Depends on the nature of the debt. Some debt can't be discharged through Chapter 7 (e.g., student loans). Usually, an individual must file for a Chapter 13 debt restructure. Depending on what the bankruptcy court rules, some or all of it might get discharged but some might not. It can get extremely convoluted.
And if the debts are with certain people or organizations, filing bankruptcy will have absolutely no effect on how much you owe, or which body parts are at risk if you don't pay.
"Things that didn't happen for $1000, Alex." In the same situation, this would have been handled like this: - Scammy Real Estate Agent (SRA) unknowingly calls Owner of the building extorts money and lies directly to the owner. - Owner tells SRA to get bent. - Owner calls the Real Estate management company and asks them what the actual f**k is going on, and gets some kind of run-around. - Owner calls their lawyer to start proceeding to end contract with SRA, and then starts calling/talking to residents directly to get them settled down. - Owner ends contract with SRA for cause, and refers the matter to the State AG's office because this kind of activity is fraud.
The economy isn’t the issue. The outsourcing of jobs are the issues here. There are people who can’t find employment because jobs were sent overseas and people have been finding other means of living arrangements. There’s a job blight that is constantly happening because for example, people with certain levels of experience can’t find employment that lets them utilize their skills to help supplement the economy. Remember this. No jobs. No resources.
I’m a Landlord I have a 19 unit building all one bedrooms and 69 unit building a mix. I have a management company that handles the properties and not one time did they raise the rent without my authority and even though I lost a fortune during Covid I did not raise the rent I’ve had tenants that have been with me For a long time
Sorry, but parts of these convos were unnecessarily drawn out by withholding basic information. The landlord should have just come out and said "bitch I'm the landlord." When her nephew was going on and on about how he couldn't afford the rent, one sentence should have set things straight: "I haven't raised the rent. That messenger is scamming you. Forward me all the text messages and contact information. Also, it's my personal responsibility to directly contact each tenant to warn them of these false messages rather than rely on the miscreant to do that." Also, another compulsive spender-debt issue? I guess that's on the bingo card 😂
I has working poor, would love a place thats bigger then the one bd 2 others now. Its ridiculous that a person who's job is caring for others that can't care for themselves would be paid so little , but there you are
I have had some good landlords and some awful ones. Most have been good. My last apartment before I bought was my home for 15 years. IIRC my first rent was about $700 for a 1200 sq ft 2 bedroom. When I moved out 15 years later I was spending something like $850. Average rent increase of $10 per year, which is very reasonable. If something broke, they fixed it in a timely manner and the onsite manager was responsive. I did have one place where the manager was scamming the landlord and I had to get the authorities involved in order to get a repair done. He pocketed the money instead of buying the part needed to fix my heat.

i guess im just too different, if i was a property owner there's NO WAY id hire a property management company in the first place just to manage my property.. id be responsible and do it myself.. id have it set up that my renters could deposit a check, money order or pay direct deposit into an account for that property in case i had to make repairs, insurance, and property taxes and take very little out for myself personally especially if i was living in one of my rental properties.. i use to to have rental properties and i never did use property managers, they remind me too much of HOAs, i handled past due accounts, and evictions myself.. i think its just lazy to not handle your own business!!!!
Maybe she has an actual job that keeps her busy during the day. I certainly hope she does
So, let me guess, agent was going to pocket the difference.
Oh what tangled web we weave when we first practice to deceive
didn't they have have another one like this on the first Apple Text channel? but i love different videos, the cheating husband or wife or whatever are getting old and boring same with the best friends stealing the OP's lover how bout some new and different ones for a change
It was same thing on the other Chanel but the old lady would not let them get away with it. All cause they wanted money for other things not knowing who the landlord is wth.
@@Wifeofasoldiermomto5andgrandma i think it's funny how they pull stunts like this not knowing who the landlord is
yep.
@@phantomprincess2541 they only want more money so she can can pay her debt off. The landlord pulled a good one and got her fired for her crap that she did pull. I agree with op on all this.
@@Wifeofasoldiermomto5andgrandma i know i watched the whole thing it's funny how she went from a demanding princess to a shocked Pikachu after she found out she was talking to the landlord the entire time 😂
I would have called the cops and have a lawyer to charge her with fraudulent intent.
Honestly? It's already fishy at the point where she said not to contact the landlord about the raising price. 😕 Glad the landlord is a nice lady. 👍
I wish this story wasn't a fairy tale. 😪
Have mercy on me, a shopper!!!
Girlllll you need to get your facts straight before trying to scam people
Why wasn't the first thing she said that it was a scam? Poor communication skills.
She probably didn't want the hey we want your property scam as well
It's called " giving a fool plenty of rope to hang themself" .
Because it's not real, it's a story for drama and entertainment
@@janetd5121 What? Say it isn't so!!!
Daniel was annoying. Dude did not listen to shut.
If you live onsite, just rent directly and skip the agents shenanigans altogether
I was confused about this until i realized its not everywhere they have laws protecting tennants and limiting how much and how the rent can increase
This Story reminds me of the guy
Who tried to toss out a lady
Saying that she was poor
So get out
Never realized THAT
it was HER BUILDING!!!
Another recycled plot, but I've seen this in real life, too. Except that, in those cases, it was the landlord doing the extorting. Since I moved out before it got too bad I didn't see if Kaptain Karma got involved, but I sure hope he did. Because, if anyone deserved it, they did.
But how long did Emma rot in jail? Inquiring minds want to know!
They did this one already.
"...but he told *be* about..."
Listen to be for once - GET A COPY CHECKER.
If that is the price for the first floor I hate to see the price for the other floors.
Bankruptcy can cure the problems that ail ya. And, you can still keep your job.
@@rogerrabbit80 Which, I suspect, is probably the case here, at least in part.
Miss Madison is a fair selfless landlord who cares about her tenets more than money!!!
You can’t raise the rent if until the current lease agreement is expired.
Rent increase outside of usual lease renewal would have been in a letter from the landlord or management company.
"Things that didn't happen for $1000, Alex."
In the same situation, this would have been handled like this:
- Scammy Real Estate Agent (SRA) unknowingly calls Owner of the building extorts money and lies directly to the owner.
Greetings All 👍🏻
Greetings and enjoy your day 🤗
Ahh recycled story but still as good as ever
The economy isn’t the issue. The outsourcing of jobs are the issues here. There are people who can’t find employment because jobs were sent overseas and people have been finding other means of living arrangements. There’s a job blight that is constantly happening because for example, people with certain levels of experience can’t find employment that lets them utilize their skills to help supplement the economy. Remember this. No jobs. No resources.
I’m a Landlord I have a 19 unit building all one bedrooms and 69 unit building a mix. I have a management company that handles the properties and not one time did they raise the rent without my authority and even though I lost a fortune during Covid I did not raise the rent I’ve had tenants that have been with me For a long time
There's a property near my building that's, as far as I know, owned by a retired officer, and the rent there was $1100 by their choice.
There's a special place in hell for Emma, and karma is sure to lead her right to it. 🤬
The double in real estate price is an actual fact in my area, a 2 bedrooms is 3 grand in my area
I has working poor, would love a place thats bigger then the one bd 2 others now. Its ridiculous that a person who's job is caring for others that can't care for themselves would be paid so little , but there you are
Geezus why beat round the bush.
WHAT IS THE BACKGROUND MUSIC ITS AMAZING
This story is virtually identical to another they did a few months ago....are they simply recycling content?
Oh yeah they wanted to kick someone out, I remember that one
The stories of life are recycled content too
I'm from Germany. So, can someone explain what "power" these real estate agents have? I have a landlord but ... o.O
I feel like this is an old story.. still enjoyed it though
I forget how people outside the US see the states. Or the problems other countries deal with
I mean, I’d be on her side, but honestly, she’s a landlord so I’m against both of them
Why is the landlord paying rent if she owns the building? Doesn't are sense.
This is a rerun story from a sister apple channel. What's up with that? It's the 2nd rerun this week.
