      Believe me, I understand. Every time I go to the Baxter Cycle I fall in love with a new Royal Enfield. Wahoo!

    Love the burble of the engine as you were going into the building at the end of the video. Good for the soul!

    Another great video, Fuzzy! You do right by Royal Enfield. It is hard to beat the features / price point and 3 yr warranty, as they are really standing by their bikes. I had the Meteor before the Classic 350 came out and loved it! That heel-toe shifter (standard on the Meteor) was wonderful, and the touring seat, as shown on your video here, was an incredible upgrade. However, when the Classic 350 arrived, I had to check it out. The character and different riding position (more upright) won me over. You can't go wrong with either one of them.

      I enjoy riding both the meteor and the classic. We did outfit a meteor with dirt tires and ran it on quite a bit of gravel. It did work well. However, I personally like the looks of the classic over the meteor. Both are good bikes. You'd have a little more perspective into this having on both :-)

    Cheers for this overview Fuzzy.
    Been contemplating going back to my 1960s roots when I began on a BSA single pot thumper.
    I currently run a Vulcan VN900 so a bit of foot forward cruising is right up my ally.
    I no longer ride fast so 60mph suits me fine.
    Great value for an easy to maintain plodder .
    Love it mate .
    Have to get me a test ride and perhaps chop the Vulcan in for a new Enfield single potter .
    Thanks Fuzzy👌

    I went to the dealer to buy a low mileage used Honda Rebel 300. But, when I test rode the Meteor 350, buying the Meteor instead of the Rebel was a no brainer. These are truly special bikes.

      I really like the 350 line. Royal enfield's really got to hit here.

    I have owned a meteor for just over a year. I mainly use the bike for short trips and my commute to work, which it is perfect for. The bike has a top speed of about 75mph but is much happier between 50 and 65. I have had only two problems with the bike. The drive chain is a bit cheap and cheerful, and I have had to get a better one fitted after it developed some dead links. There is a known problem with the engine light coming on on cold (around freezing) days or if you leave the bike ticking over for 5-10 minutes (why would you do that?) . I had it come on on a cold day. There is a fix for this, which will be happening when I get the bike serviced. Other than that the bike is a fun little run around that you can go distance on jus not fast.

      They are great little motorcycles that seem willing to do anything...but go fast :)

    should try it with a harley dyna muffler on it. they used to use those on the suzuki savage 650 thumpers for better sound.

    Royal Enfield rebadged their bikes, Meteors and Super Meteors, as Indians in the '50s and 60s for the American market. Didn't work!! This one definitely will!

    • @forgottenmotorcycles
      @forgottenmotorcycles  ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting!

    • @ruahinesrider
      @ruahinesrider ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes R.E bikes rebadged as Indian's & some were just a R.E engine in a Indian frame with names like Apache
      Tomahawk, Big Chief, Trail blazer.
      R.E parallel twins made the most tourqe out of the brit bikes so the American market preferred them as Americans love tourqe.

    There is a heel&toe shifter available for the Classic direct from India.
    There is a small trick required to fit it. Check out "Ride with Worro". Ozzie guy dose a good video on the swap.

    I have the same bike, in that sexy Matte Black Stellar 👍
    Just ordered those bar mirrors and next will be that seat…
    Awesome bike, cheers from Australia 🍺
    I noticed you haven’t got the trip gauge…. What year is yours?

    • @forgottenmotorcycles
      @forgottenmotorcycles  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello from Iowa, USA. Sounds like you've got a beautiful motorcycle. This bike is a 23, I think. The earlier Meteors had the trip gauge, they seemed to have stopped adding them to these newer ones. Not sure why. Absolutely love the RE 350. Wahoo!

    • @chilligoz
      @chilligoz ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@forgottenmotorcycles yeah I’ve seen a few reviews on that tripper gauge, doesn’t work the best but I’ve had no issues with it…. That’s probably why👍

    • @DarkElfDiva

      @@forgottenmotorcycles They stopped adding the tripper gauge due to a chip shortage. Mine has it, and I can tell you, you don't need it. You need to pair it with your phone anyway, and GPS eats a lot of battery so you'd want to have it plugged in for all but the shortest trips, so why not just use a phone holder? Also the tripper gives very little info. Just, "Turn left in 250 feet. Next turn will be right. 5 miles left to go" It doesn't tell you the name of the street you'll be turning on, how far the next turn is, anything like that. It's super basic.
