Sri Lanka and New Zealand faced each other at the Galle International Stadium for the 2nd Test match. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first. Day 1 ended with Sri Lanka scoring 306 runs but lost 3 wickets in the process. Dinesh Chandimal was the top scorer with a brilliant 116-run knock.

I watched today's full day of play and was very disappointed with New Zealand's fielding. I have never seen such indiscipline in the field by the Kiwis as far as I know. Daryl Mitchell can retire from cricket. He is completely out of shape. On the other hand, Sri Lanka's batters played really well.
