    I’m a graphic designer Cassie, and I see nothing but problems coming from this AI. I had a discussion with my hubby who is a doctor, which will affect the medical industry too, not just artists and designers only . They are killing Creativity for Humanity. I think AI will be controlled very soon, only a few rich, more powerful people will only have access to it. Very interesting topic you brought today. Love your videos as always ❤❤❤❤❤❤

      If doctor still practicing only old doctrine installed western medicine, controlled by design by Big Pharma, there is no future for them! There are already med beds. Are they av to public , not yet. Why because they suppressed by those who dont want you to ever heal. They want to treat you forever! Med beds are healing any disease, disorder, and more, something like repair your DNA, and age you back. There is enough wealth in the world, for everyone have at least minimum. Equality? Absolutely not! But everyone can have happy minimum, and for some its absolutely enough…. And this system is coming. Nesara quantum financial system, will change everything for the better.😉

    I’m a software engineer 👩‍💻 with a masters in engineering, and took courses on AI, algorithms, machine learning in engineering grad school! AI is growing too fast and all jobs, even mine are at risk, unless we learn to control it, tweak it and have checks and boundaries in place! Can it replace human creativity? - no, because the best masterpieces came from a place of raw pain and AI or chatGPT cannot emulate or feel pain- but it’s super annoying to have your work stolen or worse- replaced! My 2 cents, Amy

    An interesting and polarizing conversation...not just in the realm of fashion, as you pointed out. I am of the 'let's wait and see' POV. I hope that it doesn't go too far, and as some have said, override or 'kill the creativity of humanity'.

  • @fashionjunkie4198

    I think the big issue is do we no longer own the rights to ourselves, meaning our voices, our bodies, our faces if we post an image on the internet. Not saying we don’t already forfeit those rights but to blatantly be used for monetary gain without knowledge is a bit scary. Nonetheless I would not want to hear or see myself under someone’s “project” I do not know

    I think AI is a pretty polarising topic, in my view AI has been more problematic in the art world because of how it can easily replicate people's art styles so it's interesting how it is being applied in fashion

    As a designer and seamstress I can appreciate the AI for seeing the idea but like you said this pushes what fabrics can be used to create such looks. Most textiles can do more than we think. I imagine that an AI is created from the creativity of the human mind and the description of one’s thoughts… But it definitely pushes the bounds

  • @abma9623

    I’m taking the wait and see approach on anything and everything about AI. It’s one of the greatest creation of man, it is a benign technology but in the wrong hands, it can do damage more than help to humans. In terms of fashion, I think it will not replace the creativity/inspiration of the designing part, but the craft and the skill to turn the design to life will where AI will be inevitable. But nowadays, nothing surprises me anymore.

  • @wordsbygemm
    @wordsbygemm ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I love the point about past resistance to technology because I think it was always hard for us to imagine why people would fear the internet and all the changes that would come with it. Also great point made about fashion designers evolving into 'prompt engineers'. I believe that humans benefit from being creative so it seems wrong to reduce human involvement in the creative process to just inputting, reviewing and refining.

  • @MissPirate29
    @MissPirate29 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Whatever AI produces has to be validated. For the product descriptions example I think it can help as it can speed up the process without eliminating the need of a human. In creative fields it's difficult because of what you mentioned. It can help with ideas but that 'help' is also a limiting factor in a way as it pushes you in a certain direction and then you're kinda tunnelled into it without realising.

    This sounds stupid but I think AI is still missing that human element that won’t lend it to fashion well. I love learning the reason behind a collection…what personal elements of their history, the brands history, their interests has the designer put into their work. Trying to put a “memory of a beach holiday I did with my parents when I was six” is hard to generate in AI. It can feel disconnected, the designs look cool but that’s about it. I think AI has blasted onto the scene and we are still understanding it’s limits and ability

    From my understanding the brain process of designing an outfit without AI is very different to designing with it, you mentioned the person even described it as easy. However, I think there's something important in the creative process and whatever the brain goes through to come up with ideas. That thing is now being reduced to a basic input output process. In terms of democratising fashion as much as that can be great there's also negative implications. Technology making a repetitive, laborious task easier is so different to technology reducing the need for people to think, create and come up with ideas.

    I have so many thoughts on this! In terms of jobs, anytime there's an advancement in technology people lose their jobs or industries are significantly reduced or wiped out. It will be interesting to see how this impacts the photography industry because if you can use AI to create an image, why would you use a photographer (and all the other roles involved in a shoot)? I think AI should be regulated because the distinction between real and AI is important and they're not the same. However, if they create the same end result then I can see the need for distinguishing the difference reducing or even if you have to state something is AI it will be treated the same as the non-AI version.

    The Tiffany x Nike collab is such a good example of how AI designs can really really work. I think the real rub of AI art is that it, by definition, removes all artistic context because it's just algorithmically generating an image based on other images; nothing original. Collabs, however, don't really need artistic context, they just need to look like a visually interesting mix of two brands primarily in order to make money. AI couldn't be more perfect for creating Brand x Brand, especially when the real Tiffany x Nikes were bland compared to the AI renders.

    I'm wondering what is the point. For example a designer now having to type out a description using words instead of just sketching it? It seems too cumbersome to use words where drawing would actually seem faster and easier. I don't see it having longevity in luxury fashion. Maybe fast fashion where alot of the design is repetitive. It is a little terrifying though.

  • @carmelasantana3091
    @carmelasantana3091 ปีที่แล้ว

    I definitely think all AI-generated work/images should be labelled as such, for the sake of transparency. As for the IP aspect as relates to fashion, I don't know a lot about it, or about paying royalties/licensing, but I've seen many large brands ripping off the Chanel quilted bag look or the Chanel tweed jacket, for example; other designers have said they've been heavily influenced by the work of specific peers; we continually see 50s, 60s 70s 80s "revivals", copying the hot designers of that era. So, it's hard to say if IP regarding AI would be a thing, considering designers are already influenced by what they see.

    Technically AI is still a manipulated by the human aspect of what we perceive a style to be based on human experience. It is still completely subjective and yes, I agree the fact that AI doesn’t take into account textures and fabrics will make sure humans within the fashion industry don’t lose their jobs. I think ethical dilemmas will be had when we have people creating AI engines for products/ styles that don’t have the background in knowing the design history do styles and providing the prompts.

    At the end of the day, like all technology: it is has potential for good and for evil, and human beings will deploy it for both purposes. There will be ramifications in both directions. As far as employment, there's also a traceable trajectory: technology has always put human beings out of jobs, but created others (I will say, I do think technology has made us lazier and the loss of human skill is evident; even in fashion. Places like France where "metiers" and artisans are protected by government is a rarity, which makes me think that new forms of workforce protectionism in European haute couture & other creative industries will also emerge.

    AI using existing images as a base, to me, is no different than human designers being affected by everything they see.

    It seems like a separate art form to me. Ideas can be generated with AI, but how does it translate into wearable products? It seems like an interesting rabbit hole to explore, but not practical in reality. Jmo.

    Interesting topic. Personally I’m against AI because of the concern surrounding people losing their jobs and losing the concept of human connection. I am fine if society starts to move towards AI but I think that would force us to go into a more socialist government. There will be devastating job loss across all fields so how do we survive as a species if we can’t find a job to pay expenses?? I know it sounds a bit dramatic but those are my initial thoughts. I’ll have to do more research on this topic but my brain is so resistant to this idea hahahaha

    I don't envy the young anymore. The brave new world they will inherit & inhabit may become a very hostile place. AI could evolve to a point where it can't be controlled or regulated & therein lies the problem. Like Frankenstein, AI is a human creation we may come to deeply regret. Especially, if it turns on us.
