Ok Mann you said You had many tastings that night. Would you go back and start from the beginning? With a fresh palate would you think it'll be a little bit different?
If you can try to get Elijah Craig Barrel Proof. Gamechanger. Or if you can but really hard finding the special Blanton's like SFTB or Blanton Gold's. Both are ridiculous hard to find and SFTB is European only but some sneak their way in to the USA
I like the comparisons head to head but sorry bro dude on left black shirt doesn’t know bourbon well at all or doestknow how to express himself but if he’s learning keep it going bro. I love EH Taylor even over blantons although blantons is great. On the other hand yellow shirt i can tell you know your stuff a lot more. Sorry i dont know your names just stumbled upon your video but good work. Single barrel Taylor wasn’t better then the small batch to me but thats just me.
You guys should keep a series for each spirit to keep the highested rated spirit for both of you and continue that one on the show until another spirit from the same category knocks it off as your new favorite for side by side comparison.
Good analysis. Where blantons wins is in the finish. There’s others bourbons that are better up front but blantons might be the most consistent from start to finish.
I like the review. Nice job guys. I'll disagree though, Blanton's seems to have more 'heat' and burns just a little more on the finish. The E.H finished smooth. I drink my bourbon neat and I prefer a cube in the Blanton's to mellow it a little verses the E.H I can drink straight.
Sand paper polished is a great way to describe Blantons. I personally have loved E.H. Taylor over Blantons. Taylor just has a more classic bourbon flavor to me. Cheers, -J.O.

Okay, where in NC are y'all able to find EH Taylor? I am in SC and the only Buffalo Trace I can find is Buffalo Trace every 2-4 months. I would be happy to drive to as far as Greensboro for some EH Taylor or some Stagg JR.

Fun video! Sitting here drinking the same two...and was searching for a vid. So - This is all terribly subjective of course, but sitting here drinking them neat, I find them more different than you guys did. But both awesome. The EH has a finish that’s different - I don’t know if licorice is the right word - but it’s a bit like absynthe you’d add to a Sazerac. It’s sweet and finishes spicy - with a burn. It reminded me of the way cinnamon burns a little. Don’t know if I particularly get that flavor per se. Maybe it’s the higher proof that’s the extra little burn. Just that sweet caramel flavor with a little burn at the end. The first two things I notice with the Blantons is oak - you taste the wood for sure - and the viscosity is thicker. It is an easier drinker - maybe due to the the lower proof but I guess 93 and 100 aren’t way off. To me, the Blantons is sweet, creamy (sounds gross) which makes me think buttery, and then on the back end really turns oakey. That’s what I would describe as “complex” - changing flavors over the duration of the sip. Blantons seems to be more complex in that way. Apparently it ain’t cool to like Blantons right now...I guess there’s a backlash because it got hyped so much. But I still think it’s absolutely fantastic. The EH Taylor is great too - for me I add one drop of water and it takes the burn down just enough. Maybe I took too many shots because sober people don’t talk this much lol.

I did the same thing with these two. Very very similar. I think I like the Taylor more but both are great.
Yeah this is tough for me I am between these two right now I want one of them but can’t decide!
I had to type in a versus of these two bourbons after having them side by side. The E H Taylor had slightly more body probably due to the higher proof
