The Steelers lose to bad football teams. And they beat good football teams. It's not rocket science, even though he tries to make it out like it is. The Colts, Cowboys, and now the Browns. Don't believe your eyes, folks.

Nail on the head dude! I like DK also. His prob is sometimes being too optimistic at times, which leads to a "cheerleading" of sorts. Did the O line suck? LORD YES! However, this "elite" D gives up far too many long drives at inopportune times. O takes lead late. THAT'S when you need the three and out. What's Fields doing throwing a 50/50 deep ball on a 3rd and 4? Also DK still thinks Watt is DPOTY worthy. Where was he last night? Check your milk carton. There's much more wrong with this team than there is right. You all, if your being truly honest, know how this will end. One and done in playoffs.
I could write paragraphs bout the inadequacies of this team. But I don't get paid to do so. Ergo, I ain't gonna bother. That what y'all pay DK to do. So listen to him. He 's got good analysis. But, when he gets all sunshine and rainbows, get ready for the disaster. Once again, I like you DK. But i think your too close to players as people to see the forest for the trees. Be blessed y'all! Yashua rules!

DK I read a report where Darnell Washington said that Broderick’s problem stems from his days @ GA where the 2 of them never had to hone their skills because they played next to each other and simply physically bullied the guys in front of them. Washington realised quickly that wasn’t going to fly @ the NFL level so he made it a priority to hone his blocking skills but Broderick is still just relying on trying to physically bully the guy in front of him but he’s the one getting outmanned at times and that’s why his play is so inconsistent.

I understand the idea the Russ holds the ball too long. However, depending on what playcall it is, it may need a considerable amount of time for the play to develope. Therefore, your QB needs time in the pocket. And this O-line is not affording Russ that time. Let's go back. When Russ made that pass to William's for the game winning TD. He made that pass while running backwards with a defender in his face and took a hit after. Goff for the Lions holds the ball long as well. The difference is.... he can. Because his O-line affords him that. The Steelers got to get it together up front. They also need to stop putting LGs on the Right, RTs on the left and vice versa. This continued experiment has not worked in the Steelers favors. You draft them high for a particular side. Let the play on that side. Moore was horrible last night, Sunday and against the commanderss. Just once, put B. Jones on his natural side. Lastly. The offense really needs to get deep into scramble drills. Russ scrambles and no one is trying to get open. Run their routes and stop. Move the hell around for god sakes. Love the show DK

@charlesaskew8619 sorry sir. You're incorrect. The 2 shots. One to Pickens ( incomplete) the TD to Austin. Those were the only two out off all the snaps he took. And to my point, he got hammered after release to Austin. He is not throwing deep from a clean pocket. Give that man his credit. He takes the punch in the mouth to push the ball downfield. He's been doing it since he started at QB. The Offensive line is patchwork. They may give Russell two or 3 plays were they actually look good. Watch the games. Go back and watch the games. Jets, Giants, Washington, Baltimore. Then watch teams with good O-lines and THEN make the comparisons. And trust me, you will see the difference.

  • @SalimShaikh-ru6xw

I'll be curious as to what Ramon Foster has to say about this game. He mentioned right at the beginning of the season that it takes a while for an offensive line to gel, and I think we are seeing that. At the same time, I think, once again, that the offense is too predictable on 1st and 2nd down, and all teams just crowd the line of scrimmage... Ignore the middle of the field which is often open... And just win the line of scrimmage on numbers. And on obvious passing downs opposing defenses often stunt or blitz which makes it even more difficult for Young offensive lineman to adjust to. On the other hand, our defensive line pretty much sets up in the same way every time. 4 rushers, almost no blitzing, and no stunting. You've got a pocket passer and you want to make it this easy for the offensive linemen on the other side? This team is getting close to making TJ Watt irrelevant on passing downs because there is no change in the schemes and all you need to do is chip him or double him and maybe double Cam or Herbig or whoever and then you're giving the quarterback too much time to find the open man in what is often soft coverage...and even Matt Williamson has mentioned this! Now if your own defense doesn't do this, is it any surprise that the offensive line has no idea what to do when an opposing team does it in a game?

Ive been saying for awhile I hate how Teryl Austin calls this defense...yeah its good but we hardly blitz, switch schemes or anything seems like we play conservative whenever we get a lead which tends to result our defense giving up the lead thus they give up momentum and I agree TJ Watt gets doubled or chipped every game and we make little to No adjustments to help we just watch it happen and say "well I guess thats it" like no help that man!

Whelp, I hope Double Shot tomorrow is centered around the game Tomlin coached, because it was lousy. Yes, the OL was terrible, but I would say the DL did their best to out terrible them. You’re right DK, if the Steelers needed a yard they couldn’t get it. If the defense needed to make a stop on 4th down they couldn’t.

This game was a tough one and it really doesn't matter what is the Browns record. Every divisional game will have this caliber. The steelers actually did have a chance to win this game when it was already lost without any hope. Red zone for this type of environment, I would have used more Justin than Russel. Nice game to the end!, loved it

J1Q. On the final drive for Cleveland, Winston threw a ball that was CLEARLY intentional grounding but an OL touched it. My question, is there some obscure rule that Illegal Touching overrides IG? IG comes with a loss of down so the Browns would have been faced with 4th and 13 instead of 3rd and 7, despite all our woes last night that call was huge! I stayed up watching to see if anyone could explain but I got nothing. I'm thinking the league may end up apologizing 😎

I know the vid is about the Offense, particularly the O-line and I don't disagree with what was said here. But this is the second time the game is on the line and its up to the highest paid D in the league to get a stop and.......they dont.
Yes the offense left plays on the field, not going to get an argument from me there. They need to be better than what they showed if they want to make noise in the playoffs. But I don't hold the Offense in the same regard as the Defense and I dont think I'm alone in that.
All I know is in the Cowboy game and this one, 2 min left, Steelers have a lead, and the better, more veteran, higher paid unit is on the field and doesn't get it done. And I would argue this is worse than the Cowboy game better the conditions in this game favored Defense. Im starting to lose confidence in the D in that scenario.
Now let the comments roasting me commence!

The vid is about the offense because the offense is and has been the problem for years. No defense has a magic wand they can wave and shut out teams when needed. This yearning for such a defense is killing the Steelers. Stop using the defense to give this pitiful offense slack.

    DK,
Agree 100% with your comments regarding the OL. The conservative and predictable way the Steelers want to run the offense (especially on 1st and 2nd down) would work if they had the personnel upfront to execute it, but they don’t. And I’m not sure that any NFL team does. It’s an antiquated approach to offense. It lacks the creativity that we see in every other playoff caliber team in the NFL.

Oline kills drives by themselves whether it’s not getting push in the run letting up quick pressures in the pass and then penalties. Like you said we make everyone’s front 7 look like pro bowlers. It’s sickening.
The receivers have no clue what to do when Wilson rolls out no type of scramble drill synergy. Receivers not named Pickens and Williams bc we haven’t seen him much runs lazy routes , muth and Washington route running terrible but both have good hands. Connor heyward is terrible not good at anything trrrible run blocker , mid hands terrible routes.? Get him outta there.
Arthur smith where is the quick out routes the slants on fourth down when the defense plays off.. why keep running the ball right up the strength of the defense… like come on man..
what we go get Williams for if we throwing deep to Patterson ..
Front four disappointing outing against a team allowing 46 sacks on the year back up tackles .. minkah get your head right bruh you been out of place in coverage all season , great in run defense but subpar in coverage .. Porter you too big and physical to not be getting hands on Jeudy ! Jackson and Elliot fight for the ball don’t just let your guy go up and get it!!

I just can't wrap my mind around trotting an ineffective Harris out there playing after play and the mind-boggling clock management and waste of timeouts in the final minutes. My wife and I have had a running joke for, oh, probably eighteen years now about Tomlin burning second-half timeouts when his defense is on the field in a one-score game. One of us will turn to the other and say "good timeout, we aren't gonna need that" when the offense really could use it. I think it was Romo and Nantz on the Chiefs/Bills call talking about how they always make sure their defense is on the right page and always save their timeouts for the endgame. I'm pretty positive the Steelers burn one every week in the third quarter and they're lucky if they still have one by the final possession.
Anyway, between burning the timeouts and not having the situational awareness to let Chubb score when he got that big red zone run late and letting the Browns run an extra 35 seconds off the clock gave the offense :50 and one timeout instead of 1:20+ and two timeouts....setting yourself up to fail.

Lets call it the "Chuks effect"
Back me up on this DK, Chuks was an immensely gifted individual, who did pretty well because of his gifts but never really had to push himself too hard so he never did.
Contast that to a Hines Ward or AB who worked INSANELY hard to make up for the fact that perhaps they weren't the most elite atheletes at their position but THEY MADE THEMSELVES ELITE PERFORMERS.
Some people are so gifted that they can be really good players without pushing themselves to the limit & beyond

I agree with the issues we're having. Where I am disappointed with your assessment is with the line. The line is what and who it is. We have NO viable options to replace those players with a higher quality player out there. So the only option is to scheme and build them as a unit, and we know that it a prpcess which they are going through. Men find a way, and that is what they're doing. 8-3 Let's enjoy this journey and stop comparing it to the past. They're maturing before your eyes. We have 3 young linemen starting with 1 year or less years of experience. They're doing fine and are on pace to be very moody, tough and dominant players.
You remember from High School or College, we grew, found our identity and became a Championship team. From that point and the following seasons we started the season knowing we were dominant. Enjoy the Journey and don't blink.
