An air of sadness about that house. Neglect and abandonment.. but someone did live in in for a long time as it was decaying all around them, that must have been sad to see... all those memories of love... animals, people and children. I'd love to be able to watch the life of that house in reverse... starting from your footage and going back through the years as children played, decorations were up and the house was alive. What a lot of stuff we gather round us and cling onto as we age... attaching sentimentality and memories to objects, but there are no pockets in shrouds and we take nothing with us when we take our last breath. Another great watch, thank you.

I honestly don’t know how you resist the urge to salvage. I upcycle furniture and there are things in that house that could be absolutely beautiful and worth a buck. I was salivating over the China hutch in the dining room!

Hey RnK, Rob, every video I watch of abandonment, I always, always wonder the same thing of what you just said! Why? How? I guess only the walls of the house knows the answer. If only they could talk! To me, I feel sadness like that could have been my grandparents house. Hopefully there was once joy and happiness there! I love all your videos!!! Cool your with Dane. Be safe!

I enjoy RNK videos the most due to the artistic aspects. The setup, the shots, the background music, and photos all combine together for an intriguing story to get pulled into, and leaves a viewer questioning what happened to the homeowner.

Great video, I loved it. Some beautiful old/ antique stuff in there. I think the thing in the cabinet/ hutch was for jam/ jelly, set it on the table at mealtimes.
Almost 3 years ago my husband died, just a month before his 70th birthday. He was a hoarder, he had his garage & the basement full of stuff. After he died, about 2 years, I sold the place, I was to old to take care of it all & expenses, taxes, was too much for me. We went through stuff, family pictures, personal things, kept what we wanted, I sold some stuff, gave away, donated a lot & I just walked away from the rest. The new owner knew & said it was ok, he'd clean out the rest. But it wasn't as bad as this house, was more organized. I just wanted to start over with as LITTLE as possible, I bought a mobile home in a court, bought a storage shed to put things in I wanted to keep, & me & my little dog are happy with very little clutter..lol

It's always sad to see things like this. Irreplaceable family heirlooms left behind. I'm like you, I always wonder why the surviving family members don't at least get the irreplaceable items. I'm finding though many people now have no sentimental feelings towards things like that which is resulting in them and their stories being lost forever. Another great explore, really enjoyed it!

It’s so sad I ask myself the same questions all those abandoned places hold such mystery and why the county in each place doesn’t go in and either trash them out or donate or auction the stuff off then board up the places till they can be sold or torn down it’s just crazy but sometimes I think maybe things weren’t taken out because maybe the stuff was subjected to mold or something that would cause health problems or I know in the case of hauntings or something evil in the house you don’t wanna take those things out or in cases of eviction they’re forced to leave with no time to grab everything who knows and some people just disappear maybe because of legal problems or they’re on the run

I recognize so many of the things in that house from my childhood. The toys were from the 1950’s. So were most of the things hanging on the walls and the furniture. There are a lot of antique valued items there. I’m guessing the children grew up and moved away and an elderly parent lived there alone and couldn’t afford to keep up with the house repairs. I think this elderly person died and Apparently the children weren’t interested in their childhood memories. This house feels like it was filled with sadness.

It’s been awhile since I have seen that much kitch from 4 decades in one house...it spans the 40s to the 70s. Pretty overwhelming when everything of value is gone and only the weird gift shop stuff is left. The house was originally quite beautiful I think, but whoever last lived there appears to have just given up judging by the stains on the door frames, they just stopped cleaning. They likely died in the home given the dentures left on the sink, it’s rather sad to think a once vibrant home ends this way. Great job showing it as always Robb, you have a very sensitive approach to these places. Thank you...stay safe out there, and don’t let the bastards grind you down.🖤🇨🇦

Those family photo's tell u who lived there, a military person, loving family. Penthouse magazines!! Hheheheheh!!! Not enough excitement! I'm the same as you, Robb, Why? So many elderly with out close family, for whatever reason. They live in their homes, can't do the up keep, get sick or injured and wind up in a care home. It is really sad, the state takes over and seizes all the assets, so if there is anything left they sell it to cover any medical and care home costs. The way we treat the elderly is horrible.

There's a house in Marion Indiana that, if it's still standing, would look like this.
I'd entered it twice and stayed within the kitchen/living area; a guy I dated lived there. No electricity worked downstairs, so he lived upstairs or just out of the house.
He grew up in it and moved back with his mom when his dad suddenly died. By the time I met him she moved to a daughters in another state and just let him know what to move. The rest was history just abandoned, but it looked plenty abandoned by the time I saw it.

lol whoever lived there was definitely into model railroading. My dad has a lot of those Model Railroader magazines laying around the house too.
And I know you pointed out that the disrepair happened in two years, but I think it's been going on since the person was alive. It was probably an elderly man, judging by the items, and he couldn't keep up with the maintenance on the house. A lot of the flaking on the ceiling and clutter piling up happened at my grandma's house when she couldn't physically keep the house maintained anymore, and I'm noticing a lot of the same things here.

Sadly the generation coming up today appear to not hold the same sentiment regarding past memobilia as the older generation. Old photos of Grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles don't hold a special place in their heart. Therefore, no real purpose to come and clean up. They also appear to be a lazier generation not really having any reason to desire to come and cleanup a place they have no interest for. I've seen videos where grandchildren have left homes of valuable antiques, home photos, keepsakes, and lots of land just to waste back to the elements. Such a sad truth of the current era of today's society. Such a really big shame that history means nothing to the upcoming generations. Makes my hurt hurt, literally.

Maybe they just took what they could because they had no money to pay the bills. The only thing that looked like it was worth anything was the dining room table and chairs and the china cabinet. They rest was not really worth anything. Maybe they just hooked up a trailer and moved to Alaska or to some other state where there was family, or work. Let's hope that's the case and not illness or passing away. Thanks for a good explore!

  • @lauraliekarels4059
    @lauraliekarels4059 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

So many people always claim it was a hoarder house when usually that is not the case. Many times older people have no way to get old or broken things out of the house. They can't afford the cost of getting things hauled away. Kids move out and leave their stuff behind intending to get it later or use the things when they bring their own kids to visit. When you are older and maybe have Hth problems, things just fall further and further into disrepair. Believe me, they notice! Living on a fixed income, you are scared to leave a place that is paid for, yours-for the uncertainty of having to pay rent and losing your rental, let alone come up with the energy and health needed to put up a place for sale and all that entails, finding a place and the actual move itself. Families don't seem to care for their own anymore. Leave it to the county to take care of the elderly.

When it comes to leaving belongings behind I've got a story for you,. in 1981 when my great-grandma died where I was from they would put in the newspaper of where the funeral is going to be at and what time and it would for some reason they tell of the person's address of where they used to live we were at the funeral when her house got ransacked talk about sad.

Bought the place, lost job, not enough money for a few years, and disappeared when there were to much bills too pay, just one scenario, nice place tho.

What a creepy place, good thing you went there in the day. It looks like it was a nice place at one time, until it became a hoarder house. The old people must have died, and none of the relatives wanted anything. And if they lived far away who would want to ship any of that old stuff? It looked like the place was in disrepair long before 2016, and now the elements will decay it into the ground. Good Video I really liked the Narration, some people never speak on their videos , and they are boring. Looking forward to your next video.

Why doesn’t the city clean it out? Or find the next of kin? Maybe restore and sell? Or let the homeless live? Did you find the history of the last family that lived here

The 1950's diamond linoleum in the bathroom and those chalkware mid century fish!!! I just Knew there'd be something I flipped over in this house! At 11:24 there's a tray with another brown cigarello-type smoke in it but this one has some kind of filter on it. Not weed, it appears. Great explore, thanks for sharing!

I am a huge fan of yours. Being sentimental, it breaks my heart when I see things people leave behind. I'm thinking there was only one person left in this house and he or she died because who would leave their dentures?
