1:12:36 re: firelink shrine in the dreg heap in DS3 Because I've been on a lore kick recently: Turns out you are actually in firelink shrine, you're just not really "in" Lordran. See the whole plot throughout all of Dark Souls 3 (not just the Ringed City DLC) is that all the different lands are converging in one place (as if they're being sucked together), which is why Anor Londo is a casual stroll down the road from Lothric instead of being in a whole other land. Then by the time (chronological time) we get to the Dreg Heap, things are even more sucked together, which is why all the buildings are toppling over and we see buildings from different eras all clashed together. This is why the Earthen Peak from DS2 is there. So when you drop into the Demon Princes arena then, yes, you are literally standing in the original firelink shrine. It's not a copy of it or anything, it is the actual location from Dark Souls 1 - only its been smushed into a bunch of other stuff, which is why there's no other recognisable surrounding terrain. I've heard some people suggest the giant tree that you drop into to get to it is meant to be the Great Hollow, but idk if there's any actual evidence of that besides it being... well... a big hollowed out tree.
@@michaelgregory3452 It's something I've pieced together from a lot of different sources and different people's take on the lore that I've watched over time. I'm pretty sure it's pretty close to accurate though, there's a lot of stuff that supports it.

The Overwatch conversation was interesting. People are saying required roles killed the game, but in reality they felt they had to implement it to save the game because of the oppressive power of the 3 tanks/3 supports comp (GOATS is an easy way to search it up), which was murdering their viewership and the game in general. High-level play was devolving to these comps being used a high majority of the time, and what happens in high-level gameplay will always leak down into lower-level play. Needless to say, they needed to address the problem. Whether it was mandatory or not for them to implement a role queue to force DPS characters to be used as a solution is a different topic entirely, but I have no doubt that the decision came with great reluctance. It doesn't feel good to implement such drastic changes to your game, let alone stifling creativity and freedom in a game for any reason. But either way, cool mod and I hope you are enjoying it Lobos.
