My favourite part of the vlog was when you were picking through the boxes of cards for like 100 -300 yen I loved that, and I would watch another vlog even if you went to all the same places, much love buddy
When you asked about different stuff we'd like to see in the vlogs for next time, personally I really enjoyed the ones I've watched/listened to so far. But to give you some real "wish list" thingy I think it would be cool to see more rural card shops or places that are in really small towns. I'm not even sure how you'd find more obscure places like that or if they're even worth visiting but the culture surrounding pokemon in small towns in Japan is something I've always wondered about. Like in my town of 600 people I grew up in we had one game store and it was so different in comparison to shops I go to now. I still remember walking down the steps as a 8 or 9 year old and opening the door to see this grungy basement that smelled like a paper factory. It was so cool. So yeah, I just always thought there must be stores like that in Japan and I wonder what those stores are like. But honestly dude I feel like you're worrying about making stuff perfect when it's already good. Personally I don't enjoy super high production videos with fancy camera transitions and all that. I like your stuff because it's more grounded and chill. But when I'm watching your videos I'm always sorting cards or listing and I just like picking up little pieces of advice for my own business, so I'm a different audience than someone watching for pure entertainment. I think your content style and everything is great as it is.
i agree with you, i'd love to see more rural card shop videos too, and in places not in osaka/tokyo.. but the problem is cost of travel to those niche places and sometimes if you spend thousands to travel to japan and stay in hotels ect, and to go to random citys just to find out there is maybe one or two shops (and they dont allow filming) it can be a huge letdown. This trip was based around me buying cards, not really filming card stores.. even though i did do a lot of it, but it is a good thought to have
Just found your channel this week with the Japan vlogs. Love the content, love the way you talk and hold yourself. I will def keep watching you're videos, like the card sorting stuff too and the stories you tell. Keep em coming and btw I would've never noticed the lazy eye mate 😊
Hey Steve, feedback: what I love seeing in these videos is the volume of cards you look through while pointing out popular, novel, rare ones etc. I actually window shop here for cards I find interesting but haven't seen in person before; having the light hit some of the holos (like the Japanese Dark Dragonite from TRR) is something you don't see on an Ebay listing. Great way to find and see new cards, which I then buy from you haha.
its not something i do intentionally, but its good to see people enjoy the type of videoing i do even though im a noob youtuber lol, i appreciate all the support. Those dark dragonites from trr are so awesome.
I did mention live streaming sorting videos would be good. You could even do live selling on one of those platforms and o feel thag would go well for you to get through the played cards and save time on listing. I am not a fan of a lot of people on those platforms but i feel it would be really good for your business to get through the lower value impulse buy cards
Great video as usual. I don't really have anything negative to say about your vlogs. They've all been great. I've never been to Japan, though I hope to in the next couple of years, so seeing the stores and everything was great. If/when you go back, would definitely like to see more and would definitely watch from beginning to end. These types of videos are great as well. I mean, tbh, the videos you upload are all great and I'm not just blowing smoke. You give a lot of good information in your videos and you're genuine. Also, I didn't know you had a lazy eye until you just pointed it out...and I've watched every single one of your videos.
yes I find this very helpful. I like sorting cards and going through my own inventory and personal collections while watching vids like this. Thanks! And my name is Steven to here in the states!
Really enjoyed the vlogs bro! Watched all your vlogs and what I enjoyed was the footage of you in front of the cashier, interacting and dealing with the employee. It was quite an interesting process and I think that was the most awkward experience for you too while filming and talking to yourself haha. I also enjoy collecting LP cards for the value and I like your features of "card" card shops. Would be great if you highlight more of the shops that you visited that are reasonable and has a wide selection for us binder non psa collectors next time! Also would be great if you showcase the cards you got at the shops in Japan at the end of the vlog! Anyways, love your content and your long form videos, have a good one!
For sure, remember theres 4 or so more videos to come, so plenty, lots of the smaller/non popular shops did not allow filming, and the more popular ones with higher end items that are known as big stores are happy with the popularity, thats probably why you dont see the smaller shops as much. On the first day i planned on showing hte cards, but i was buying almost 300-400 cards per day, and after a day of walking ~~12 hours around japan the last thing i wanna do is more filming, so thats why i structured it this way. I have a whole video with everything i bought in japan coming after the vlogs are finished. If i do it again, i'll definitely do it that way.
I think all the condition check in videos are good, your videos help us learn when it comes to buying and selling, I'm quite new to buying and selling and any information help, very much appreciated your work buddy
G'day Steve, I'm up to vlog day 6 so far and I have your videos on in the background while I list stuff on my own ebay store :) It's nice having your voice imparting little nuggets of wisdom on in the background. Personally, I like your videos how they are, music isn't necessary and for me I actually like them without! I'd watch whatever you put out, so if you set up a camera to film a condition check, I'll happily put it on. Thanks for doing what you're doing
So weird that ive bought from your store a number of times and had no idea you did youtube etc until you popped up in some jluv stuff. Vlogs were sick, always a big fan of long form content looking at cards and enjoyed you chatting alongside it and checking condition etc 👌🏼 glad to hear youre feeling better, getting stuck in a shit mindset is rough no matter your circumstances
I totally get the 'natural' part you were talking about. I'm far more likely to subscribe and like a video if they aren't telling me to do so all the time! Really enjoying your content and the Japan vlogs particularly.
I had no idea you had a lazy eye. I feel that a lot of people are definitely self-concious and may be more critical on themselves than they should be (definitely me). I love your videos and you definitely inspire me to try and get out of my comfort-zone and try to make some videos myself. I know this was 9 months ago and you've definitely gotten more comfortable, but no matter what, even if you do get some toxic people, please don't let it get to you and please make more videos (:
also, I loved the vlogs I think my favorite thing about them is the nice and cozy feeling of just seeing what you're seeing with the additional fun facts or just commentary all throughout the videos. being activetly entertained with something at all points
Love donuts. Can eat a dozen by myself...but sticking to my diet so maybe in 4 or 6 weeks I'll do that. Would def like some condition check videos. Def need to learn more of that myself.
Yes we want you to goto japan again As soon as you want to lol. More yugioh cards and more vanguard cards. There was one video of your vlog where you went right passed the vanguard case 3 times and every time turned your back to it. kept trolling me thinking i was gonna see it lol. but ill watch every video you post of card shops in japan multiple times. (this was in response to 1 hour 6 mins into this video)
@@PokemonSteven completely understand I figured u didn’t know/care much for vanguard it’s pretty niche. Just found it funny you kept turning away from the vanguard display case at the last second. But totally understandable those card shops look packed with people and some of them so little room between the isles of the store to maneuver around. Thanks for the videos! Looking forward to the complete vlog video where u combined all the days into 1 video. Love watching these card shop vlogs while I also work on sorting/shipping cards.
Thanks for the video Steven!! I'm certain it was not only uploaded in 30fps but this video looks like it was recorded in 24/30, Seems like your camera was lying 😝
It was recorded in 25 yeah :(, i just didnt adjust my settings after updating a bunch of stuff. But latest videos for youtube card long videos will be 1440 or 4k atleast (pending on file size) lmao
Don't be too hard on yourself. I found your channel via jluv. I liked the Japan vlogs, but maybe cut the shops that we didn't really get much to see of. You can probably make a video on the shops you enjoyed most or a travel tips video related to card shopping.
for sure, honestly i tried to film 25+ stores in one day sometimes but only 4-5 would let you, so it was bit of a letdown, but i still tried to keep the flow of the day going
Been a fan of Pokémon and casual player since it came out I would be willing to work how can I apply seriously I would keep track of the post list ok brother peace
I love watching your videos anyway but if you wanted to make a video more for TH-cam you could give yourself a challenge like 48hrs to complete Japanese base set. Just an idea buddy
You are the ONLY TH-camr that be EVER watched over an hour long video for and it’s been consistent lmao glad Japan was good brother. One of the greatest countries out there.
@PokemonSteven I think you could be a very good youtuber Steve. I think you should keep pushing the boundaries and the scope of you videos. Don't compare yourself to everyone else. You have a good personality that l believe will enable it
My favourite part of the vlog was when you were picking through the boxes of cards for like 100 -300 yen I loved that, and I would watch another vlog even if you went to all the same places, much love buddy

What stores if you can remember were the best to find VS, e series and Web 😊
honestly cant remember i went to 100s of stores, but i guess wait until all the vlogs are out then you can make a decision for yourself

Time to grab some stacks and sort along with Steve, need a donut though

Can you do a video showing how you use a scanner to photo the cards please
i have one for graded cards
is it the same process as raw cards?@@PokemonSteven
Fun hanging with you!
glad you enjoyed it.
Great and chill video. Was a great to fall asleep to. Maybe some light music would be nice? 👍🏻
i think the general consensus is no music, i guess people have no love for the lofi background music lol

your uploads keeps me going through tough times steve

thank you pan fried u are a beast
how do you take pictures of your cards efficiently? keep up the awesome videos!
For singles I use a scanner
I want condition check videos. To be honest any content from you is great
Ty King 🤴 I'll do some
Can you do a video when you show all pokemon related stuff you bought in japan?
i have one recorded it will be up after the vlogs finish
Those are some dang tasty looking donuts Steve. Are these all of the cards you got from your trip? Been enjoying the vlogs!
Nah man, most of this is backstock stuff just needed to be dealt with. My japan trip recap is recorded and will be up after last vlog :-)

Greatest flex, was when Steven had to reposition his whole line of sight, cuz his stacks too high. 🔥🔥
