This song is one part cover song, one part original. Half of each verse is taken from Mississippi Fred McDowell's "Fred's Worried Life Blues." The rest is our own concoction. When we wrote the upbeat part of the song, I couldn't hear the typical blues sentiment. Instead, it kind of became a motivational speaker slapping himself out of a stupor. The chorus "Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Vamanos! Vamanos!" has nothing to do with guns. It got its start long ago when Tim, and I can't recall why, said, "Vamanos! Bang! Bang!" Add a bit of John Lee Hooker and there you go. The ripping harp solo is none other than Five Horse Johnson's Eric Oblander. ” -Fallon
Clutch is one of the greatest bands you never heard of. Their sound has shifted over the years to include everything from alt metal, punk, stoner metal, and blues. You've gotta check out more of them: Burning Beard, A Shogun Named Marcus, Careful With That Mic, Texan Book of the Dead, Ghoul Wrangler, In Walks Barbarella...you just can't go wrong with any song of theirs. Also, they're from Maryland, and have been active since the early 90s. They still regularly release incredible new material.
Spacegrass is a tough one to start with its so different than some of their other music. Power Player or Devil and Me from newer music and maybe El Jefe from older. Not worms.. I never liked that one!
OMG, you’ve found Clutch-as a Brit I have to say one of the most underrated bands to come out of the USA! First saw them at Download here in the UK a few years ago and became an instant fan. So many albums, so much great music. I understand they’ve been together since their school days?
Oh man, OH MAN! This is my favorite ban next to the doors. I can't tell you how many times I've seen them live. They are also a great example of a bands evolution of sound through the years. I wish I could come up with a list of songs from their first album to til now, but it will take me a day or two.
how about start with 2nd album "Clutch" followed by "Elephant Riders" then "Pure Rock Fury" then, well, you get my point, just go in order and listen to every song. lol. No matter what songs I would pick for a short list, I w/o a doubt would be mad at myself for leaving all the others off🤦♂️🤘🤘🤣
I'm the same........it's always a semi-shock when one of my favorite reactors does some Clutch. And if I was recommending songs, my list would have to *start* with a Top Twenty and then go from there, because there are so many excellent choices. Especially video-wise. I've always wanted someone to react to the video for Ghoul Wrangler -- that shit is funny, AND a kickass song.
@@RobertJohnson11c What you say is true, you make a good point. I was 14 yrs old in 95 the 1st time I heard Clutch. This band has flown under the radar for over 20 years. They just get better and better. Pick "Regulator" next. Great story, great music. I think both of you will enjoy it.
I bounced at a dive/punk metal bar in Wilmington NC for years (Reggie's 42nd st. represent!! Lol). Clutch was a very common and welcome jukebox play. Spacegrass is a real trip.
saw them for the 1st time w/ one of my favs CORROSION OF CONFORMITY i hadn t heard them before and was kinda upset that they were headlining over COC -until they played. they are one of those few bands who sound better live than recorded
Saw them together as well but COC headlined. 3rd band was Weedeater. Was a great show. COC was definitely best of the 3. But they were damn good too. Weedeater was interesting in a good way.
This is one of those bands that are very versatile and incorporate various styles; blues being very dominant. But definitely dive deeper. Check out the songs animal farm, a shogun named Marcus, escape from the prison planet, and army of bono.
Honestly. The most underrated band in the world. X-Ray Visions, The Mob Goes Wild, Subtle Hustle, A Quick Death in Texas. There’s tons, but they’re probably the most accessible and entry into Clutch you’ll find. Please do more
Elephant Riders. Any song off that album, start with the title track tho. You will not be disappointed if you continue to react to these cats. I'm seeing a plethora of requests, mostly different, which is proof of how great Clutch is as a band. I'm always impressed with how tight their chops are when playing together. 🤘🤘
Clutch are Harper’s Ferry boys iirc. Maryland. As far as where they play? They’ve played with Primus, Gogol Bordello, Lamb of God, GWAR, I think Alice Cooper even. They’re southern hard rock but are regularly on bills with metal bands, even playing metal festivals. Last I checked they play theaters when they’re out on their own. Pretty much since their 3rd album they’ve occupied the incredibly niche sub genre of time travelers from the 1890s who have formed a hard rock band for some reason. Check out “Drink to the Dead” or “The Face“.
This is probably my favorite song by Clutch, but I'll throw out some other good ones as well. 1. Regulator 2. Gone Cold 3. Ghoul Wrangler 4. A quick death in Texas
My favorite thing about Clutch is the way Neil Fallon Literally Attacks the Vocals. Puts an instant smile on my face! Thanks for dippin into the Clutch guys!

Met them in Glen Bernie in 95'. Seen them live a bunch of times. They were kind of the soundtrack for my life back then. Impetus, Speedway, Clutch (self titled), Blast Tyrant, Riders - all really fantastic albums.
Awesome live band. Been around since the 90's playing medium size venues. They were super heavy back in the day and have mellowed some and have gotten better over the years. Love the Jam Room, Elephant Riders and Blast Tyrant albums. More Clutch please.. Elephant Riders, Escape From the Prison Planet, Careful with the Mic, Release the Kraken and The Drifter are some of my favorites..
SO MANY good songs by Clutch. "Binge & Purge" is my all time favorite. Other greats are "I Have the Body of John Wilkes Booth", "Spacegrass", "Escape from the Prison Planet", "Eight Times Over Miss October", "The Elephant Riders"
Pute Rock Fury and Careful With The Mic were always my favourite songs by them The first time I saw them I bumped into Robbie "Angels" Williams at the show, top guy
These guys have such a unique personality with their music, and a LOT of that is because of their frontman and lyricist Neil Fallon. He's got the beard to back up the voice, and more stage presence than anyone I've had the privilege of seeing live. I definitely recommend checking more of their stuff out, you really can't go wrong no matter what song. These guys are the absolute definition of underrated. EDIT: The song ended so abrupt because it leads into another short song, One Eye Dollar!

Arguably the best rock band in extant, 30+ years of nothing but gold. Life would be less without Clutch. Can't even think of a weak song, can't even pick a favourite.
Burning Beard, Willie Nelson, The Soapmakers, Spacegrass, Mice And Gods, The Incomparable Mr Flannery, Binge and Purge, 50,000 Unstoppable Watts, Green Buckets, How To Shake Hands, Elephant Riders.....just a small list of the GREAT songs by Clutch that are worthy of checking out/reacting to. It's ALL worth listening to.
Welcome to Clutch! They have a tremendous catalog of great songs! The entire "Blast Tyrant" album is fantastic, but if I were to recommend a song to start that album, it would be "The Mob Goes Wild", which has a similar vibe to this song.
One of the best bands out there. You should definitely listen to some of their older stuff like Transnational Speedway League , PitchFork and Lost Needles, Elephant riders and of course Pure Rock Fury. To this day I'm still amazed that such a small guy (Neil Fallon) can have such a voice.
If you get the chance, ABSOLUTELY GO SEE THEM PLAY LIVE. They are absolutely awesome live, one of the few bands that sounds even better live than recorded. So full of energy even when they're just jamming. One time I saw them pretty much open up for themselves under a different name. It was just the band without the lead singer and they jammed out for an hour and it was excellent.
One of my favorite bands! Clutch has so many good songs and is sooooo good live! These guys are criminally underrated! Too many songs I like by them to list. Pure Rock Fury, Spacegrass, Regulator, Crucial Velocity are a few of my personal favorites that come to my head right now. You all need to do more of these guys, they are so good!

So glad you reacted to Clutch , one of my favourite bands, seen them in the Uk 3times and they sound great live. Clutch do not get reacted to that much which is a shame. The Regulator is an ace track as is A Quick Death in Texas. They have a large number of excellent and different sounding songs.

Go down the rabbit hole of Clutch...just about every song is phenomenal. Spacegrass, What would a Wookie Do?, Bottoms up Socrates, Mob Goes Wild, Regulator, The Soapmakers, Psychic Warfare, Son of Virginia, Burning Beard, Earth Rocker etc...I've seen them about 4 or 5 times and every single time it's an amazing show.
Listen to more Clutch. This was a fairly good gateway song. They are an epic band that dabbles in various genres. Definitely one to continue with. Anything from the album Pure Rock Fury is worthwhile for sure. I say Red Horse Rainbow next!!
One of the most under rated under played bands ever.
I saw these guys live a few years ago. I was only barely aware they even existed.
I walked away a fan.
fucking agreed. clutch is a badass band (from Germantown Maryland) who has been around for quite a long time (since '91)

Clutch's 2004 album 'Blast Tyrant' is one of the greatest rock albums of all time, in my opinion. Great band!

Red Horse Rainbow FTW!
That ending actually bleeds into the next song on the album
Thank yall for giving some love to CLUTCH!

Clutch is the band from Maryland
Love y'all ...never heard this one... amazing 🤘
A Quick Death in Texas is probably my all time favourite by them. It's like a full Western film in 5 mins.
I plan on seeing these guys in cbus, ohio in may for my fifth time. Hoping to take my daughters and convert them. Been my favorite band for years.
No less of a luminary than Alice Cooper described their sound as 'Hillbilly Metal'
Electric worry plays into One eyed dollar on the album
Hard rock blues like ZZ Top cool. Could be anywhere in the south: Southwest, southeast. Yes, definitely rodeo or dive bars . Era? Probably modern day.
OMG! Can't believe you listened to a Clutch song...I love your channel. Clutch is an incredible and fun rock band.
The immortal CLUTCH!!! Glad to see this one. Big library to choose from if you like them. Mainstream they ain’t.
Probably already been said, but JP is playing a shuffle on the snare.
