I forgot to mention in the video, but this was all filmed at the end of December. We aren't out hiking around during right now, don't worry. Subscribe for more of our faces and stuff. goo.gl/mkAwyy More from Hawaii here: th-cam.com/video/0u_4CZO_M58/w-d-xo.html
The Hawaiian Island are sooooo overlooked and under-rated as travel destinations. Like, on Oahu once you leave the Waikiki beachfront it's astonishing how much there is to explore, how much culture and history is actually there to learn about. Beautiful.
The views and scenery in this video are so picturesque like out of a movie. I really enjoyed your adventures in this video a lot. I'm also encouraged to visit this island of Hawaii and get into an adventure of my own.
Glad you had fun here, the trees on trail are called walking trees. They move slowly as they grow legs/roots. They big tree that drops roots from canopy is a banyan tree. Keep up videos. See you in Japan.
Kyde, I love the t-shirt! The hike looks like it was a lot of fun, I love the woods so I'd be all about that. Of course I'd need the double hiking sticks that look like ski poles so i wouldnt die, but it'd be worth it. Thanks for sharing, this was a lot of fun and that ham sammich looks pretty great.
Hey I’m from Virginia, small world. Glad you guys are having so much fun on Kauai. I used to live there and plan on moving back in the next couple years hopefully.Anini beach is a nice calm place to snorkel and swim.looking forward to more of your adventures.
That is definitely true about the chicken game on the island. The same with the feral cats. When the hurricane Iniki hit all the chickens and cats headed into the jungle and populated. This is my second time watching the Kauai portion of the series. Man I miss that place.
lots of beaches are changed drastically to become 'fun': they dredge the area, making it smooth on the sea bottom, lessening the wave action. Tourists want 'pretty' beaches. They take away the coral, seaweed beds which also (unfortunately) makes the fish move away, but this makes the water clearer. Tourists don't normally don't like seaweed/coral-filled waters (even though this is probably a sign that the area is healthy). on the island of O'ahu as you might know, the famed Waikiki beach is almost entirely man-made... Much of the area was actually more like a swamp... the sand is brought in from time to time to fight erosion... out on O'ahu's North Shore, the wave action is much more fierce, which is not 'fun' to swim in, but of course, the surfers love it... To be really fun/safe for swimming you need to go to a lagoon or a side of the island that doesn't have big waves... on O'ahu, that would be Lanikai or the Ala Moana Beach/Magic Island area. All of these places have little to no waves naturally or have wave 'breakers' out past the protective reef zone...
It’s a 20 when the waves aren’t so crazy! Lol. There’s a cave on that beach (Hanakapi’ai) you could go into. It gets better further in the full trail, since there’re much less people.
We don't spend money on other things so we can afford to travel. Since our TH-cam channel has a small following we also finance trips through the different avenues it supplies, but it's basically a full time job to keep the channel moving so it's not like it's "easy money." -E
Looks at a bunch of scattered rocks "Oh wow this is a great road" Shows smooth dirt road cleared nice and evenly on both sides no debris "Its much better than that other road we had to drive on"
Oh, this is so beautiful! This gave me such LOST nostalgia. 15:15 I was having a Kyde moment as well. Are those the things where Kate & I forget who else were hiding from... something or other? I can't remember the ep or what exactly was happening. That's going to bug me now.
Hi. I knew this was filmed before the pandemic stuff, but I couldn't help thinking, Why is Kyde standing so close to people and nobody is wearing a mask? Just shows how conditioned I've become. Really enjoyable episode and great scenery; I guess Hawaii can be thanked for that; not the video but the way the place looks. I hope you're both well and safe in that there Japanipeopleslandplace.
I "lost" my phone in BKK the day before I went to Myanmar. When I got back to BKK a week later, my friend at a bar said she had it >.< I have no photos of me in Myanmar but I still have the memories :)
when my mother was a little girl my grandparents took her to the beach in LA. She was told to stay out of the water because there was "undertow" that would take her out into deeper water and she would drown. When she heard that word she thought "under-toad" So for quite a while after that she thought a big toad was in the water waiting to get her
The chicken story is BS. The hens and rosters are there due to a smaller or no population of mongoose that keep the chicken population in check on the other islands. I live on O'ahu, not just giving you a cute story. The Hike looked fun!
Well, what was explained was that the reason the population is so out of control is no mongeese, but that before the storm in 92 there weren't nearly as many running free.
Years back Mink were farmed here, in the UK, for their fur. For various reasons a number of Mink managed to get loose in the wild. We now have Mink breeding & living wild in the UK. They are larger than our native Weasels and Ferrets, more like the size of our native Polecats.

Yea, this is so true. -E
Easily give this video a 10 out of 10. Also that was the most robust ham sandwich I've seen Kyde make on your channel!
Haha, yea it was some real off-the-hog ham hahaha
Beautiful place for a hike! Thanks for sharing
Thank you for creating this video. It was very enjoyable and the interaction between the two of you is refreshing.
Wow, absolutely stunning scenery! I love the Kauai Humane Society t-shirt🐶😻
Thank you for the adventures then and now, be safe...
Brilliant video and very much enjoyed the scenic vistas......and the tea looks great.
Tree with exposed roots on trail was Hala or other wise known as the "ding ding tree", tree on big island was a banyan.
Oh my! I had to pause the video when you showed that lovely looking ham sammich and make one for myself. Great video as always.
I bet you guys miss being able to travel during this pandemic. Hopefully it all gets back to normal soon. I always love your vids
Videos like yours are a blessing during lock down. Thank you.
Glad to be a little escape! -E
Looks like a beautiful place and a fun trail to hike!
Love this Hawaii series! 😁

Great vid! You two are fantastic!
Looks like it was a great day. Certainly is an island we want to visit sometime. Thanks for sharing the day with us.
That was some serious ham too!

I always love your hiking adventures, Kydes imagination is so priceless, I literally saw the dinosaurs 😍 and SANDWICHES !

btw it's 8 miles from trail head to the falls and back and they limited it because people like lived in the valley
Great video thanks
Lovely
Never turn your back on the ocean! That’s what I was told when I moved to Kaua’i.

OMG stunning scenery. A lot better than Kansas and nearly as beautiful as Scotland :-).
unless you are looking for giant balls of twine.
Kyde’s imagination.... dinosaur mountains wha?? Your too cute Kyde 🙂

Great stuff, thanks for the piggyback to Hawaii 😁
@4:02 what is a rip tide ?
A tide that comes in so quickly, you get surprised by it and get swiped away before you can get to safe areas.
How do you support your trips financially

hey you two, you need an iced beer to go with the sunset !
Hawaii is realy beautiful! Nice video. But i hope in future see more videos about Japan and Asia in general.
That’s a very true story about the chickens. They all took off into the jungle along with a bunch of cats. Tons of wild cats living in the jungle.
As a swedish dude I can appreciate the value of a nice fika! :)
Kauai is wet. One of the wettest spots on Earth is there - Mt. Waialeale.... and December is the rainy month on Kauai....
Back to America again for good ?
We still live in Tokyo. These videos were filmed over winter holiday. -E
@@kydeanderic stay cool in tokyo .
10:57 It fell right to the ground 🤣

KYDE HASN'T SEEN LILO AND STITCH‽‽‽‽‽
I forget how sheltered people can be sometimes but still. Ohana. Bubbles. Blue punch buggy.
I'm disappointed i did not get to see the bonfire, that would have been spectacular.
Super early! Top 10 comments (on my iPad view). I have always wanted to go to Hawaii, it’s my eventual goal to do before I’m 40. 7 years to go!

Hawaii seems to consist only of chickens and warning signs.
Krazy Red did it better!
...meatnavores...
Hey I know that place. It’s where I stashed the bodies!
You guys seem uncomfortable in nature.

Kids enjoy adventures, want to investigate where this or that path leads. Probably not over enthusiastic about the actual hike for hiking's sake.
