80s rappers are better than today's rappers. Boogie Down Productions, Public Enemy, LL Cool J, NWA, Run DMC, Eric B & Rakim, EPMD, etc. I'd rather listen to them than today's mumble rap.
Back when he was known as Soul Train Jones, he seemed to have a lot of potential working the indies here in Pennsylvania. I actually had no idea that he worked as STJ elsewhere but, then again, that was before the internet so it wasn't easy to know the complete history of wrestlers. Once WWF got their hooks in him, and had him portray a glorified slave, his career was doomed from that point on. Even WCW showed him no respect at all. Particularly in WCW, you could see, in his eyes and in his actions, that he essentially just gave up and really didn't give a shit.
In 2014,I saw Virgil at outside at impact Wrestling event in New York and we talked about his times in WWF,WCW and undertaker.i ask him,can he sign my WWE encyclopedia and he say yes and he sign it,I ask him how much is for the autograph and he say is free
Yeah, I think a lot of this is just due to dipshits on the internet making fun of some guy for not being top talent. Notice nobody seems to ever interview him and ask him for comments, they just keep up the attacks and bullshit. And there's an undercurrent of racism, too.
I met Virgil once at Megacon Orlando eleven or twelve years ago. I mentioned when I saw him in WWF and WCW; more on when he was with NWO, got beat up by Big John Studd at a Royal Rumble, and managed Ted Dibiase. I said I wanted an autograph but didn't have the money for it. Honestly, he actually gave me an autograph for free. He autographed my Fullmetal Alchemist poster but at the time, I thought that was nice of him.
A Vincent video would just be a 10 minute video of run-ins and sneaking his way to the front of the 20 NWO guys in the ring to be in the forefront facing the hard camera.
I one time made the unforunate mistake of walking near Virgils booth at Comic Con. He showed me a book and I barely glanced at it, when he said "50 Bucks". I walked away haha
In fairness to Virgil, he stuck around the big show WWE and WCW from 87 to 2000. That in itself is accomplishment. Not even the big names are able to stick around the top business for that long.
I saw Soul Train Jones on a small show outside of Boston, probably 1987, and about a month later he appeared in the Boston Garden as Virgil with the Million Dollar Man, as a teen he was the first guy I saw actually moving up in wrestling, as most Indy shows in the area featured guys at the end of their careers. I actually got him to sign my poster, and didn’t pay him a dime, he was a lot nicer as Soul Train, still hopeful I guess.
It makes you feel bad for the guy, I kinda want to start my own wrestling company and employ the man. Like Macho said you only see the real money when you are the top guy.
He's a pretty regular guest at International Wrestling Cartel. I can't say that I'm a huge fan of his in-ring work, but I respect that there aren't a huge number of ways for an older wrestler to keep making money after their big spot ends. If you haven't lucked into big money and managed it properly, you're pretty much down to peddling your former image.
I ran into Virgil when going to Wrestlemania 34. I saw him walking by and yelled, "Hey, Virgil, you're awesome!" He looked at me, nodded and kept walking. He was by himself and in the crowd with regular attendees.
Virgil is loved by the casual fan its only insider fans & geeks or vloggers & website publishers that break him down. Im glad he's caught on to the "joke" and is running with it. Shout Out to Virgil yo! 💯
I mean gotta give him some props for the fact that even after 30+ years he's still finding ways to be relevant, good or bad fans still talk about him. So he's doing something right
lol. You do realize you were a kid and probably didn't realize he couldn't wrestle. He couldn't sell. And he couldn't cut promos right? What the hell could they do with that? He only lasted as long as he did because he played a lackey and didn't have to wrestle a lot and only got beat up.
Virgil (5 star rating) Athleticism ⭐⭐ Body ⭐ Charisma ⭐⭐ Moveset ⭐ Promos ⭐ Psychology ⭐ Technical ⭐ I still don't understand how this guy had such a long and fruitful career but to be fair he definitely had his moments in the ring particularly his early run with DiBiase.

Great vid and nice cameo by RD. Before W3, I was all about WrestleCrap.

The table is now truly empty...
Good God, that Scott Hall thing was great.
Brian's face exploding after watching Virgil get lynched is the funniest gag I've seen on here in a dog's age 😂😂😭
Virgil for wwe hall of fame. The guy survived the 80s and still hustling like it’s the early 1800’s
At part 1:12...Virgil spelled Dibiase wrong. I feel like that just adds to his character in some way...
I saw that and smacked my head
Maybe Ted DiBaise was the actual guy with him and hoped people misread it as DiBiase.
I got to tell you, around '92, Virgil got a lot of love from the crowds.
Should be a 3 part series. Next do Vincent, then do Lonely Virgil.
No thanks we got enough Virgil
A Vincent video would just be a 10 minute video of run-ins and sneaking his way to the front of the 20 NWO guys in the ring to be in the forefront facing the hard camera.
@@aztecwrrior1997you can never have enough Virgil
Rest in peace virgil, keep the hustle going in the afterlife my brother
You put so much effort into your content man. I really respect that effort. You deserve at least 1,000,000 subscribers.
no he doesnt
Well, this is certainly a time to pop up in my recommended.
It's a missed opportunity Virgil never used "Mike Jones, who?" On a loop as his entrance music
Back then, they didn't want me, now I'm hot, they all on me
Mike Jones the rapper came out after virgils career was done so that's not possible but still would've been cool
Or the theme to Startropics on NES.
Here after the news.
R.I.P Virgil
Does anyone remember how Virgil used to bring Scott Hall cocktail drinks to the ring during the "Drunk" angle ??? 😄 😄 😄
A lot of fans shit on that, but I thought it was hilarious.
Hall was a good tipper
Think he tipped him $10?
Hall is a piece of shit
The quotes should be around the Angle part.
Did he charge the lord for his appearance at the pearly gates
He's a pretty regular guest at International Wrestling Cartel. I can't say that I'm a huge fan of his in-ring work, but I respect that there aren't a huge number of ways for an older wrestler to keep making money after their big spot ends. If you haven't lucked into big money and managed it properly, you're pretty much down to peddling your former image.
Well, I bought his Hasbro figure. Man he always lost in my matches. That's bad when a toy is a jobber.
Lmao I had the figure too
Why is that bad? He has an ACTION FIGURE and gets paid for it.
Nah you booked him perfectly as enhancement talent.
I totally just realized Virgil spelled Dibiase's name wrong on the table lmaoooo
In my entire life Virgil is the only wrestler I've randomly seen out. Not at an event but just randomly signing autographs at a mall.
How in the hell did Virgil get a WWE championship title shot against Bret Hart in 1992?!!
😂😂😂 that's proof Bret was tryna give EVERYONE some shine
😂😂😂 that's proof Bret was tryna give EVERYONE some shine
Lenard Williams cuz Vince only had to pay him $10
Because he was over.
Bret was facing everyone
Virgil was actually over at the start, but a huge part of that was Dibiase being such a good heal.
He needs more power!
Oh wait that’s Vergil.
This one just needs more tenners
Now, he's motivated for that fuck money!
I admit that I legitimately liked Virgil when he turned on Dibiase...I was very young
So he's doing something right
I feel Virgil deserves a nice interview. Where is not heckled by the questions or mocked by the host
As always, great video Brian. It is somewhat sad to see him...
Wait a minute, why is Virgil knocking at my door telling me I owe him?
Everyone always asks “where is Virgil?” but never “how is Virgil?”
Or"why is Virgil?"
Or what is Virgil?
@@poopsykoBatista’s response 😂
I was a big Virgil fan as a kid. I wish they would have done more with him
lol. You do realize you were a kid and probably didn't realize he couldn't wrestle. He couldn't sell. And he couldn't cut promos right? What the hell could they do with that? He only lasted as long as he did because he played a lackey and didn't have to wrestle a lot and only got beat up.
Said no one ever
I think misspelling DiBiase on his table skirt tells you just how much of a pro he is.
After binging through entire season 8 and latest reviews Brian uploads another video!

I still don't understand how this guy had such a long and fruitful career but to be fair he definitely had his moments in the ring particularly his early run with DiBiase.
If only you coulda got Virgil for the intro and called it a tax write off as it's for work.
How ironic, Ted Dibiase is more sleezy than Virgil now lol
Him and his sons
Truly living the gimmick there.
Great Khali lasted 8 years in WWE so there you go.
If I went to an event and saw Virgil there alone, I would talk to him about so much wrestling, I’m sure it would draw a huge crowd!
"Perhaps no one in wrestling is more meme-y than Virgil"
The Iron Shiek and Scott Steiner would like a word with you...
At least he didn't become a male escort like Buff Bagwell. . .
I know about someone who can be more meme'd in wrestling....
AND HIS NAME IS JOHN CENA!!!!!
*doo doo do dooooooo*
Virgil was the bartender at my friend Molly’s graduation party in 2004. It was amazing
That’s awesome 😂
