Jimmy Page may be controversial, but no one can deny his influence on Led Zeppelin and the entire rock music scene. Whether live or in the studio, his music continues to stand the test of time

They stole almost everything. Most Led Zeppelin hits were stolen. Page has been constantly sued over this.

Page wrote the guitar parts for "The Rain Song." Blackmore never composed anything as complicated or as beautiful as "The Rain Song." Not to mention "Stairway." To me Page is better than Blackmore.

@@robertgarcia3031 you have to separate guitar playing , with all the other facets of being a musician , no one is better or worse, when you’re at their level of musicianship, so next step , Rain song Achilles etc are compositions of guitar Keyboards. Drumming , that elevate the songs , straight rock guitar playing, their in the same league, but for the whole song and diversity, Page and Zeppelin, are in a league of their own , respect to Ritchie !!!

Jealous is what I see from Blackmore & Richards, they both knew Page was better than them. Yes later in Led Zeppelin there were some conflicts, two wanted to go in one direction, & two in another. Stop acting like Jimmy was the only addicted musician, thankfully he survived & overcame his addictions.
The Rolling Stones still touring, still aren’t as great as Led Zeppelin. Deep Purple, some great songs, but not the top of the trifecta many mention. Jimmy’s multi musical genius outshines them all, playing writing producing mixing etc. JPJ chose to be more behind the scenes, but fans know of his genius & contributions.

My only complaint about Page is his theft of riffs from blues greats without compensation or even praise and acknowledgement of the Blues great’s he stole them from. Clapton and the Stones did a lot to be sure these men got the attention and respect they deserved. Also , even though the estate of Randy California lost the lawsuit about the lifting the acoustic guitar prelude to Stairway to Heaven from Spirits song Taurus. Listen and compare the two songs and tell me you can’t hear the similarities. It’s not a coincidence that they were on the same bill together often in 68 and 69 and Page heard it played at the shows they did together .

Blackmore is a great guitar player no doubt , and he praised Page from as far back when Jimmy was a studio musician, both great players , but Jimmy has so much more that he brings to the table , he almost single handed, put arguably the greatest debut album, especially considering that was an inventive time 1968 , sept until April 69 at Fillmore was the number one band , beating the Beatles by the begging of 1970 , after the first album took off then Zeppelin became the group effort , but with out Pages vision of what he wanted , picking the best musicians that shared his vision . He doesn’t get enough credit , he’s not just a riff master , he almost single handed changed rock music , not Hendrix not , Blackmore , not Clapton or Beck could have done what he did , some might be better players , or this and that , but he piloted the thing at the beginning, his money , his connections, his business savvy, all those things had to come together For them to get a chance. Amazing ,

Blackmore also stole heavily and didn't pay anybody their due. His most famous riff was a direct lift of Carlos Lyra's song "Maria Moita". But, at least Blackmore admits to stealing ideas. Having said that, they did both turn something simple into rock classics.

They have opinions about each other and that's normal. They do that all the time. people do that all the time. Both were stratospheric in their skills and both should be respected and enjoyed for what they created. For me Jon Lord and Ritchie were the best one-two sonic punch ever put together. Does not mean I like Zeppelin and page any less.

Besides, "Blackmore's precision vs. Page's improvisational style". If the person who wrote the script to this mumbo jumbo knew anything about these guys's playing styles they would instead high-light that Page's style is more loose. BUT if you notice in this video we never get to know where they have taken the "info" from. And we never hear Blackmore say anything in this video. GRFrailroad was forced to stopp their act as opening band for LZ by LZ-manager Peter Grant, because Grant knew immediately that LZ could never top GF. Farner and Brewer then watched the LZ-performance and said that they watched two posers. Live unbearbable for me to watch a singer in a ridiculous bolero jacket with just one pose only LZ is the Numberone rock band of all time. However, I always prefered Deep Purple and Blackmore. Greg Lake once said: show me a successfull band and I show you a band that fights.

Glen Campbell, Roy Clark, Jeff Beck, Terry Kath, Duane Allman, Prince, Paco de Lucía, Al Di Meola, Eddie Van Halen, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Buckethead, and Ritchie Blackmore could play circles around the most overrated, over-hyped, guitar player called Jimmy Page.
Just listen to "Made in Japan" and compare and contrast it with "The Song Remains the Same" (the original vinyl release not the edited re-issue) !
Page is also a proven plagiarist; look at the songwriting credits on Zeppelin's original album releases and compare them to the songwriting credits on Zeppelin's re-issues. NOTICE ANY DIFFERENCE ?????
There it is in written form for all the world to see that Led Zeppelin were the biggest douche bags in popular music !
When the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Van Halen covered other people's songs they, unlike Led Zeppelin, gave credit where credit was due !
It's called integrity, something Jimmy Page never had !
