  • This is the story of a centuries-old Japanese culinary craft, "Amezaiku", the art of sculpting taffy into elegant figurines. Today we visit Ame Yoshihara, which specializes in charming amezaiku animals.
This is episode 3 of Sweets Tales, an original documentary on Japanese wagashi sweets and the people who make them.

malucken no, you must be very careful. it need a lot of cushioning.while its hot, its soft and pliable , however when it cools its very hard and brittle .to watch one being made LIVE is something amazing to watch.this is a true art form ..........that you can eat.almost a shame to eat it though.

Ok. ありがとう ございます! I will be very careful! But I want to try to take some home. They are so beautiful ❤

It's basically like a caramel, so it hardens quickly and becomes brittle. It's a kind of fleeting art where you get to enjoy looking at it for a while, but you're also aware that eventually you have to eat it and it will be gone, so you consciously enjoy the taste more and savor it while it still lasts.
