewers want to give you a headache and nightmares, Barb.

Started out as a Barb level and then ends with Dog The Bounty Hunter play a Mario hack and drowning out the ass bleeding music of the game. I like it!
I’ve never heard chiptunes used as a game’s soundtrack, even though I’ve considered using them as my own bgm on youtube videos.
Something about how awesome and emotional and thought invoking they can be, but you only hear em when you’re running very sketchy apps and as soon as you have what you need you close the app as fast as you can like you’re ‘minimizing damage’ in case it’s a virus (which is ridiculous).
But the whole point is chiptunes just feel like they’re naturally heard only in small bursts that really stick with you, and yeah you can download them for personal listening but it’s effort i assume most don’t put in. So it’s refreshing to hear some of them full length in a videogame.
