With out giving away my age, as a child I rode “If you had Wings” and right up to closing. The closing of Mr. Toad and If you had wings was about all I could handle! I loved If you had Wings!!!!
“If You Had Wings” was a simple and fun ride that was sponsored at first by Eastern Airlines, then Delta Airlines, and we always looked forward to riding it.
"Let Eastern be your wings!" I loved the music at the end of that ride!

If I recall correctly, "If You Had Wings" was where you went in omnimovers and passed by different destinations that were serviced by Eastern Airlines. The scenes were sort of like what you see in the Mexico pavilion ride, where movies showed the various cities and people in them.
I’ve always said that ride reminds me of If you had wings.
Yes @Lady Shel I agree! I vividly rememeber the scene when I was a child and they're trying to sell you a hat and thought it was cool how they'd throw it and it would show up on the next screen ahead! I swear they recycled a lot from that ride now shown in the Mexican pavilion ride
My favorite Disney memories are of that ride. Thank you for reminding me of the hat scene!!!! I loved that ride so much it might just be what started my love for Disney. :)
Being from Canada - I once went to Animal Kingdom on Presidents" Day!!! I had no idea that it was a national holiday....wow talk about crowds. Nate I give you credit for soldiering through the crowds - just to make us happy....and you did just that!! You're the best.

I loved "If You Had Wings", and the song was catchy. Eastern Airlines was the sponsor, and the official airline of WDW.
If you had wings was a wonderful attraction. It was fun, relaxing, joyful and the song was stuck in my head for days afterwards. It was really some thing special. I was so sad to see it go. You can watch it if you look for a TH-cam video they do have it. Anyway sorry you missed it

OMG! Thanks for reminding me of "If You Had Wings" which turned into "Dreamflight" - it was one of my favourite rides as a child in Tomorrowland... I think it inspired me to travel the world! It had that old school Disney World feel to it - probably how you appreciate Carousel of Progress?

I remember “If You Had Wings” because my grandpa worked for Eastern Airlines who sponsored the ride. I also remember the song from when it changed to Delta Dream Flight. They were definitely the same ride track as Buzz. Love your videos, Nate! Thank you!
Hi nate, as a kid I did ride if you had wings. If I remember correctly it was sponsored by Eastern airlines. It was a slow moving vehicle that showed you parts of the world of travel. As I said I was very young but I do remember that ride.
I loved it! I was Eastern. Every time I see flamingos, I think about the scene where the police officer was letting them cross. Lol.

I am 67, so yes, I rode If You Had Wings. It was such a fun ride! Also, I am shocked at the line for the People Mover. I have never waited a minute for it. This makes me nervous for my Dec. trip. Thanks, Nate, for the video!

I went on If You Had Wings back in 1987 when I first moved to Florida with my now ex husband. Always went to Disneyland since I grew up in San Diego. I really loved living near Disneyworld and Epcot was an amazing experience I will never forget.
That final shot with Space ship Earth was amazing! Spencer captured the same shot in their video. Just beautiful! 🙋♀️
If You Had Wings! Those were the days! I would buy those wings just for the name. The song was awesome- If you had wings, if you had wings, if you had wings, had wings, had wings!
When you said If You Had Wings I immediately began singing the song. Rode it when we were there in 1985. I remember we got stuck for about 15 minutes while one part of the song played over and over. Probably why it's still stuck in my head!

Yes, I rode "If You Had Wings" many, many times in the 1970s and early 1980s too. Nice, relaxing ride you could almost always just walk-on since it never stopped moving. The song from it sticks in your head just like "It's A Small World"....!! They even had a real ticket agent behind a desk at the end of the ride for booking flights on Eastern Airlines. The attraction may be gone now, but not forgotten at all by all those who visited WDW in the early years!

Loved “If You Had Wings” attraction! The scenes in the ride remind very much of the Grand Fiesta ride in Mexico (videos of restaurant/water scenes). The screen at the end of Space Ranger spin was in IYHW, but had a few different scenes (sky/field). It was much better than Delta Dream Flight too. Thank you again for you great vlogs. My son and I love watching them together😊
Test Track at night is one of my very favorite things to do at Disney, well worth squeezing it in 👍

Oh I am so happy you can go up on the train station always the perfect spot. I have so much video over the year of watching fireworks and parades from the train station. They used to have seats and tables up there.

If you had wings was a great ride. Remembering it reminds me of The Grand Fiesta Tour. I loved the part at the end where you went straight ahead in a big room and you were surrounded by scenery and it felt like we were going so fast, but when you looked over and down at the track, you could see how slow it really was going. 😄

Nate, you would have liked "If you had Wings" and Delta's "Dream flight". Back in the ticket days, that was a free ride. So I was on it MANY times. The If you had Wings theme song is playing in my head. I really miss those days - when you could get unlimited rides on all those "free" rides.

Eastern Airlines, the wings of man. Yes, long ago, and that darn song still rings in my head too. Only free ride in 1972, so of course my mom wanted to ride it over and over.

Hi Nate! I started smiling when you said you ordered the “if you had wings” lol it was a big memory as a kid going on that ride by eastern airlines. Because when we would fly anywhere too it was always Eastern airplanes and the ride would remind me of flying on those planes. It was also one of those rides that you could just relax and cool off for a bit. The song is still stuck in my head to this day!!!
