This is my fifth wheel and it's the top of the food chain on all levels I ride knarely off-road trails & this wheel is definitely it! Stock pads are the best stock pads I've seen to date but I still have grizzla fairing system and pads on the way.🎉
I completely agree. Something I should have mentioned is braking is the best I've ever experienced on the Extreme.... incredible. Thank you for watching!
I agree with you regarding the stock pads...I couldn't ride very long without feeling pain in my shins...Wearing the Leatt dual axis knee guards really help.
Yeah... they seem to be more about protecting the wheel than helping the rider. I'd prefer they made a decent fairing that is ships with than putting capital into side pads that everyone will replace....
@@rollindirty2666- I'm out riding technical single track...If the pads were closer together, securing my legs better, I would have more maneuverability....Other than that, I am pretty happy!
Thanks for sharing your impressions! Very helpful to those considering purchasing it. Looking forward to your thoughts once you've got different pads on it. May I ask, what is the width at the top where it would be resting into the sides of your legs?
it's a 16" just like the V12 and the 16X and T4 and all other 16" wheels.
Except that this is really an 18" tire. The V12 is a 16" tire.
Yeah, it's not a 16 inch at all. It's just "in that category." I have it.
Great thoughts 👍
Good info 👍
Yooo, how are you feeling about the extreme after a few months now?
I went on a ride yesterday on my extreme and I got a rock stuck between the side of the rim and the frame in by the bearing area had to stop & turn the wheel upside down & Nickel sized rock fell out 😮
Yeah... this is an issue. I've noticed it too... not enough clearance for rocks that the tire will pick up.
Dude there is no reason to run your tire at 45. That's nuts, and it would fix your rubbing issue to take it down.
While this may be true... I run all my wheels at 45psi. If the tire the wheel ships with states it can run 45psi, I think it needs to be tested, for all the reasons you mentioned. In other words, unless Begode wants to finally provide a user manual instructing the users to run... say 30psi, for clearance purposes, then I think we need to test the limits. The rubbing issue was present at a lower psi too, just not as prominently. It's clear there was some underplanning when it came to the tire and the clearance of the fender. Thank you for watching!
@@rollindirty2666 I use pancake syrup as motor oil. It does not work well at all, but I've always used pancake syrup as motor oil so...
I'd run a 3" tire closer to 30psi, more of an actual contact patch on the road/dirt and less twitchyness.
@@rollindirty2666the tire says 43psi max
Thanks for the review, but what about range?
I rode about 8 miles at 25-30mph and the wheel went from 80% to 70%. I haven't really pushed it to empty yet because I'm not super happy with the stock side pads.
