Hey Everyone! A few things to note: #1. If you have 2 or more luck, you roll that many chance dies and pick the highest one. You do not add all of them. #2. If your worker is in the same space as a creature, it can't work. To scavenge you need to be on a creature tile, but the creature can't still be there. #3. To clarify skill disc placement, the first stat from skill discs will always be at the bottom of Tier 1. Additional note: There are some very rare special cases where none of the directions on a position card are valid for a creature movement. If that happens just draw a new one. Cheers!
Thanks for saying so Gert. Hope it's a good resource for getting people a solid head start on the game. Let me know if you happen to grab the game down the line. Cheers!
Gert van Bruggen Just a heads up, Frank had said there will be a larger amount of retailers in the UK will have stock available, I think after all games have been delivered. Additionally he had said that the Nordic region, not specifically the Netherlands, will be able to contact local stores for preorders
Thanks right Gert! U.K is getting a large amount of stock for retailers. The U.S is getting some in the hundred's (so not nearly as much) and there will be some at GenCon as well. Hope you're able to track one down!
Thank you for the rules overview. I really like your videos, keep up the good work =) I did catch a few things that I think are wrong in the video, please let me know if you agree. Page 7 part 7, Characters start with two move. Page 15, If you have 2 or more luck, you roll that many chance dies and pick the highest one. You do not add all of them. Page 16, If your worker is in the same space as a creature, it can't work. To scavenge you need to be on a creature tile, but the creature can't still be there. Page 20, You can't put the skill disc anywhere you want on Tier 1. You need to start at the bottom, that means that the first stat from skill discs will always be range. The discs were correctly placed in the video, but you said that it would be ok to start anywhere in Tier 1, which is not true. Small note, There are some very rare special cases where none of the directions on a position card are valid for a creature movement. If that happens just draw a new one.
Hey Jon! Yep, characters start with two move as mentioned in the video. The Page 15 and 16 rules you mentioned I'll add to the pinned comment. The last portion of the Page 20 rule will be added to the pinned comment. The small note is a good one to mention as well and I'll add that. Great feedback! Thanks so much :)
These came with the deluxe version of the game from Kickstarter. That version had a few extra nice to haves in it. Thanks for checking this playthrough out!
I see a design flaw. The stat cubes cover up what they're supposed to represent meaning you'll have to lift it up every time you want to check what the stat is at. A small thing, perhaps but the kind of thing that really bugs me.
@rollingsolo do you think once you learn it that it will be a smooth ride? I prefer games I don't need to keep referring back to the rulebook every chance I get
This one runs smooth. It’s very much a puzzle and it’s best to approach it this way. There’s certain things you can do to give yourself and advantage. Sometimes the game will throw unexpected wrenches at you that will throw off your plan. It’s unique and I enjoyed it!
@@RollingSolo I watched your solo set up and set it up. I'm now watching this. Can't wait to finally learn this. I only have retail base game so I hope it's enough
Sure wish I could tackle a game like this. I applaud you and can't wait to watch your play-thru. Is there a way to get notified when games like this start a kickstarter? I really like the bene's of a kickstarter but usually find out about it after the k/s is over. :)
Thanks nitnoid! It is quite the game but I really dig the presentation and the effort that went into creating the world. It should be a lot of fun! In terms of getting a heads up on Kickstarters, I'd recommend following my Twitter feed as I retweet Kickstarters I have my eye on. This will give you a heads up on them! Cheers!
Very nice rules overview, thanks..I could not help but notice that the quest card you used for illustration was a silly dexterity challenge. I hope those are not in abundance in the quest deck.
Thanks for the reply..I am sure when playing with others, one could chuckle watching a player attempt a dexterity quest, but for solo play, well it just seems dumb to do....I guess I will house rule those cards when they appear.
Another great runthu of the rules. Wow, this one had a quick tempo to it. A lot of info to fit in to 1 segment and I'm sure there's a lot more as we go through a game. It looks like no matter what you want to do as long as you look at your player mat and find that cube you can't go wrong. I'm sure I'll have wooden pieces everywhere my first game. And Earth Shaker, man he's large. He takes up the width of a square. I haven't read all his powers but I hope there's a special one where he jumps up and down and affects any monsters around.
Thanks GG! There seems to be quite a bit in terms of rules but once you get the idea of everything it all seems to connect in a logical and intuitive way. I hear you on the size of the Earthshaker! haha
Hy there thanks for the Video. I am digging through the rules right now. Perhaps someone could explain me two things: The attack all stat: if a monster has attack all 3 what is the difference to attack all 1? I really dont get it :-D Monsters with reflect: If a monster has reflect 2, i get damaged for every attack i resolve, right?
Hey Marco! No problem my friend. For your second question, the reflect would trigger after every attack (is my understanding). You already got the first question figured out. See you in the next episode. Hoping things continue to looking up for our two heroes!

Amazing rules overview video. I like this one more than the official! :D
Thanks Tiago! Glad this helped you out. :)
very good overview about the Rules if i ever get this game then i am going back here to lissen again.
Thanks for saying so Gert. Hope it's a good resource for getting people a solid head start on the game. Let me know if you happen to grab the game down the line. Cheers!
i am looking around on different sites and forums in my country The Netherlands but nothing so far.

oke thx for the info going to ask a few retailers over here if they are able to get the game somehow.
Thanks right Gert! U.K is getting a large amount of stock for retailers. The U.S is getting some in the hundred's (so not nearly as much) and there will be some at GenCon as well. Hope you're able to track one down!
Are your action descriptions starting at 30:49 and 31:32 for the exact same action of "Build"?
Also... what is an item card? Should that read "equipment card"?
It’s been a bit since I played so I’d need to look into it. Thanks for watching and the feedback Bruce!

Ok, sorry about that then =). I didn't actually remember what you said; it is just that the cube sits on one move the entire time that put me off.
Don't worry about it Jon! Really appreciate the feedback. The rules have to be correct, so this helps tighten any loose ends. Cheers! :D
Great overview, I know this was a long time ago but where did you get the plastic overlay for the heroes?

That’s a great point and I noticed this as well. Maybe translucent cubes would have been better?
Either that or have the numbers above the stat cube spaces kinda like the HP/RAD track in the Fallout boardgame.
That would work as well! Maybe I'll find some see through cubes from another game and steal them someday haha
