Awesome video. I'm a sucker for square bills also. They are certainly a bait that catches as many fishermen as they do fish . That's the fun of it right. Great job.
Ty for the video. I was looking for this exact style video last night on the evoke 2.0..the extra info is super helpful 👍 sorta new to square bill fishing.
I bought up a bunch of RC 1.5 before they went out so I use them exclusively. Only throw the silents even in muddy water. Have tried the S crank with some decent success!
Two things that were drilled into my head when I started throwing crankbaits that turned out to be wrong- 1. You must be on bottom deflecting off things- that's just not true. Especially when you're talking about shallow water or cover cranking squarebills. It does help to deflect off things but, it's not absolutely necessary- and you certainly don't have to be on bottom. 2. Never crank with anything over a 6:1 ratio- also not true, at all. I do way better with a 7:1 speed reel- even when I'm cranking medium or deep diving cranks. Yes it will wear your arm out but, I like catching fish- it's worth it. If you use the right baits it's really not that bad tbh. Now I do keep a slower reel with me- a 5:1- in case they want it slowly crawling on bottom- cause they do sometimes but- more often than not you can get them to fire faster using a 7:1 and really cranking aggressively with pauses- "Burn, burn, pause" - now where have I heard that before? ; )
Dou realis is a good one I use alot myself. The 50 kubaki I fish a couple different ways. Cast and retrieve or I'll fish it on a lighter spinning rod with lighter line and slow roll it as a top water wake bait. The side to side action is wide and looks like you're walking the dog without twitching the rod.
Great content and information! 👍 been exclusive to Lucky craft LC and KJ flats. Decided to try something new and picked up some MB S-crank this season and I've had multiple 15+ fish days with them. Will be stocking up on more s-cranks.
HUGE thanks to Rick Clunn, Lynn Reeves and Minoru Segawa and the team at Lucky Craft for taking crankbaits to the next level, and in a way also Fred Young since Rick's first square bill came from him and Fred showed him how to fish it. They changed the game and brought a new standard what square bill can be. His new Kong series of oversized square bills by Ichikawa are also awesome.
Square bills, hand made bluegill swimbaits, and of course jerkbaits! I have never known when to use a flat side vs a round square bill. Also, circuit board lip or plastic? No idea which works when! 😂
What I truly want & need to know is what are the exact right hooks to upgrade to that won't change any of the action on those baits??? I am just getting into JDM baits and from what I been seeing on TH-cam rather they are JDM baits or not most every pro fisherman changes out the hooks on hard baits. So for a weekend fisherman like myself that getting bk into fishing I need to know what is a standard hook to up grade to with any action being change to it except my hook ups on fish.. thank you in advance for any honest feed back from you guys at hook-up tackle..
Thank you so much for the insite I have a question I want to get into speed cranking do you guys sell a crankbait that I can speed crank with a lot of crankbaits will blow out when you try to speed crank with them thank for your help
Can you please get in my favorite square bill. The Fishing 13 Jabber Jaw Square Bill. I will be stopping by the store on Wednesday to pick up some more goodies. 😁
idk man the evokes are just the best squarebill I've used. I tell everyone over an over to embed it in there mind lol because. I have just smashed fish on them this year have caught close to 65 or more fish on that evoke this year and seemed to notice that the fish that hit it tend to be bigger idk why great bait wish they would make a 2.0 size in a 1.2 depth or a 4.0 size in a 1.2 depth.
Sometimes someone says something and you realize you don't know what you thought you knew and you didn't know what you didn't know. Inotherwords, I will have to watch this again to reprogram my brain.

It is fun! 😜👊🍻
So many choices! Not a confidence lure for me, but I think the LC 1.5 and the Deps Evoke could change that. Thanks for the video guys. ✌🏻🎣
Thanks Ben for all the great info…learning so much from you channel
Thank you for watching!
Me as well, Ben really does know fishing.
Informative about stuff i THOUGHT i already knew all about lol. Thanks ben
Thank you for watching! 🍻
Thanks Ben and Jeff
Great stuff. Definitely shed some light on the baits and applications. 🍻
Got my Triza Rod Case. Thank you so much!

I dont know. I think I heard a couple tackle wharehouse sales reps mention it. lol
so true!
It all started with Rex Hunter, "lift and wind" 😂.... But thats a whole other and different story.

I placed my first order through your guys about two weeks ago. I live in Cali and i got it pretty fast. I believe it took 4 days maybe 5.
Thank you for your business 🍻
One problem tho.
I can’t find any Orion to wet my whistle 🍺

Curious, my KJ flats look so good, but throw like potato chips. Have any tips? Or do you just throw short casts? Thanks.
Well done always good to be introduced to some different baits, more LV500'S
Thank you for watching! 👊🍻
Excellent. Thanks

Just picked up an s crank 1.5 and a tn 60 lipless the other day in some sexy bluegill colors. Looks like I need more jdm crankbaits in my life
You’re going to love both of those baits!
Had great luck with the deps 1.2
I live this one! Glad it’s working for you too!!
Do you have any idea on when you will get a restock of more colors in the blitz and blitz max?
Maybe next month. But not many until spring
Squarebill is a crazy fun bait
Yeep

Circuit board usually gives a more erratic action.

Squarebills aren’t as picky as some others. I use the Owner ST 35 and 36
@@thehookuptackle_usa ok thank you..
Are those S35 & 36 short shank hooks I have heard it said it much harder for fish to throw short shank hooks??
Thank you so much for the insite I have a question I want to get into speed cranking do you guys sell a crankbait that I can speed crank with a lot of crankbaits will blow out when you try to speed crank with them thank for your help
Sure! Shoot me a DM on IG and let me know what depth. If you want a deep river, the River 2 Sea, Deep Six, and flat Cb d20

Cant go wrong with LC
👊🍻
The best square bill crank hands down is the Jackall Aska, surprised it wasn't mentioned here.
It is a great one no dought I have several but I've had the best luck here in ohio with the deps 1.2
@@mindyvansickle3527 I may pick up one, do you fish bouncing against the cover or it gets hit even in open water?
@@WarEagleTheBest I've caught them both ways its great in cover but have caught them in open water too
Another banger video. ((Pulls out credit card))
Does anyone know why the luckycraft 1.0 is more expensive then the 1.5? Just wondering
👍
Dude you're killing me... My order from Sunday's video ain't even here yet.
Haha! Sorry 😜. Thank you for your business! 🍻
@@thehookuptackle_usa No worries.. i'll Carry on.
@@thehookuptackle_usa Anytime!
I have an Uncle Bill who is very boring and never does anything exciting. We call him Square Bill.

I live the Evoke too! And agree - would be so dope to have the larger ones in shallower diving!
I go to 6th Sense.
The real question is whether buoyant is pronounced booyant or boyant?
